   Not sure if our experience was down to the average age of the staff at the ilkeston branch of Burchell Edwards, but feel they neither managed our (Seller) or the buyers expectations during the viewings of which we had many, but no offers. On changing agents within 7days and 3 viewings we had 2 offers!!!!! I suppose the moral of this story is choose the right agent.??????... Read more

   Had my property managed by them . Not happy with the way they handled when it came to an issue with tenant . The person in charge have not returned any of my calls dispite many messages left . Nobody took any responsibility on misshandeling and mistakes that was made .<br>I am still waiting for the last tenant to remove the rubbish they left in garden which will cost me a good couple of hunderd and the deposit has been returned without solving this issue.The property was left dirty also . It looks like nobody did their job and no last inspection was done .<br>I was told it was let to a letting company and their effort to contact them has failed .<br>All that management fees are to avoid this kind of problems or so I thought....    We were given a valuation band of 200-250k (which in itself is outrageous), we were assured we could reasonably expect to receive over 225k for the property . We listed for 235 on their advice and grossly overpriced ourselves as a result. The interior photos in the listing were great, the exterior photos were unflattering and utilised drone shots on a crowded street - we had to ask for the lead photo to be changed. Proactive communication was absolutely non-existent, had to request every change in valuation, had to chase the mortgage in principle certificate, reduce the value numerous times. We only held a viewing for one couple (twice), which we had to conduct ourselves. As a result of the pricing strategy, we did not sell and lost the house we wanted. In addition, even delisting was farcical and the property was still live several weeks the agreed delisting date. Simply put, the pricing strategy was incorrect from the off and the enormous portfolio this agent holds is at a severe detriment to it's customer care.... Read more

   Unfortunately the flats surrounding us are let by IPS. After contacting them three times over six months to cut back their Bush on the front yard which was nlocking the walkway, they finally came and sorted it, but left a giant bag of branches, leaves, and sticks in front of our flat, which were there for over two months. Not only this, but the bush was cut back to stumps, which looks hideous outside our flat... When they did collect the bag, they left behind hundreds of leaves which had now been dragged right across the front yard, and onto the street, leaving a mess which we will probably have to tidy ourselves... If being slow to react and pure laziness are traits you've always dreamt of in your landlord/estate agents, then IPS will definitely be ready to hear from you.... Read more

   I have had multiple experience with the staff here and can honestly say that I would not go anywhere else. The staff are very professional, provide a great service and are very helpful and polite. Having both purchased and sold with whitegates and experienced superb service each time I though it was only fair that I shout about it so that others will know how good they really are. I only ever recommend them (and yes I have tried others in the past, my worst experience being with a company that has an X in there name). Whitegates however have and are always spot on, you wont go wrong using them. Thank you to everyone there for the years of amazing service.... Read more
