From renters perspective: Experience with Acorn was less than good, sadly my landlady was using them. When I was moving out and arranging viewings with acorn for potential tenants, despite a clear instructions via email about the times I can do- they ALWAYS would suggest times I didn’t, and would notoriously be late for the appointments without letting me know.
Gladly not dealing with them anymore! Felt like a time waste.

I cannot recommend Andrew highly enough, has been amazing throughout. Andrew is extremely professional, approachable and available to answer my many questions and/or to help me understand each step of the process. I felt in very safe hands from initial discussion through to completion. Andrew helpfully managed so much of the communication with other parties and/or advised when I needed to input in order to progress the sale. Everything moved with ease. Our only minor criticism was a lack of consistency across viewer feedback from different offices (some were thorough – which helped manage our expectations – and others were minimal or not given – which was frustrating). I brought a very nice flat through Andrew Castle and was in a slightly tricky position with a previous purchase having fallen through and therefore with a very short absolute deadline on the existing mortgage offer. I know for a fact that many a London agent would not have been able or experienced enough to navigate the complications of this type of deal and I was obviously a bit apprehensive and not banking on a successful purchase. The situation was compounded by absent seller’s solicitors (holidays and covid). Amazingly enough we completed the day before the deadline and without Andrew’s work as the agent in the process this just would not have happened. Very pleased.

Louis at Acorn Forest Hill is a DIAMOND. He helped my partner and I find an incredible first rental property with everything we needed and more. He was very detailed and efficient in what we needed to do through out the whole process. Helped us get an amazing deal and had us laughing from start to finish. He was really easy to talk to and didn’t give off the classic ‘pushy’ estate agent vibe. He cared about us and made sure we were good throughout the whole journey. WARNING to all buyers / sellers – be aware that the agents at Acorn have lied to us so they could sell our property.
We made an offer to a property with Acorn and at the same time agreed to sell ours with Acorn, in case of acceptance.
We were told that our offer was accepted and In order to move quickly The representative convinced us to put our property on the market at a lower price to attract more buyers. We were about to receive the first viewer when we coincidently found out from a friend that someone had made an offer to the very same property we made an offer to and that it was accepted on the same day as ours. This person was in a much better position than us as didn’t need to sell (but he wasn’t a cash buyer). We were devastated and called Acorn immediately. Mysteriously, the rappresentative we were dealing with left the branch or took time off. When I confronted the agent on the phone he immediately said that a cash buyer maybe came in last minute. Again another lie. It took three to four days for this person to come back to us and finally apologise.
This experience has left us really disappointed and we still can’t believe that Estate Agents are using these dirty tricks in order to sell properties and get their commissions.
Needless to say that we won’t use them ever again and warn anyone to be very carful when dealing with Acorn.

I found the agent I was dealing with (Dammy Ajanaku) extremely efficient and methodical in trying to find me a flat which met my requirement.
Dammy made diligent notes regarding my specific needs in a one bed flat as well as my budgetary limitations.
I found Dammy to be a highly attentive agent, He returned all my phone calls and emails I never felt neglected or unimportant. He is also highly personable with an engaging personality.

My wife and I have been potential buyers for almost 2 years now…
Not originally from London, we’ve had to canvas many of its boroughs in order to get a sense of place and home for our growing family.
The learning curve has been steep and along the way agents have come and gone, without much of an impression.
Last week Danny Grey showed us, what we can finally say -could be our new family home. I recommend Acorn Forest Hill. It was a smooth process with our sale and we were kept updated throughout. They have friendly staff. I mainly dealt with Danny and Louis but when I rang in and they were unavailable, the others answered the phone promptly and were helpful. We chose Acorn Forest Hill as we were impressed by Danny's knowledge of the area and passion for his line of work. We thought the estimation of house value met with our own and I believe that Danny and the rest of the team worked hard to realise a sale on our behalf. We had a terrible experience dealing with Acorn during our house purchase - it's clear that they represent the seller's needs 100%, with no regard for the buyer. We found Acorn to be unnecessarily aggressive and meddling into matters that our solicitors were already managing perfectly fine. It was so clear that all Acorn cared about was earning its commission asap and they'd do anything to reach that goal. Acorn would only contact us if it was something they wanted - when we had a question, we were often ignored.

Excellent service from the Forest Hill Acorn team. They were exceptional across all stages of the sale.
We sold our flat through them and when we had problems further up the chain, they were professional and tenacious in managing all parties, which was just what we needed to keep the momentum up to completion. If it wasn't for their persistence and problem solving skills, particularly with solicitors, the chain would have fallen apart. I'd highly recommend them.

Fabulous staff in this office.
Recently agreed a letting through the Forest Hill branch of Acorn, I can honestly say I have never dealt with such a professional outfit. The staff here go above and beyond, are incredibly open & understanding and get in there and get the job done. Cracking, vibrant young team led by the effervescent Joe Reeves. Our agreement in the first stages was dealt with Laura Costa, a true asset to this team, a little pocket rocket who has the personality of a power house and knows her stuff. Laura helped resolve a good few issues with moving in so close to Christmas time and therefore the transition was virtually seamless.
Even though the collection of keys was done at head office Bromley and the management then taken over by the landlord, Laura and co have never been short on helping to be mediators where necessary. Excellent service. Highly recommended. Head Office should lead by their example! Well done guys!

I was selling my property at the time of the Brexit vote. Acorn secured a sale within 2 weeks of the property going on the market. However, the buyer pulled out after the vote! This didn't stop Acorn getting people through the door. They are first class at staying in contact with you, and never gave up on trying to get the best price for me even though buyers were looking to take advantage of Brexit.

I am not usually one to write reviews, positive or negative, but after having such a great experience with Acorn at Forest Hill, I feel the need to let people know about their exceptional customer service. From the outset, I found Acorn professional and easy to deal with; especially compared to other local agents I had been unfortunate enough to have to deal with. Jonathan Mook was excellent, always keeping me up to date on the market and showing me exactly the type of properties I had asked for. When we found the right one, I felt he was open and honest in the negotiation and he also helped me find solicitors who were excellent and a mortgage broker who got me a cheaper mortgage rate. Glen Maher, the manager, then did the sales progression. I was always fully kept up to speed on what was going on, and when I didn't understand something Glen would always take the time to explain everything in full. Glen has a fantastic team there and I cannot thank them enough for making what is usually a painful, long and drawn out process into a genuinely pleasant experience. In case you had not guessed it, I highly recommend this particular branch of Acorn.
