I had a very smooth experience selling my flat with Barnard Marcus in Whetstone. I chose them out of the options available due to their positive reputation, and they did not disappoint. Selling a flat is obviously not a fun, easy or short experience, but I trusted them to guide me through the process. Cameron Russell introduced me to how it would all work, and helped me pick out a buyer that actually materialised in a sale. Christian Alfano was who I communicated with the most; I believe he found the actual buyer, and helped with the back and forth, on the big things and even on small things like "does the buyer want to buy my washing machine?" He got back to me on all enquiries and there were a lot. Barrie Christophi, Graca Matroos and Camilla Undorte also helped along the process.
We exchanged a few days ago, completing in a few weeks.

If I could give 0 stars I would…disgraceful customer service. I booked in a viewing at 4pm today. I was asked on the phone whether I wanted to speak to their Mortgage Broker (I told them I had one anyway, but they wanted me to speak to them compare prices and to meet at their office). 20 minutes before my viewing I phoned them to see if we were still on and didn’t get a call back. I had to phone again at 3:55pm. I spoke to Barney Beswetherick (Assistant Branch Manager) and said I would meet him at the property to which he replied “no problem, here is the address, I am just leaving the office now”
After waiting 15 minutes at the property, I phoned to see where he was. To my disbelief they told me my viewing was now at 5pm because of the meeting they wanted me to have with their Mortgage Broker. Not only did they not tell me, but the Manager Barry Christophi said “Just because you changed your plans doesn’t make it our fault” I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Not only rude but unbelievably disgusted by their attitude. They tried to force me to speak with their mortgage broker after telling them multiple times I did already have one and it wasn’t needed, they wasted my time.
Their 63% 1-star ratings says it all really. Stay away from them. Horrific branch.

I cannot thank Cameron Russell and Barrie Christophi at Barnard Marcus Whetstone, for the professional and courteous manner and assistance provided in selling my late Mum in Laws 2-bedroom flat. Cameron made the marketing smooth and simplified. The property with pictures and description, had worldwide exposure. Cameron took control of keys in order to gain 24-hour access as the property was vacant, helpful as we are both resident in America. Barnard Marcus provided no problem in getting the home viewed by perspective buyers on multiple occasions. Without fail we were telephoned or emailed about scheduled showings, along with feedback from the viewings even over the pond. The marketing got us the best bang for our Bucks, and once a cash offer was received and accepted, Barrie kept us in the loop right up until the day of contract exchange and completion. Even going as far as a last-minute meter check so we could inform and pay EON. No fault of the office, there was a delay created by the inefficiency of the selling attorney's office. Barrie continued to follow up and chase down the process, remaining patient and a great advocate for all parties buying and selling. For a fee of just 1.5% Barnard Marcus estate agents of Whetstone, were great value for the money.
I cannot recommend the real estate service provide enough. Thanks Y'all!

Akill from the outset was warm, friendly and very accommodating to our quick turnaround request. We were offering on a house with multiple bids meaning we needed a mortgage in principle secured asap. Akill spent the time to talk us through the options available to us, and helped us out of usual office hours to ensure we were able to offer within the window outlined by the estate agent. As a result, we won the bidding and locked in our dream home.

I Sold a family members house through Barnard Marcus Estate Agents and had a very good level of service from beginning to end. Very disorganised and don’t have their customers best interest at heart. Takes them ages to arrange a viewing ( after passing you around to number of staff) then they don’t turn up for the viewing. Very poor customer service and communication. Have no respect for their customers and don’t keep their arrangements with customers . We waited for 35 minutes outside a house for a viewing that we had arranged in advance but the agent (Shahed/Shad) didn’t show up, or even didn’t bother to contact us. we kept calling the office and emailed them nobody answered! unacceptable and unprofessional! How sellers and buyers can trust such a company.
You guys should really review your standards and up your game in this very competitive market.

Out of every estate agent I have dealt with, hands down the team at Barnard Marcus Whetstone, should be an example for how every other agent should operate. The whole team was always polite and professional in every interaction I had with them (during a stressful purchase, we were speaking daily!)
Barrie in particular was incredible, he was always on hand to help, reassure and inform, but it was the genuine care he took with the purchase and went out of his way to keep me in the loop and help the purchase where he could.

Excellent Team!
We put in an offer for a property in Whetstone in July and were delighted when it was accepted. Barrie, Akill and Chris were fantastic and explained the whole process as we were first time buyers. They were always very easy to reach if we had any questions or problems and helped us massively at each stage in the process.
We had some issues with the solicitors which delayed our completion, however Barrie and the team were great at keeping us updated and chasing solicitors.
I would definitely recommend the Barnard Marcus, Whetstone team to anyone looking to buy or sell a property. We felt we were in safe hands with them and now have a fantastic home to start our family in.

I had a viewing booked in last week at 17:30 to meet the Landlords at the property and had to leave work early for this. It got to 17:30 and no one was at the property so I phoned in the agents and Claudine failed to mention to me that someone had already put down an offer for the property so I was no longer able to view. Only today did she phone again saying about a missed call (when I called last week) and if I needed help with my property search sniggering down the phone. So not only did she let me go out of my way to travel to the property and make me wait around but also took a week to get back to my call. Completely unprofessional standards, and I will never be renting with your agency.

I purchased my flat through Barnard Marcus 16 years ago and because it went smoothly and quickly, 6 weeks from start to finish, when I decided to sell up and move on I returned to them. This time because I was buying and selling it took much longer but I am pleased to say I have exchanged contracts and completion will be in 2 weeks. The agent I dealt with mostly was Barrie. He kept me informed all along the way as to how things were going. If Barrie was out of the office his colleague Christian was usually available to help and assist me with any problems I may have. It is very stressful buying and selling properties at the same time but both Barrie and Christian were always able to calm a situation and eventually made the transition go as smoothly as possible. Finally a trust worthy Estate Agent! I was in a very unfortunate situation with my property and Barnard Marcus sorted it ALL out for me. Not only did they sort it out, but they made the whole process so easy for me to do.
Akill in particular is the financial advisor for the company. I’m always sceptical when dealing with estate agents and financial advisors, but one meeting with Akill and I trusted him, and believed he truly wanted to help me. He was down-to-earth and very understanding of the sticky situation I found myself in. He didn’t judge me, or condescend me in any way, and I left that meeting feeling so much better topped with a plan that would make my life way less stressful. I would call Akill or pop in to see him with any queries I had, or any paperwork I didn’t understand. As a first-time buyer, Akill is a great person to discuss anything related to mortgages, finance, life insurance and even solicitors with. He took a lot of time out of his schedule to help and explain the entire process step-by-step (very useful when you have no idea how the process of buying a property works!) and is always very prompt at replying to calls and emails. I'd been trying to get a remortgage on an BTL from my existing broker, but the deals he was offering were not in line with expectation, as i knew i could get better and the speed at which he was operating at was too slow. With an ever changing market it was imperative for me to get the best deal as soon as possible. From the minute i spoke to Akill about my situation and what i was looking for i knew he was the man. His knowledge of the market was excellent and responsiveness to emails, phone calls etc. I visited Akill in the office and the whole process took no more than 20-25 minutes. After just one trip to the office it was sorted, and the solicitors suggested were equally as good. The whole thing was wrapped up in under one month whereas i'd been trying to get this sorted with my existing long term broker for over 6 months. Money oriented employees, it's all about when they are getting paid. Bought a house with them in which the owners had listed out some work that needs to be carried out prior to us moving in. They have mentioned that it was all completed and none of it was done upon us receiving the keys despite email trails confirming it was done. Very low and non trustworthy, they also bad mouth other estate agents during viewings. It a nutshell uncooperative, nagging, selfish and money focused employees, not to mention rude on a number of occasions.

Stay away from these guys at all costs. If you are a tenant, you will be in for nasty surprises. They told us that the landlord has agreed to fix all the issues with the property. We trusted them only to find out that they had not verified whether the work was done or not. They just kept on telling us that the landlord has got all the work done at the property. We were shocked to find out after we had signed the agreement and paid the deposit that none of the issues we had identified with the property were taken care of. The paperwork was delayed for weeks even after all the money was paid.
Oh yes they will only vet you as a tenant using credit checks etc. and not the landlord, they don't care about the landlord's background. They don't care about you as a tenant. After all, its the landlord who is giving them the money.
They made us sign the paperwork twice and did not tell us that the Landlord had not signed the agreement afterwards We are appalled at the casual attitude of this so called award winning letting agency. This whole experience of dealing with these guys resulted in stress, waste of time and money and top of that resulted in us getting a property that is inhabitable!!!
