The team at this branch were very helpful and responsive at all times. We were first in contact with Marc Cox who listened carefully to what we were searching for in terms of our new home. He came back very quickly with recommendations and then further was able to book many viewings for us. He way always professional, not pushy and knowledgable. One of the houses Marc suggested as a wild card, was what we went for in the end! Marc was able to offer different types of advice throughout the buying process for us. A mention to Jill Parry and Amy for also assisting at the later stages too. A great team that we would firmly recommend using their services!
If you are considering to apply for a job at this branch I would suggest you didn't bother. I applied for role within the branch and took time off work to attend the interview following a phone Interview I had the week before. The interview went well and the staff were friendly, I was told at the end of the interview I would hear if I did or did not have the job by the end of the week. After two weeks I contacted and was given the excuse that the managers needed to have a meeting to discuss this and I would hear in a week. A week later I still had to answer so I contacted again and I was told the manager was on holiday and I will hear back in another week. Overall it has been around 5 weeks of excuses and they still did not contact me to say if I did or did not have the job as promised in the interview. It is very unprofessional and they completely wasted my time by giving me excuses each week. I would never recommend for anyone to apply for a job here they just mess you around waste you time.
Integrity and honour are words seldom associated with estate agents, Peter Jackson has both in abundance. He has been a pleasure to deal with before, during and after house listing and if selling or buying in the Ewell area again he would be my first port of call. Thank you for all your efforts Peter.
Liar people. I was booked to view two houses, however, they were under offer.
Great for me - help me find nice flat - very helpful. Thank you
LANDLORDS BEWARE, they are highly unprofessional and disorganised letting agents. The tenants that they found for my rental investment property, completely trashed and disrespected my property, costing me thousands of pounds in repairs and legal fees. Avoid these letting agents like the bubonic plague.
Cairds secured a quick sale of our house on West Hill Avenue. Ben Woolnough did a great job with the pictures, showing the house at its best. The chain stalled due to cash problems at the bottom, but Cairds followed up to assist with alternative financing. Stephen followed this up assiduously, keeping us updated throughout the process to finally achieving exchange.
Strung us along for 4 months. Avoid using this agency. They were the agency two down in a chain we were in and advised our buyer that their client was in a proceedable position, when in fact, he had had an issue on his lease of the property he was selling for almost a year. They said he had a first time buyer on board but that was not the case either. They strung us along for 4 months saying the lease issue was being dealt with and would be sorted soon. Stephen Goldstraw was very rude and abrupt to all of the enquiries from the other agents in the chain and even put the phone down or refused to take calls, or when he did, said "I have no idea whats going on" and when I investigated my hunch that we were being lied to about whether their buyer was actually proceedable, it turned out that he wasn’t after all and the first time buyer had disappeared (not surprising as I don’t know anyone who would wait a year to buy a property). They didn’t even apologise for the hassle they have caused, despite me having spent almost £2000 on a survey, searches and legal fees. They also tried to make out that a lady who had been on maternity leave for at least 2 months was still dealing with the matter. All of the agents in the chain said Stephen Goldstraw was an idiot to deal with (that’s a polite word for what they actually called him). Avoid this lot like the plague.
During my search for a rental property, Kate was extremely helpful in assisting in finding a home for me and my wife. Would definitely use Gascoigne-Pees in Epsom again.
Gascoigne Pees Epsom branch is, by far, the worst estate agents I have ever had the displeasure to deal with. The purchase of my property went ahead despite their incompetence, however their dealings were so bad that at one point they did make me question the purchase of my property. It took over 6 weeks and multiple calls and emails to get our property off right move. I heard every excuse under the sun, even blaming it on the fact their offices had moved to India, and I was told by multiple staff, that the property would be taken down off right move within 24 hours. In the end, after 6 weeks it got so bad, I threatened to pull out of the purchase and fortunately I got a lovely man named Matthew, who actually worked for a different branch, who took the property down within the hour. It seems that the fault actually laid with their system, despite their excuses. We asked our epsom agent, how much the service charge was and he informed us it was £1600 a year. However, when we received the contract we discovered the service charge was actually £2300, a difference of £58 a month. To be so grossly misinformed is not acceptable. Even getting a viewing for the property my partner had to send two emails and chase up. You would think they didn't want a sale! When we tried to book a second viewing they booked another viewing so close to ours, we had limited time to walk around, and my family members who were running slightly late didn't even get the opportunity to see it. The only thing they did do was allow us to get some measurements taken for shutters whilst our surveyor was there. However, I had to argue tooth and nail for this also. It is my understanding an estate agents is meant to help with the selling and purchase of a property, in my opinion Gascoigne Pees Epsom did nothing but hinder our purchase. When we come to resell it will certainly not be with them.
We both just want to express our appreciation to Lisa for her efficiency and professionalism. She is a delight to deal with and always goes the extra mile to resolve any problems or queries promptly. She is a credit to Leaders. With kind regards, Valerie and Bob
Shocking service. Withheld my deposit for no reason. Had to chase them for ages and they would not respond to phone calls or emails. Very unprofessional, would not recommend renting through them unless you want nothing but hassle
