The John D Wood team recently help me sell my property in Earls Court. Simon and Julian were unbelievably helpful throughout the process. They are such a nice team to deal with and were always very responsive. I can’t recommend them enough.

Had an absolutely appalling experience with Ben the Head of Lettings and Molly the negotiator. We were misled and coerced towards making a certain offer. Even though an offer mad made there were lies and a complete lack of transparency in the way our offer was handled. The lies continued while trying to justify their position. A subject access request has been raised to prove their lies and a formal complaint is being made with progression to the ombudsman. Unfortunately we’re still left in the detrimental position without the property, with no responsibility or accountability being accepted by the agents. Take extreme care when dealing with lettings in this office.

We had an excellent experience with John D Wood & Co in Wimbledon when purchasing our flat.<br><br>Peter Woods was professional, helpful and responsive throughout the whole process. Communication was always clear and timely, and Peter was very good at keeping things moving and helping whenever something needed clarification or follow-up.<br><br>The whole Wimbledon team were friendly and helpful, including through the final stages of completion and collecting the keys, which made the process much easier for us.<br><br>We were very pleased with the service we received and would happily recommend Peter and the John D Wood Wimbledon team to anyone buying or selling a property in the area.

We worked with Stuart on buying our place in Cobham and he was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. His personal approach meant that when there were delays in the chain, he kept very calm, managed the seller very well and didn’t put any pressure on us even though the chain was at risk. Very understanding, happy to help out where he could and someone we would definitely use to sell our place in the future. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

I had a very disappointing experience with a property marketed by John D Wood & Co. Estate Agents (Wandsworth).<br><br>Initially, Poppy Martin was very helpful and responsive throughout the viewing and application process, which gave us confidence in proceeding. However, after our offer was accepted, we were informed that all payments and tenancy arrangements would be handled directly by the landlord rather than the agency. This was never made clear at the outset.<br><br>We had already submitted our personal and financial information to the agent, including payslips, bank statements, passports, proof of address, P60s, and our guarantor’s personal and financial details. Despite this, the landlord requested the same documents again, followed by further demands for over a year’s worth of our guarantor’s financial records, including payslips, bank statements, and P60s.<br><br>We also discovered that deposits were to be paid to a business account managed by a third-party company, which had not been disclosed by the agent. When we requested evidence of their data protection compliance, we were initially provided with an expired certificate and generic documents, which further undermined our confidence.<br><br>At this stage, we no longer felt comfortable sharing additional financial information. As a result, our £311 holding deposit was retained. We felt pressured into providing excessive personal data under the threat of losing our deposit.<br><br>Overall, the process lacked transparency, involved repeated requests for financial and personal information, and left us feeling misled. This was a stressful and disappointing experience, and I hope future applicants are given clearer information before committing to the process.
