11th Feb 2024 (11 weeks ago)Been at the property for a number of years now and not only have they increased my rent but after going back and fourth back and fourth trying to get someone to help me because the mold damage is so bad nobody is willing to help me. Ashton & Grosvenor basically turned round and said this is not our problem speak to the landlord. Which btw I already have. I have a dad dying in hospital of Terminal Cancer which I have tried to explain to the Landlord and Ashton & Grosvenor and none of them seem to give a single care in the world about it this is too much for me to deal with right now it would be nice if someone showed me some empathy but I guess not. Absolutely disgusted I can barely breath at night because of the mold damage which makes me wake up in the middle of the night coughing. Those pictures uploaded do not do it justice the windows are constantly dripping as well when I wake up. What am I supposed to do open the window at night ? one I am by a main road its noisy and secondly its freezing none of them have provided a solution for me but they quickly put my rent up though didn't they without any weeks notice or anything. 0/10 offered no help no solution nothing charged me for the bill and accused me of threatening them which was not true I simply said id have to take this further if nobody was willing to help me and they blew up with me accusing me of threatening them. If you look at the other 1 star reviews they also had issues with this agency because there are about 6/7 ( 1 star ) reviews in total so this is a common thing by the looks of it Guys just a heads up. 6th Apr 2024 (23 days ago)I TOTALLY recommend this agent, especially Megan & Lee. We were selling my elderly parents house, and they dealt with the process with compassion and dedication. The photos / drone images were outstanding and the advert was incredible. Within two weeks we had two offers! Definitely an agent to be recommended!
1st Apr 2024 (28 days ago)Terrible company, i was renting a poorly maintained property from Homesure and they refused to do any repairs. The property was full of single glaze windows with cracks on them that caused constant cold drafts over all. The carpets were full of blacks stains and flooded kitchen due to a hole on the roof. They refused to replace the windows and change the carpets and i put up with this for over 2 years. My kitchen ceiling had constant water pouring out of it last July which left me unable to use to room due to electrical safety. I was chasing this up constantly to be told in September that the landlord is not willing to spend any money on the repairs unfortunately and there nothing i can do. During this time Homesure repairs team had sent my 2 separate rent increases from 400 to 475 to 525 in the space of one month. I went to a tribunal that ultimately pointed out many safety issues within the block of flats due to exposed wiring, sealed fire exits, no fire alarms, no fire safety notices, no fire blankets. The tribunal had awarded me with no rent increase but i had moved property by then in November as the water in the kitchen was now pouring out of the lights and down the electric sockets. Once moved out Homesure then kept my deposit and said i had left the property in a bad condition and i stole all the lightbulbs. They wanted £60 for the lightbulbs which i had purchased myself as they did not supply them when i moved in and the rest of my deposit (£340) for carpet cleaning even though i got them professional cleaned when i moved in as they was full of black rubber like stains throughout the property. Luckily i had evidence from my move in date with the condition Homesure gave the property and i was awarded to full amount of my deposit. I write this review because i felt let down by this company as i lived in the property for over 2 years and never missed a payment. I spent a lot of money maintaining the property. When it came to anything being repaired Homesure would come up with any excuse not to repair anything. I had been reporting many issues since i had moved it and they either lost the reports or just forgot about it. When i got serious and pushed for them they would litterally say the landlord says No theres nothing we can do. Disgusting how they happy to take your money but then refuse repairs. I would not advise this company to anyone, they left me with a lot of stress and depression and i am now on medication because of them. The staff speak to you like rubbish on the phone and always put you at blame, feel like the company is run by a group of kids that take no responsibility what so ever and always blame the tenant. Also the fact they made up loads of lies to keep my deposit was very unprofessional and very scam like, they cannot be trusted. Please see images of the state of the repairs they refused to fix for me, avoid the flats on Church Road they are falling apart and they will not spend a penny or even admit they are in a really bad condition.

Nothing was ever too much trouble and overall I couldn't be happier with their service. Would recommended 100%

The photographs and virtual tour of the property were exceptional the best ones out there where comparing to other agents. For Sale sign up immediately and supported very well with sale negotiation. Estimated value of property spot on. Sold within one weekm

20th Dec 2023 (19 weeks ago)Used this company as my solicitors for buying and selling carole and Joanne done a good job but at times I needed a solicitor who worked 5 days a week and not 3 because at times I got stressed on the days no one could help but overall I would recommend using them.

I was updated at every step from the start to completion. I’d recommend Belvoir Haydock to anyone thinking of selling their property in the most stress free way! Special thanks to Lynn, Julie and Cath who I had the most communication with. Great team of hard working ladies.

We were on the process of hunting a house for rent, completely tired and frustrated of spending time in other Estate agents without answers. Since we met Brooks we felt confidence in renting with them. The renting process was smoothly without difficulty. All the team is very professional, kind, always with a prompt response to our requests. In our case, our closest contact was with Holly. We really appreciated the way she conducted the process. Her honesty, kindness and professionalism goes beyond and make us feel confident. We do not hesitate in contact her in first place when we have questions about the house. In summary, if you are planning to rent or buy a house in Streatham area, do not hesitate in contact Brooks!
15th Apr 2024 (14 days ago)Disappointing. To start with, communication seems to be an issue. No problems with the initial rental in 2021, all went smoothly except we weren't informed when the property was ready for us so we wasted several hours waiting to be told. Never told us how to set the house alarm or how to top up the gas/electric. Simple information we should have been provided with. Our stay at the property was generally ok though the description of "Finished to an excellent and high standard throughout" is a work of fiction ha ha - the place hadn't seen a paintbrush for a long time. The stair bannisters were FILTHY. We had an issue with large damp patches on the walls in the back bedroom. These were reported and (after several calls/emails) eventually someone came to check it out but we never heard anything back so it was never rectified. The toiler drains kept blocking which we reported but was never resolved, we just had to get adept at unblocking them ourselves. We asked if we could look after a cat we had been offered to us in the property. Again despite numerous contacts over a couple of months we never got a response and the cat went to another home. Fair play to the maintenance guy who called around a few times, he did his best but he always seemed to be asking if we'd heard about this and that from the landlord/agent, which he hadn't. Despite all this, we were happy in the property and I spent quite a bit of time and money painting the back yard walls, laying artificial turf and making the outside a really nice area at the back of the house to sit out in during the summer months. We decided to leave this artificial turf in place when we left as a goodwill measure, it really made the back yard a much more habitable area than the old crumbling concrete underneath. When we came to leave the property we spent a lot of time cleaning the house, (inside and out) and it was in a much better state than it was when we moved in. In my presence a representative from Howell & Co inspected the property and, apart from a couple of minor things (washing machine needed a tray cleaning and a drawer emptying) we were assured everything was good. We asked for our deposit back a few weeks after we moved out and Howell & Co decided that there was £200 of work needed doing. For what?? Apparently several cupboards needed cleaning, so did the oven (we only used it a few times just after we moved in because it was in a poor state, despite us trying to clean it) and apparently the backyard needed a deep clean because it was covered in cat excrement!!! A local cat or cats did occasionally soil the grass when we were there but it was perfectly clean when we left - I know it was because I had spent time cleaning and brushing the entire yard. We were being charged for visits by cats AFTER we left. I complained and Howell & Co reduced their bill to £120 but they were charging us for things that didn't exist, had been ok'd by their own representative or NOTHING TO DO WITH US. From reading previous posts and talking to other tenants it seems Howell & Co have form for not returning full deposits. I appreciate this is long review (and has been written at different points over a couple of months) but its and honest and truthful account of our experience with Howell & Co. Sorry, but I cannot recommend them based on this.
9th Dec 2023 (20 weeks ago)Disgusting customer service, rude and unprofessional. I have rented 2 properties through Cameron Mackenzie over 10 years, I've been in properties infested with mould, been in hospital with sickness yet every time you ring up nothing gets sorted and you get ignored. I've had neighbours with the same problems over the years who have also had small children with the same sort of problems and they have said the exact same, they have a horrible attitude towards you, belittle you and act like you are an inconvenience to them as soon as you ask them to do anything (like contact the landlord for repairs) and every time nothing gets done and they get away with it. On the other hand when they want something from you they will harass you, send you over 5 emails a day and constant phone calls trying to intimidate you but ignore you and leave you for months when you are in need of repairs effecting your health. They put me through so much stress when I fell pregnant, ignored dangerous repairs when I had a toddler living with me in the property, and then handed me a section 21 when they wouldn't fix anything, then blamed me for repairs they hadn't done. Luckily I had evidence of this and got most of my deposit back. They also lied about the dates the section 21 was given so luckily it was invalid, I realised this after I had spoken to shelter and checked the dates. The worst letting agency I have ever been with the company should be shut down it is that badly run. I have never been so happy to finally not have to deal with them anymore. Good luck to anyone renting through this horrendous letting agency.
