We worked with Alex Leigh in the Islington office and found him to be helpful and accommodating. Whilst he technically represented the sellers (and we were the buyers) he went above and beyond to move the whole process forward expeditiously.
I am writing this from a buyers perspective. We found our interactions with Foxtons Islington to be insincere and at times untruthful. The untruths were not recognised immediately but on second reflection the facts did not add up. The method of communication was always over the phone even when email was pointed out as a preference for us. This further added to distasteful sales tactics used because it enabled them to leave no record of what they were doing. When the regulations increase in this area to become more stringent a lot of the sales techniques used by Foxtons will be defunct and they will be unable to carry on using them. Out of all the estate agents we had interactions with during this property purchase, Foxtons were the most 'shark' like.
Exceptional client service - I recently rented a flat with the help of Esme Griffiths and Carla Hellery. Despite not being successful with an offer, Esme kept in touch and found an alternative that was perfect for us. Esme really knew the type of property that we were looking for which made our property search so much easier and she went out of her way for us to secure it. Thank you!
Honestly - words cannot describe the experiences I've had with KFH Islington. For six years I've lived in London and I've always thought "Yeah estate agents aren't great but I don't understand why they've got such a bad reputation" - after encountering KFH Islington, I can see why.
Before we moved in we agreed a number of conditions about what KFH would remove from the property and what they would do (basic things, like installing a curtain rail where there wasn't one) - did they do any of it? Of course not. Did we remind them? Countless times. They either outright refused or repeatedly promised to do it (never delivering).
This incompetence continued throughout our tenancy with poor response times, dreadful support and sometimes just not replying at all (as was the case when our front door wouldn't work).
When we moved out they charged us for a number of things not mentioned on the check in report and to replace furniture which had simply moved to the next room. They've also charged us for things that the independent check out folks didn't mention on the check out report - why they think we paid all those fees to hire someone independent I do not know.
Steer. Well. Clear.
Chesterton Humberts in Islington are great. Finding a flat was quick and painless. I am still in the flat Chesterton Humberts estate agents found for me, however, I am looking into another property because I considering moving to a bigger flat. If I do, I will most certainly use Chesterton Humberts!
I telephoned on spec one morning regarding the sale of my Highbury home, and couldn't believe the knowledge, professionalism and friendliness of office manager Karen, with whom I spoke. I knew at the end of the call that I was going to go with them. I haven't regretted it for one minute. They were worth every penny of their fee. Karen, Geoff, Miriam and Will are utterly professional, efficient and friendly. Frankly, I felt pampered from start to finish.
I’m very pleased with the recent experience I had working Henry Liu and Andrew Jackson at Dexters Islington. Both went above and beyond in helping me find a flat in the area that I love, looking out for my best interests the entire time.
They were very attentive, knowledgeable and quick to respond to any inquiries I had, making the move less stressful.
Most importantly, I trusted their advice and appreciated their high standard of service. I will definitely reach out to Henry and Andrew again in the future when looking for a new place.
