Just bought a flat through Foxton's (agent Gareth Jones, Clapham Branch). They really did a good job, despite the seller's solicitor being very very slow (went on holiday without telling anyone), and they made sure it all went very smoothly in the end. 5 stars.

Had the pleasure of dealing with Jack Carmichael from Foxtons Battersea recently. Even though the flat was at Brixton and was registered at the Foxtons there, Jack made the effort to come out at about half 6 on a Tuesday night to let me in and view the flat, which I ended up putting an offer on. Couldn't speak more highly of Jack and would be more than happy to deal with him again.

Tried to increase my rent by £300 pcm claiming it was a bargain when a property the exact same as mine a few doors down was recently let for £20 pcm less then what I was paying for at the time. The fees are ridiculous, £420 and then requested my boyfriend get the references himself, I said no way! We're paying that you can at least do some work! Renewal fees of £100 every year. Avoid them for renting, there are many agencies in Woking considerably cheaper. Frankly, they should be ashamed.

Tried to rent through Foxtons for the second time this November. Despite the abhorrent service I received from Foxtons Peckham 6 months earlier. Holly seemed attentive and to care about what we needed. Luckily for us, after viewing a property we loved, all went quiet. We were left totally in the dark as to what was going on. It was very stressful for us. Thankfully, Roy Brooks Nunhead was on hand to help us!

I wrote a review on the Foxtons site. It doesn't appear- they only show 5 star reviews. We put our house to rent with Foxtons. Despite contacting them nearly a month ago and filing all paperwork (which we had to chase and was a very lengthly process due to their 'portal system' not working) our house is still not on the market. It will likely stand empty for 3 months costing us money because we have chosen Foxtons. Michael initially seemed extremely nice and promising but literally nothing has been done and I have wasted hours on phone calls and online trying to get this sorted. No one has looked at our house because the photos we sent across have not been put online. Definitely don't try and let your home out with Foxtons if you genuinely need tenants for a specific time.

I've dealt with Matthew Jones from the Foxtons Enfield office, who helped me let a house in London Fields when he was previously working at the Foxtons office in Hackney. We were sold blatant lies throughout the entire sales process in order to get the deal over the line. We subsequently had to threaten legal action at a later date relating to three major fabrications that we were told about the flat. It's probably more of an indictment on Foxton's hard sales "do anything to seal the deal" ethos rather than on Matthew himself, but he was part of the machine and comfortably lied to our faces and had no qualms in doing so. I will never use Foxtons again and urge all my friends likewise. Extremely high fees (£436 to run a reference check is extortionate) and poor customer service.
