22nd May 2026 (22 days ago)Extremely disappointing experience with Slater Hogg & Howison Falkirk. My pregnant girlfriend and I viewed a rental property with them while preparing to start our family together. The property was lovely and the letting agent initially seemed very helpful and professional. We were told our application had been successful and that the next step was to pay £300 upfront towards the deposit to secure the property, with keys due to be collected the following Wednesday. Two days later, I received a call informing me that the landlord was no longer proceeding because Slater Hogg would not offer them a rent insurance product due to us being a young couple with limited credit history. Despite having stable circumstances, this apparently made us “too risky.” Naturally, we were devastated. We had already told family members, started purchasing furniture and white goods, and spent money preparing for the move only to have it pulled away at the last minute. To make matters worse, we were told the £300 refund would be processed shortly, yet days later we were still waiting. This directly impacted our ability to secure another property we had found. I even offered alternatives, including paying 3–5 months’ rent upfront and providing an extremely reliable guarantor, but was simply told “no.” I’m not even convinced these options were properly presented to the landlord. The whole experience felt incredibly unfair, dismissive, and profit-driven. As someone who works within the property investment industry myself, I find this level of service and treatment completely unacceptable. I would not trust this company to manage investments or handle tenants fairly.

I was kept update to date with all interest in our property, and they provided advice and recommendations without prompting. Homes for You are thoroughly professional and I would recommend without hesitation.

30th May 2026 (14 days ago)Slater Hogg and Howison have managed all properties in our portfolio for a couple of years now and they’ve been brilliant. Lisa and the team are always on hand any time we’ve needed them and they’ve been really proactive in dealing with any issues that have came up. Our portfolio is quite spread out, so without SHH we would be struggling to keep on top of it. They allow us to be very hands off which is vital for us Would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for a letting agent! Thanks again!

Suzanne and Eilidh were always available to help, whether by text message, email, or phone call, and they kept us updated every step of the way. They were both friendly, professional, and incredibly patient with all of my questions. Overall, the experience was both professional and personal, with me feeling well supported from start to finish. They both demonstrated their vast knowledge with the ever changing market which ultimately lead to an acceptable offer on my property.- 9th Jun 2026 (4 days ago)Every aspect of putting our house on the market was a seamless experience. The property assessor (Peter) was very professional and gave a realistic but accurate assessment of what we might achieve from a sale. The office staff (Ann and Louise) were also very professional but friendly and also responsive to my questions. Overall I could not recommend this team highly enough, I would not hesitate to use them again and recommend to others.

David found the ideal property for us to rent. He made himself available for us and insured our calls were returned promptly. David was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to explain each step of the process clearly and concisely. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone looking to purchase a property, or indeed rent one. Well done to all, especially David.

Alison also has done a great job for us keeping us up to date and Caroline for organizing all the viewings .Thank you all so much for the present of your fantastic new home gift box . 24th Mar 2026 (12 weeks ago)Buyers and Sellers - Avoid! Based on my recent experiences as a prospective buyer, I would strongly advise both buyers and especially sellers to avoid using Clyde Properties. I attempted to arrange viewings with them on two separate occasions, and both interactions were consistently disappointing. Despite advertising “appointment only” viewings, they offered only open viewings. At the first property, it was clear that many attendees believed they had private appointments. The agent on site took no interest in the viewing, offered no information about the property, and repeatedly responded with “refer to the home report” to even basic questions. They appeared unfamiliar with the property and disengaged throughout. A second attempt to view another property was just as frustrating. Although the listing went live early in the week, the only viewings offered were during working hours on Friday and Monday. Despite requesting an alternative time well before the closing date, they made no effort to arrange one. Having sold a home through a different agency, the contrast in service quality was stark. Clyde Properties showed little willingness to work with buyers, and based on many other reviews I have since read, this seems to be a common complaint. For sellers, this lack of engagement is particularly concerning; an agency uninterested in supporting buyers will inevitably impact interest and offers. With so many other agencies offering far better service, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Personally, I will avoid properties listed with Clyde in the future, and it appears many others feel the same.- 19th May 2026 (25 days ago)Absolutely delighted with the buying and selling advice and help from the very professional staff at Clyde Stirling and Falkirk. Being new landlord's, we thought we would compare and try someone else for our 2nd property, it all went horribly wrong and was rather stressful, but thankfully we were able to return to Scott (with our tail between our legs) who has yet again found a tenant and taken all the stress away from us. Cannot recommend Scott and Home Sweet Home highly enough for lettings. They are approachable , professional and as we found out, very forgiving! They communicate all the way through the process, prompting us where necessary. Lesson learnt for us, we won’t go anywhere else now

The team was highly responsive and efficient throughout the process, with excellent communication and prompt assistance whenever needed. Jack happened to conduct all of my viewings, including the very first one in my property search. He was professional, patient, and approachable throughout, taking the time to explain everything clearly and answer any questions I had. His calm and reassuring manner made the process much less stressful, particularly during my first viewing. As a student, I found him easy to communicate with and appreciated his understanding of my perspective.
