I have bought three properties, sold two and let out two through Leaders - they are the classic "local" agent where the team usually stay in their job for a good while and they get to know you - plus they know their market well, their office is bang in the middle of it. Jack popped in this week to give me a rental valuation on a flat which was an excellent conversation....Simon (the Don of Gunwharf Lettings) runs a good team, and I will be using their letting services once again. Although the sales service & team at Leaders Gunwharf has been very professional, the after sale service & management is the worst ever since I moved to the UK. A very stressful & manipulative situation, which I will fully review along with pictures at another time.

Not good! Moved in the sinks are blocked the place is run down and shabby and outdated! Burnt floors from the weed smokers before me I asked for things to be fixed and not even a reply! I've seen similar standards in crack dens! Amateur company! If your from outside the EU this company and the properties will seem like 5 star when in fact it's more like 2 star for 5 star prices! I can't say anything positive about the company and the property ??????????? would I use leaders again? No, there dead to me ???? worst experience of an estate agent for sure ???? but it might just be how they roll in Portsmouth ???? this might just be the peak of what they have to offer ???? the concierge looks like an even scruffier version of Derrick accorah who should be charged with harassment ???? lifts take 10 years to travel from 1 floor but it's no surprise as these buildings in around gunwharf were built last millennium so if you have a slow pace of life ideal and if you like the smell of weed and whatever funny smells they fill those lifts with crack on ???? it's an old run down commercial part of Portsmouth should be renamed old Portsmouth ???? you can clearly see this was a very bad experience in my life and I'll be glad to leave it and the shabby buildings behind for someone else with low standards to really get stuck into ???? I'm definitely dubious of the 4.3 rating these guys have ???????? something fishy going on ????

If I could leave zero stars I would. As a general advice point Google reviews are unverified so be very suspicious of 5 star ratings. Avoid as a tenant, I can't comment much due to a potential upcoming court case, but honestly save yourself the stress and go elsewhere.

It was a nightmare securing an apartment for me and my Family in Portsmouth. As the arrival dates approached, it became a serious issue for concern- dealing with several agents who for whatever reasons just didnt have the interest or commitment to help us secure an apartment, Thats until I met Jack Reid @Leaders. It seemed like he was God-sent. The dedication and support he gave to enable me close on this apartment, and the support throughout the process was positively overwhelming. I cannot thank Jack Reid enough for the empathy. Offering services is one thing, everyone does it, but offering services in such a manner that identifies with the challenges of the customer is what distinguishes one provider from another. Having problems? Call Leaders and ask for JACK!!

Our property manager was horrible. Leigh Dawes never got back to me on time and also never called back. With every issue I had I ended up calling and chasing multiple times. With working from home I barely had any time to call so I ended up waiting around 2-3 weeks for ANY issue to be fixed. Honestly poor experience and not the best service at all

I was lucky enough to be shown around a flat by Simon - he was friendly, honest about issues I might come up against, and very communicative and receptive to any questions I had. I have agreed to a no deposit option with leaders which goes under damages and repairs. I have been paying extra for 2 years because of the no deposit option. This is approximately £2,304 pounds that I have paid extra. And now the landlord is claiming that I have damaged the apartment and is making me pay an excessive amount when I am positive that the only thing the flat needed was cleaning which I am more than happy to pay for. Other than that, I did not cause any damages to the flat. If anything, the flat was not in the best condition when we moved in as the furniture was old, it was not freshly painted, the bathroom was rusty, the fridge stopped working at one point, the light bulbs constantly needed changing, the wooden floors would creak, the exhaust fan stopped working, and it needed a deep clean. When my fridge stopped working it was fully stocked and everything went bad and I had to throw everything away but i did not ask for a compensation even though it took weeks to get a new fridge! I didn’t even get an apology for being so late! Every time I needed anything I would never get a response until I nagged and kept calling. At this point I truly feel that I’ve been taken advantage of because I am an international student and I don’t this is acceptable to me. £70 to replace one cushion when I am sure it’s no more than £20 from ikea? When I contacted the landlord about this issue and I was trying to explain how much I had to endure and how I feel like it’s unacceptable and that I truly feel I am getting taken advantage of all she could tell me was “that extra amount won’t go for repairs and if you want you can raise a dispute” I hope that if you’re an international student you find other letting companies as you will most probably be taken advantage of. Honestly I wish I can give it 0 stars.

My property at Gunwharf Quays has been managed for several years by Leaders. We have always had excellent service and issues dealt with promptly and professionally with never an issue needing to be raised directly with me by any of our tenants.
We have now sold the property also through Leaders Gunwharf office using Philip Bega and his team. It turned into a complex sale due to legal issues on the lease and the financing and involving five firms of solicitors along the way over a 12 month period! Leaders were proactive and diligent throughout in making the deal happen and without their constant input identifying potential purchasers and chasing all parties constantly it is likely it would not have completed.

My partner and I have rented with Leaders for what will elapse as our 3rd year in May 2022 and we can’t fault them. When we decided in early 2021 that we would look for a new flat, we immediately looked with Leaders, and found our new flat that we viewed on March 10 2021, and moved in to just 8 weeks later thanks to Jack Reid and Simon Gardner. Simon has worked with myself and my partner from the beginning of our first tenancy with Leaders in 2019 and Jack was amazing in ensuring that we secured our new home, and made sure that everything we needed was there and everything we wanted to do was possible. Simon is a pro and was really helpful, detailed and thorough in answering any initial questions I had. He was very efficient with the set up, wasting no time in getting the property listed. He's very knowledgeable with the Eastside Plaza development. Also was able to offer competitive rates.
Harpreet is enthusiastic, helpful, hardworking, and was very responsive with the tenant find. She kept me up-to-date throughout the process and clearly did a great job as we successfully found a tenant for the property within days of listing!
I have no hesitation recommending the team at Leaders Gunwharf.

My experience with Leaders is the worst experience that I’ve ever had with a real estate agency so far. I am interested in a specific apartment, I’ve sent an online request a week ago and no one ever responded to my request. I have been calling them every day since then in order to arrange a viewing, they write down my details and say that they’re going to pass my message to the agent who deals with this flat but still no one calls me back. On Friday I called again to express my complaints and they booked me in for an online viewing on Monday at 10.00am but on Monday no one called again. I called them five minutes after 10.00am and they told me that there was not any booking for 10.00am and they just kept my details for the third time in order to pass my message on to the agent responsible for that flat. I am really dissapointed and desperate because I need to relocate to Portsmouth by the 26th of August and all the apartments that I like are handled by Leaders and they are not helpful at all.

I was supposed to rent a property advertised by leaders with my friend. We paid a fee to them to take the house of the market which we were told is not refundable if we decided to not take the property or if our checks failed. We did everything the agency required only to be told the Landlady didn’t want to let the property to us anymore. We asked for our admin fee as not refunding our admin fee if the landlady refused to let the property to us wasn’t a part of the agreement but all they could tell me was it’s not refundable. Agencies continue to scam and fraud university students at every opportunity they get. If it’s not taking large chunks of our deposit after we move out or keeping our admin fees unlawfully, there’s always a scam these agencies have to offer. I’m sick of it.

Simon Gardner was absolutely BRILLIANT throughout, and he is the reason for the 4 stars. Our only disappointment in dealing with Leaders was the check in process on the day we took over the property. Simon wasn't in to handle this (we wish he had been) and the experience we had on the day was very disappointing. We had to listen to the sales advisor chatting to his friend on his desk phone about their weekend plans at full volume next to us while a young girl tried to go through the check in process, which was really unprofessional and the topics being discussed were not appropriate for customers to hear. While the lady who checked us in was very sweet, we had certain expectations around the information we would be provided which were not met and which have made the last few weeks since we took the property more stressful than they needed to be. We had no information about basic things like who to report faults to, how the entry system in the building worked, where refuse goes in the building or any information about visitors parking permits etc... no one seemed to know anything about the connections in the building for television and subsequently this has made us unpopular with the estate manager for having to disturb him out of hours to come and attend our property with an engineer. Such a shame... it's a premium property on a beautiful site, and the initial service was so good from Leaders but was lacking when we needed them to support us on move in day, if you could improve this part of the customer journey you would be top notch.

Matt and his team have provided a good service in the face of considerable issues with the sellers solicitors and the tortuous nature of dealing with the managing agents. This has been an extremely long purchase process but they have been unfailingly helpful and chased/informed continuously.
The letting side is now being very helpful in identifying appropriate decs and furnishings etc. for their letting market.

The worst management I have ever dealt with in my life, rude staff, terrible management, and most importantly, the biggest scammers you'll ever come across. They'll suck every penny they can out of your pocket, and will keep adding random and unnecessary costs, specially when it comes to the deposit, they'll take every penny no matter what. Management are also terrible, with disrespectful staff, who are also professionally trained con artists. AVOID.

It doesn't matter if I posted a review one or ten times, the fact that you made come back and review you over and over again proves how terrible and unfair it is to rent with you people. It's necessary to speak to me directly like you wish, because your rude staff and expertise in scamming will not let us reach any logical conclusion. I'm just making sure that other people, specially students, do not fall in such a scam and avoid causing such a mistake like the one I made myself.

I didn't end up moving in the end, but they were the only local agent that would call me back when they said they would, and would actually pick up the phone when I called them.
The staff seemed like they were on the ball and were always happy to answer my questions, regardless of how many I had! :)

Still waiting for them to fix the microwave as promised 6 months ago and someone to fix the windows glass before it shatters on someone!!! Put some fire safety equipment in your buildings also, I couldve died in the fire last year because how unsafe the buildings are, no alarms, no proper sound, air leaks and everything terrible.
They keep calling and bothering me over the rent, or if there is a viewing, but never heard from them when the old aged microwave they provided stopped working and their 10 year old windows started chattering during rainstorms.
Customer Service = 0 stars
Safety and concern = - 5 stars
Location = 5 stars
Highly suggest to be careful when renting from such people, money is their priority.

Our leasehold conveyance took over 6 months from 'sale agreed' to completion. This was no fault of the team at Leaders Gunwharf. In fact Matt, Phil and Stef chased the slow solicitors and laggard management companies regularly to finally achieve the sale. Well done and thank you. Mike

Amazing service from the Gunwharf Quays Leaders branch.
From the initial home viewing, they were very quick to communicate with the landlord and secure the property for us. Simon was very knowledgable regarding the individual property and the surrounding area which helped us greatly. The team were very helpful during the period of getting references and paperwork, and all knew the system well.
Subsequently, their good communication with the landlord and local contractors has saved us from a few sticky situations - namely a water leak and boiler failure - an incredible service compared to our previous experience with some agents, which has benefited us as the tenants, and indeed the property owner when ensuring minimal damage.
