He did several viewings with the buyers to make sure they were comfortable and kept me updated the whole way through. He is an absolute gentleman and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to sell.

31st Mar 2026 (5 mo. ago)I had to keep chasing them . Over valued it by 50,000 then wanted me to keep dropping. No real concrete feed back . Very miss leading about offers instead of waiting for offers officially tell you one is been made to never materialize.
20th Sep 2026 (9 days ago)I instructed James Anderson after being impressed by the proactive marketing strategy discussed at the outset, particularly the targeted buyer activity, wider office network, grouped viewings and detailed weekly reporting. Unfortunately, the experience didn't match those expectations. The initial marketing felt rushed, with simple mistakes such as the property not appearing through the search function on their own website, and the overall strategy didn't align with what had been promised at the outset. Despite raising my concerns repeatedly, I didn't see the level of proactive activity I had expected. Although the agreed strategy and marketing activity had not yet been fully delivered, and we were also in the holiday period, I was being encouraged to reduce the price after just four weeks. When I didn't agree to this, I saw little evidence of further activity to generate viewings, with the focus continuing to come back to price. I also asked for specific marketing changes, including refreshed photography and floorplans, and greater visibility of buyer enquiries and follow-up activity. These were not delivered as expected, and the reporting remained largely generic Rightmove statistics rather than giving me a clear picture of the activity behind the figures. The team were pleasant to deal with and I have no criticism of them personally, but ultimately the service did not match what was discussed when I instructed them, and I decided to terminate the instruction.
25th Sep 2024 (2 years ago)Overall, the feedback was when agent was chased for updates but didn’t find them very proactive. The agent didn’t sell the property despite being on the market for over a year, however other market factors were in place so it’s not all attributed to agent’s performance.

4th Mar 2021 (5 years ago)We had our flat on the market with Dexter's for the exclusivity period. During that time we were passed between 3 contacts at Dexter's. The first agent left within a week or two of taking our property on, put little effort into the marketing of the property resulting in a poor advert and poor viewings. The second agent was much better, rectified many mistakes and did find us a buyer. The buyer sadly pulled out, but by this point the second agent at Dexter's had also moved on. It took 3 days for us to hear of the news of the buyer falling through and a further week for the agent to actually make any contact with us. We found out the buyer had pulled out from our estate agent from the property we were purchasing calling our solicitors and asking for an update. Dexter's in my opinion were an appalling service. We put out flat on the market with another agent and had a brilliant offer, from a truly lovely couple within a few weeks. I wish I'd gone with the data in GetAgent in the first place, rather than going on gut feel. When we bought our flat it was with Dexter's and we got the impression that they were relationship people, however, it turns out they act in the interest of the buyer not the seller.

And Savills have been the exception to that rule - Adam and his team have been absolutely brilliant. We have had great advice about the market and exceptional advice about handling awkward situations with tenants. I honestly don’t know what we would have done without them.

Various complications came up from a few different places, but I was always handled thoughtfully and helpfully — and with a smile! When going through previous property sales and purchases I’ve had some very different experiences elsewhere. I wish all estate agents were like these guys. I would recommend them in a heartbeat.

With particular reference to helping me with a change in tenancy and identifying a new tenant I have found Ashton Darwell-Taylor to be particularly helpful - highly responsive and always replies to correspondence with no delays or hesitation, and proactive in bringing alerts to me or matters to my attention. An outstanding service and I would highly recommend both Chartwell and Ashton.

17th Sep 2026 (12 days ago)Our initial conversations with Chris were very positive. However, once the price was agreed and we decided to proceed, our experience changed considerably. We were passed over to Andy, who recommended his solicitor to the seller, which in our experience contributed to the process being delayed by several weeks. We then faced further uncertainty regarding the shape and extent of the land, including being informed that what we were purchasing appeared to differ from the Land Registry documents. Naturally, this led to further questions and discussions from our side. Unfortunately, during one of these conversations, Andy became extremely rude and made comments that I would not wish any buyer to hear. Purchasing a home is already an emotional and stressful process, and I would expect an estate agent to understand that and communicate with buyers professionally and respectfully, particularly when there are genuine concerns about what is actually being purchased. The only reason we continued with the purchase was because we had built a very good relationship directly with the seller. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this estate agent unless you have very limited alternatives.

29th Aug 2026 (4 weeks ago)Incredibly unprofessional estate agency, absolutely zero help, used for my first rental property, where I found myself doing all of the work and fixing issue after issue left to me. Thinking I would see the back of them once I moved in I powered through, however this was not the case, Our payment methods were switched and I had to beg for a week to get the banking information of their own estate agency! Making my first payment late.The property I moved into was handed to me in a disastrous state which was a problem in its own right. I recommend this estate agency if your a fan of headaches and panic attacks.
