If someone could get a knighthood for selling and assisting with properties it would definitely go to Dan Shepherd!
Dan has been absolutely fantastic with the sale of our property, constant communication and always being kept in the loop as soon as he finds out any info.. helping our buyer with documents he wasn’t sure on out of hours to make the process easier for both sides.
We’re on the final push now with selling our property and I honestly don’t think we could have done it without Dan and would not have gotten a better anywhere else.

I can not sing Dan Shepherd's praises enough! From day one, organising my first viewing on the house (I have now purchased) to every time I call for updates and further viewings. I have used Martin and Co for many years on the rental side as a landlord and they always make efforts to find the best tenants for us and we have a very good working relationship. Carolyn and Alison do a great job finding tenants often within days and getting properties re let at a good market value. I have recently for the first time started using them for the sales side and a new sales manager Dan has started who has taken on my sale and I must say how impressed I have been. Within a week Dan had got a house on the market and 5 offers at a good price one which I have accepted. He has been very communicative and proactive in getting things done.

Trish Bell was so “polite”. I told her I am going to open a business and she says”that means you are unemployed”. I say I am looking to move in a month’s time. She says”the property is available NOW!”. Excuse me? Will you finish the paper work that fast I can move in right away? I would say Martin & Co Keighley are much better than this branch.

I have to say just how dissatisfied I have been left with the customer service of Martin & Co.
Myself and my partner are both looking to rent a flat that is within our area and larger than our current home, we found a flat that looked perfect for us, and enquired about a viewing. We arranged that it would be just myself viewing the property. The only time available was for Friday at 10.45am, I agreed to take my lunch at this time and meet the property manager. I had arrived and was knocking on the door for a few minutes and then decided to walk round the back only to be greeted by a lady who had no interest in showing me around the property. I had tried to engage with her by asking questions and explaining my office is not far up the road as well as explaining we are happy to pay the deposit and rent up front. I had no response from her whatsoever, I asked if it was possible to apply and was told that she would be speaking to the landlord.
I then waited over the weekend and decided to give her a quick call on Monday, just to see if there was an application we could fill out. I was told that would not be a problem and that she would be back to me by the afternoon, I heard nothing and just left a message. I tried to call again today with no answer, I tried to call their branch and got through straight away to the very same women, I was then told I wasn’t able to apply because the applications had been sent off this morning. I explained I have been trying to apply and was told that I had, by telling the lady that we were planning to pay the deposit and rent upfront. I questioned this as it is no form of an application. They had no details to look at how much we earn, or our credit history or references, no guarantors. She then asked me why we were even planning to pay upfront anyway, and then finished with it’s too late now anyway.
I’m not one to argue so I left it at that, if this lady had taken the time to meet myself properly or even look into myself and my partner, she would know that we earn a decent yearly income between us, both working very stable jobs within very stable and rewarding industries. Not that this makes us any better for the property than anyone else, however I feel we should have at the very minimum been given the chance to apply and I just feel no one should be left feeling the way we have when they are looking for their next home. I’m glad I have been shown the level of customer service so early on, especially knowing the lady I was dealing with is a branch manager! it has stopped me from ever looking to rent with them again.

I bought a flat sold/managed by Martin and Co. Dale Hesketh answered a lot of questions for me and kept me up to date. Katerina was the original agent, but left the company half way thru my purchase, she too was efficient. The only hiccup was their phone answering service, who didn’t seem to pass on my calls.

I had booked a viewing which I was informed by a member of staff will take place. When I go on their website the property is no longer there, and on RightMove it says let agreed. I understand if someone else reserved the property. However, my issue is that no one informed me at all. Not even on the day of the viewing. I had to call to clarify things, and what’s worse I was told I would get a call back about this, but no one bothered to call. It’s a good thing I didn’t go, as I would have wasted my time. No one even sent a confirmation after I had agreed to the date offered for the viewing, to say this was definitely taking place. They had called me many times before to discuss this property, but when it came to me actually going through with a viewing no one cared to update me about anything.

I sold a buy to let property via Martin and Co Horsforth and was very pleased with the service. The property had multiple viewings in the first few days after being listed and soon went down to best and final offers. Katerina Chvapil managed the process very well, summarising the position of each bidder and their proceedability. After accepting offers we encountered various delays in the sale process (none of them her fault) but she was diligent and determined in helping to move things along and was ALWAYS available to speak to me, even when I needed to have a rant! We got their in the end, I would have no hesitation in recommended Kat and Martin and Co Horsforth.

I recently moved to Leeds and was looking for my first rented accommodation. It was very stressful time of searching for a rented property especially when you are new to city then I got in touch with Martin & Co through Rightmove. Before Martin & Co, I tried some other letting agencies and paid holding deposit as well but they took longer than necessary time in processing the application. Trust me Martin & Co is best in their service. Everything (including reference check, view of property and agreement) was lightning fast. Kudos to Carolyn Meakin and Katerina Chvapil for their kind and super supportive behavior. They both are such an incredible asset to your letting agency. Their customer service is great, they answered all my questions patiently and visited twice when I was unable to handle few inventories! I highly recommend this company. 10/10 experience!

I’m about to move to Leeds from overseas and have needed to decide on a property based on the information on the website and remote viewings. Katerina takes great care and attention to ensure that the sale runs smoothly, keeping in touch with all parties concerned (solicitors, other professionals within the chain of sale).
Katerina is very proactive and always has answers/thoughts before she rings to advise issues. As an example, with our sale, the buyers surveyor highlighted a possible issue with the roof, Katerina called us to advise this followed by……. I have a company that I have used who I can send next day to look at the roof and report on the issues raised and advise a quote.
Without going into detail, the company used gave a very good quote and gave a prompt response to the issues raised giving some reassurance to our buyer which I’ll help keep the sale moving forward smoothly.
I know Katerina gets regular updates from all professional bodies to ensure she can respond to any issues or matters that may affect progress and deals with them without delay.
Without a doubt, I can absolutely say that in Katerina’s hands, I feel assured the sale will progress in a timely and efficient manner.

I recently move in to a property for rent through Martin & Co Horsforth and they did a pretty decent job in helping me complete the move in formality. I did contact Ms. Carolyn for few issues/support after moving in and she did respond quickly and did the needed support soon.

I was advised to show up to collect my keys at 10am on Saturday and was left waiting for over 10 minutes. I tried to call to discuss this and was rudely and immediately dismissed by the director, who was incredibly judgemental about the situation and declared that I had no right to complain.
Honestly shocked by the unprofessionalism displayed.

As a franchise- they should be ashamed of themselves. Rented a flat for 2 years and the problems that were there when I moved in are still there. They will ignore you until they can’t possibly anymore then respond so rudely, I’m surprised Carolyn still has a job.

I contacted Martin and Co Horsforth on Friday to report a boiler issue causing no hot water and heating. The out of hours line notified me on the day that they’ll treat this as an emergency. Not a single response or callout was made, i decided to ring up for an update on Tuesday (4 days later) and spoke to a rude woman by the name of Caroline who said she doesn’t care and hung the phone up. Never experienced such horrible customer service from a company before. And when I do get a buy to let, i definitely know which estate agent to avoid!
Avoid this branch - this member of staff called ‘Caroline’ is disgusting cheeky little rat!

We've been renting through this branch of Martin & Co for two years. Martin & Co as a company/chain has offered reasonable rates; we haven't felt 'ripped off' by 'admin fees' and the like, which we've experienced with other letting agents. This particular branch of Martin & Co has been fabulous and we can't thank all of the staff connected to this branch enough for their support. From the first time we enquired to now, as we're nearing the end of our tennancy (becoming first-time buyers), the office staff have always been friendly, polite and readily available to contact by phone, email and walk-in. The minor issues we've raised have been resolved within three to four days every time. The 'handyman' Peter has always done a super job, as did the electrician they sent round. Lovely staff at this branch - thank you so much to all of you for the work you have done on our behalf.
