28th Jun 2024 (29 days ago)Avoid at all costs. The properties are not inspected before new tennents move in, we moved into the house over a month ago now 14th May 24 and it has been confirmed by Faye when we visited the office the other week that it was last inspected August 23. There was damp in the spare bedroom which we were told would be sorted asap it took a month to arrange this to be addressed, when we moved in we found damp and fluffy mould in the kitchen which we reported and is still outstanding and a number of other repairs which have been outstanding since before we moved into the property which the agents and the landlord don't seem to have any intention of dealing with and have simply been removed from the outstanding repairs on our account - the damp in the spare roon being the only one that anything is finally being done about. It takes days for them to respond to emails and furthermore I sent a formal complaint about this to the assistant manager Caitlin over a month ago now - the complaints procedure states that you should get an acknowledgement within 3 working days, I sent this 24/5/24 it is now 27/6/24 and I have had no response to date. Do not rent with Martin & Co all you will get is stress and I will continue to let everyone I know know that this is the sort of experience they can expect if they do.
10th Jul 2024 (17 days ago)I've been a Tennant with the company for nearly 3 years and look forward to being a continued Tennant at a different property with the same company, they are extremely helpful and polite and deal with any and all issues quickly and professionally and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a property.
23rd Jun 2024 (5 weeks ago)Don't choose them unless you are prepared to: 1. Lose all your deposit because they require you to pay for the time they spend looking for a new tenant, even though you gave a 1-month notice and the contract didn't state that you need to do so. 2. Not receive any support from them; for example, the bin was missing from day one, and they ignored all the emails I sent requesting a new bin instead of sharing with the neighbour. 3. Pay for equipment repairs (washing machine, water heater, etc.) even though the contract states that the landlord is responsible for repairs. 4.Receive an email from them asking you to pay your rent to a new account that is different from the one in the contract. They can claim that they never received the rent, so be aware!

30th May 2024 (8 weeks ago)Discriminatory Phoned up wanting to view a property only to be informed that as one of the prospective tenants was on benefits that a guarantor was required, irrespective of any other information ie age or rental history or even type of benefit. They tar all benefits claimants with the same brush. I understand the need for a guarantor but to require one based on one single criteria is discrimination.

MoveHolmesLTD and my landlord were brilliant to allow me to move into a flat. Throughout my tenancy they have been attentive and friendly to any questions i had during my time as we all have to start learning somewhere! Would definitley reccomend MoveHolmesLTD and use them again! Thanks again guys!

19th Apr 2024 (14 weeks ago)Extremely poor experience and lack of professionalism. Had a viewing booked for 4 pm today. I notified the estate agent that I would’ve arrived 10 mins late, and it turns out the estate agents not only could not accommodate a really short delay and do the viewing at 4:10 pm instead, but they couldn’t have done 4 pm either due to staff constraints and poor communication with the property management agency. And they made it seem like it was my delay that was the issue, when actually 4 pm wouldn’t have been possible from the start. However, what is most upsetting to me is that they only called to inform me when I was on the train already to go and see the property - a 4 hour journey. And after the day before the viewing was confirmed again over the phone. So it’s honestly beyond comprehension to me how a short delay could be met with such intransigence. The viewing would’ve lasted more than 10 minutes anyway - this is just ridiculous.

5th Jul 2024 (22 days ago)BE VERY CAREFUL!!! Once these lot have your deposit they ignore you. We agreed to buy a buy to let from these and went through the mortgage application with our own agent. We then found out they had overvalued thr property by a fair amount, not allowing us to get a mortgage. We were then told we had to use their mortgage person, which cost us another £300 but we had no option. They also could not get us a mortgage because the value was less than 50k. Upon telling these lot, they are now ignoring our calls, you can't speak to the refund team as only on email, no managers have phones and they won't give us our deposit back even though it states we are entitled to it back for following their stipulations. I'm no being ignored by the salesman Jack and no one will return emails etc. I will be taking this to the Ombudsman too, to highlight this appalling service and blatant overvalued to gain mortgage applicants. They had the same listing on their site for £52,500 and £46,000. We found this after we had agreed a price. So be very careful not to deal with these people. They are rude and have total lack of customer service once they have your deposit. Zero stars from me!!!
