23rd Apr 2026 (14 days ago)A Standard of Excellence That Words Struggle to Contain There are moments in life when a professional relationship transcends the transactional and becomes something far more meaningful — and my experience with Buckinghams Estate Agents of Virginia Water has been exactly that. When I say they are an absolute credit to their industry, I do not offer those words lightly. My journey with Geoff Burgoyne and his exceptional team began in June 2024, when our father made the decision to let his home as he moved in to live with my sister. From the very first interaction, Geoff and his letting team demonstrated a level of care, thoughtfulness, and thoroughness that immediately set them apart. Having operated as a landlord for twenty-five years and having worked with a considerable number of estate agents during that time, I can state with complete conviction that Buckinghams surpasses them all — not by a small margin, but by a considerable distance. Our father passed away in June 2024, shortly after the property had been let, and the world as I knew it changed in an instant. The tenants remained in the property, and through every maintenance matter, every decision, and every development, Buckinghams handled everything with a transparency that I had simply never encountered before at this level. Every communication was clear, timely, and unsolicited — meaning I never had to chase, never had to wonder, and never had to second-guess what was happening with the property. Geoff and his team appeared to operate from a fundamental belief that a landlord, and particularly one navigating personal grief, deserved to be kept fully informed at every turn. That transparency was not a feature of their service — it was the very fabric of how they conducted themselves, and it made an immeasurable difference during one of the most difficult periods of life. When the time came to sell the property through probate — a process that is inherently emotional and, at times, deeply turbulent — Geoff and his team proved themselves to be not merely agents, but trusted partners. They were instrumental in navigating an experience that carried enormous personal weight, and they carried it with us with grace, sensitivity, and unwavering competence. Yet perhaps what moved me most during the sale process was something that no contract obliges an estate agent to do. There were minor remedial tasks required by the seller prior to completion — small but necessary jobs that many agents would have instinctively passed on to subcontractors, adding cost, delay, and yet another unfamiliar face to an already weary process. Geoff rolled up his sleeves and attended to those tasks personally. That single act speaks volumes about the character of the man and the culture of the business he has built. It is one thing to manage a sale with professionalism; it is quite another to show up in the way that Geoff did, with the kind of quiet, selfless commitment that cannot be trained into someone — it must simply be part of who they are. Buckinghams have set a benchmark that others in their industry should study and aspire to reach. They have raised the bar to a height that speaks to what this profession, at its very finest, can genuinely be. My family and I have been through an enormous amount since June 2024, and through it all, right up until exchange, Buckinghams stood with us. For that, there is no adequate measure of gratitude — only the hope that this review, in some small way, reflects the remarkable human beings behind that name. Thank you Geoff and Team.

The entire house-buying process was handled incredibly quickly and efficiently, which made what can often be a stressful time feel smooth and straightforward.<br><br>They were always responsive and took the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly, no matter how big or small. I really appreciated how clear and transparent they were at every stage, keeping me updated and ensuring I understood exactly what was happening. I definetly will recommend this firm !

22nd Feb 2026 (11 weeks ago)I had an extremely disappointing experience with the rental agency. I was a tenant with them for five years, during which they conducted quarterly inspections. On each visit, no significant issues were ever raised, and I was never informed of any major concerns regarding the condition of the property.<br><br>However, at the end of my tenancy, they suddenly presented an excessive number of alleged issues and proceeded to deduct over £1,600 from my deposit — ultimately returning nothing at all. This was both shocking and deeply frustrating, particularly given the lack of prior complaints throughout my tenancy. The situation feels unfair and unjustified, especially after maintaining a long-term and seemingly trouble-free rental history with them.

22nd Feb 2026 (11 weeks ago)From the very first viewing, Steven at WPR was friendly and approachable, and what really stood out was how honest and sincere he was throughout. He was clearly very knowledgeable about the property and the wider purchase process, and was always happy to answer questions or talk things through. Importantly, I never once felt pressured. He struck exactly the right balance between being proactive in keeping things moving and available when needed, without ever coming across as pushy or overly sales-driven. Thanks to his approach, the purchase progressed smoothly and completed successfully, which made the whole experience feel far more straightforward than I had expected as a first-time buyer. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Steven and the team at WPR to anyone buying or selling.

They managed our rental for 11 years extremely efficiently, collecting rent, ensuring property was maintained and guiding us through new tenancies and rent increases. Then they handled the sale of the property, keeping us well informed throughout the process. Extremely proactive and productive, and speedy to react to enquiries. We can thoroughly recommend this company.

7th Apr 2026 (30 days ago)We have just had what I can only describe as a traumatic experience with this estate agent, they are absolutely appalling. Daniel Lowry did the valuation which was ok. His wife Julie staged the house which was fine. Niche did the photography & they were great. Richard did all the viewings & he was great. Then we accepted an offer & Jeremy was assigned ’Sales Progressor’ which I assume is an ironic title because I have never encountered anyone so ill-equipped to progress anything in my life. His only discernible talent appears to be sending utterly pointless WhatsApps. We accepted an offer in July of 2025 & despite J telling us in September & October that we were about to exchange contracts, several times (but no other detail) our solicitor then informed us on November 4th that there had been ‘no written communication from our buyers buyer since July’. When we called J to discuss this he went from being defensive to aggressive - blaming absolutely anyone & everyone but taking no responsibility what-so-ever himself. He suggested it was the fault of our buyers, their solicitors, our buyers buyer, their estate agents…absolutely anyone but him! He told us that ‘you are not the only one to be lied to here, I’ve been lied to as well!!’ A breathtaking lack of self awareness & he ended the conversation not with an apology as we had expected, no - he told us our buyers estate agents had been ‘b - ———-ing him!’ I have had the misfortune of dealing with a number of unprofessional & untrustworthy individuals in my time but Jeremy & Daniel top them all! Daniel became involved in proceedings when it was clear that Jeremy had not been progressing our sale AT ALL. Unfortunately rather than apologise & try to smooth things over, Daniel took the same (baffling) stance that Jeremy had! It was all someone else’s fault, it was nothing to do with Property Assistant & he made no attempt to apologise. I really think they need to ask for a refund from the training company they use because this ‘take no responsibility or accountability what-so-ever’ position is not compatible with decent business practice. When we issued PA with a deadline for exchanging contracts, Daniel’s response was to completely ignore us & cease communication until the date that we had given when he sent us a WhatsApp telling us we needed to get rid of our buyers & they would find us a new one?! We finally parted company with them In the New Year & went on the market with Winkworth (who were excellent) & whom I would recommend. There is a truly hilarious element to this sorry tale - Property Assistant actually has the audacity to charge above the market rate in selling fees!!!! To call Property Assistant’s business practices unprofessional churlish & immature would I fear be unfair to unprofessional churlish & immature people. *PLEASE DON’T LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKES - avoid this circus like the plague**

23rd Apr 2026 (14 days ago)The experience of finding the flat and securing the contract was great! Shemya was super responsive and answered all my questions. She helped fast?track things so I could move in before a big trip, which was very much appreciated. Because of the rush, though, when I moved in the flat still had unwanted furniture and was dirty (which wasn’t the agency’s fault, but due to a non?compliant previous tenant). That said, they were very responsive and quickly arranged for someone to remove the furniture, allowing me to move in just a couple of hours later. Would give five stars, but I’ve currently been waiting over three weeks for a faulty dripping tap to be fixed with no response so far, so still waiting to see how the management side actually is. Will update this review accordingly in the coming weeks/months.
