We are having a nightmare with this company. We have now rented a property with them for a year. We turned up to the viewing, sat there for 10 minutes and no one showed. We called the office to be told they forgot to book it in and it would need to be rebooked, we had driven 4 hours to view this property as we were relocating so told them they had to send someone out. We were then rushed through the viewing. We ended up going ahead with the property and had no problems with this part of the process. However, anything that requires any form of management from Martin&Co is horrendous.
They have 2 months to complete a gas safety check but left it to the last week they could legally have it done and then Oliver had a go at US for not being able to take a day off work to let them in. We got told it wasn't possible for them to give us a timed slot so we called British Gas ourselves and got told it was possible they just had to request it, M&Co wouldn't, so we did and I was able to work it around my job (but had to organise everything myself). We then got contacted about our yearly inspection, we called and booked it in for my day off, they never showed up. We called to find out that once again, they didn't book it in.
We live in Wokingham but half of our communication comes from the Staines branch. We then got emailed 3 days before rent due to say they were changing the account we needed to pay, we went on to set it up and the bank stated it looked like a scam payment based on the account, we contacted the landlord as it was a Sunday and he said he hadn't authorised any bank change, so it did look like a scam! However, after contacting a very rude woman at M&Co they stated THEY were changing the bank account and we have no right to talk to our own landlord and to pay them immediately and we were lying about the warning from the bank (proof attached). We are on a fully managed contract and have had to organise everything ourselves so far, which is ludicrous. We are fed up with communication from this company and would never rent with them again.

Overall two stars. Rented HMO room through LTD company. The owner of that company was working for or with Martin & Co in Bracknel. The cleaning of the house once every 2 or 4 weeks. At the end of the tenancy they waited until I contacted a solicitor to return my deposit

I was so pleased to have chosen Marin and Co to sell my property. I had consulted four after looking at a lot of websites. Of those, I already like Martin and Co’s. I found it clear, informative, nicely presented and easy to use and I hoped that potential buyers would do so too. All the Agents I spoke to were clearly knowledgeable about the local market and selling prices of similar properties, but Erica particularly drew out factors to distinguish one from another in arriving at her market valuation. I was also impressed by the informative buyers pack that is provided to viewers. I thought their photos and particularly their 360 degree images presented my property to best effect and hoped they would be helpful to potential buyers. Their team of sales negotiators were superb, very professional in all respects - their meeting and greeting of buyer and, their careful noting of key particulars to ensure the most accurate and comprehensive information was provided.Their communications were exemplary, always quick to respond and ensuring all interested parties were kept informed of developments at all times. I thought their performance throughout was outstanding and am very pleased grateful to have chosen this excellent firm.

I have rented a property with Martin and Co in Wokingham for the past 2 years and have recently decided to hand it back and live with friends to save to buy.The experience I had with Martin and Co was superb, I predominantly liaised with Rosemary who was courteous from the start and she treated me almost like a friend throughout my tenancy and through the handing back process, her colleagues are lovely also.I rarely had any need to call the agents but when I did they bent over backwards to accommodate any requirements that I had and they were thoroughly communicative and courteous. DO NOT GO with Martin and CO! I was with Martin and Co (renting) for 2 years. I had maintenence ignored to the extent of a bedroom being inhabitable during winter months as it had a broken window on moving in!! For 2 years the window was left broken, with email receipts to show they were aware from day one! A severe lack of comparison and care was apparent during the entire of my tenancy, even after making them aware I was medically vulnerable (confirmed by the NHS). I lost a lot of my savings having to deal with these people... make sure you don't too.

My opinion is to STAY WELL CLEAR!!
After being a tenant under Martin&Co Wokingham my personal advice to anyone would be that I would NOT recommend Martin&Co. In my personal experience and dealings with Martin&Co and their director I was left to feel as if I was a second-class citizen!! In my personal experience even going as far as stating that we had no rights.
In my personal experience with Martin&Co and dealings with Erica and her team they persisted to in my opinion try to threaten and intimidate, again in my opinion and based off of my personal experience, I was left to feel they used underhand practices to get the outcome they desire.
Personally, as a tenant who values my right to privacy, and right to quiet enjoyment as set out in tenancy agreements. I did not feel as if that was respected or acknowledged by Martin&Co Wokingham. In my experience they contacted me outside of working hours numerous times no matter how many times I requested them not to, I was left to feel harassed. In my experience numerous times Erica phoned/emailed myself when she wanted to, personally I don't want to take calls as late as 8:30pm regarding such matters however I had no choice with Erica. In my personal experience they even went as far as turning up to the home without notice!!
In my personal experience our deposit was not kept in a safe manner and in my opinion was not dealt with professionally and fairly at the end of the tenancy. After numerous requests surrounding our deposit, I'm left to personally feel it is not something Erica and her team at Martin&Co sadly seem to believe in. In my experience our deposit was threatened several times and again in my opinion used as leverage whilst they continued to withhold up to date prescribed information that they were required to provide us with during our tenancy.
In my experience they did not deal with our deposit requests and took the complete allowed time to reply to any requests made from the governing body. They made numerous claims which would seemingly double the following day, I was left to feel as if these were fictitious claims. For us personally it took 4 months to reclaim the deposit when the governing body dismissed many of said claims. In my opinion I would hope and expect a company like Martin&Co to deal with this in a more professional and timely manner.
My advice based on my experience is if you're a landlord that wants to know their property is in the safe hands of professionals, I would highly advise staying clear!! During my dealings with Erica and her team they weren't the best with paperwork and made numerous errors in the actual paperwork they did prescribe!! In my personal experience they left confidential paperwork with high value in an unsecured environment and the team could not even find it at one point. In my experience during this time a staff member was in my opinion incredibly rude to us, even though they could not find our confidential paperwork through their own errors. In my opinion and experience Martin&Co they struggled to acknowledge most of tenancy law, except that which benefited their own motives.
In my experience they took no accountability of their numerous errors and tried to claim the incurred costs of their what I deem as amateur mistakes out of our deposit. In my opinion these mistakes came down to a lack of knowledge within the team and leadership, in my opinion this isn't the behaviour of an honest upfront company, and they should rather deal with their mistakes in a more professional manner.

I have been looking for our next family home for more than a year. Now in the time of soaring prices, the house we like was beyond our budget and whatever was available wasn't good enough. With every passing day and time spent in viewings was like wasting our and agency's time. Martin&Co Wokingham manages our property and we also let a property from them. There team has always been terrific and accommodating of our needs and requests. Most recently, they called us immediately when the tenant reported water dripping from the ceiling and arranged a plumber the same day to fix it. This happened while we were in a desperate situation to find a house where Martin&Co was able to connect us with one of their other tenants who wanted to break contract giving us access to an immaculate property that wasn't even on the market yet. A life-saver! Thank you!

I have been working with Martin and Co in Wokingham for over two years, they have been very helpful in supporting me with my rental properties, initially covering for extended periods while travelling, supporting me with trades and working through compliance with never ending legislation. Over the last year they have worked with me on the business case between HMO and letting to a families, the pros, cons and compliance. As a result of their hard work and dedication I have this month moved one of my HMO properties under full management with Martin and Co Wokingham renting to a family. The speed of marketing and constant viewings had the property let in a week, they have then supported me through contracts, credit checking, latterly Inventory and management of utilities. I absolutely recommend this company, they are organised, efficient and follow the process, whilst giving a 100% personal service. Whilst some agents are focussed on leader boards, sales ratios of enquiries to sales, this agent focussed on customer service, quality and getting things right – If your looking for an agent who will go the extra mile its Martin and Co Wokingham -Absolutely Fantastic.

I don't normally write reviews but i was so impressed today when viewing a property that I felt I had to make an exception.
Rosemary was there to meet us and show us around, she was fantastic!!!. Extremely professional, helpful and made us feel very comfortable. I can honestly say that out of all the agents I've dealt with over the past few weeks, today was the first time I hadn't felt rushed around from the minute I arrived. I would reccomend Martin & Co for a great professional service.

We were renting with another Estate Agent for a while and their bullish and dismissive style was appalling. When our landlord informed us that we are moving to Martin & Co Wokingham our worries quickly dissipated. We were contacted by Erica Townend and we had a long and fruitful meeting resulting in solving all our previous issues. We were impressed by her knowledge, professional and practical approach.
With Martin & Co Wokingham all issues are logged easily in their reporting system and they will usually follow within a business day or even sooner.

A pathetic agency where pathetic people work. We booked a meeting online to see the flat for rent - no one knows anything, no one was interested. After we called to ask if this meeting would take place, the employee promised to call back, no one called. Two hours before the planned meeting, we are calling again to ask the same question, but after the wife introduced herself, the employee of this agency simply hung up, and despite having our two phone numbers, no one tried to contact us anymore. I strongly recommend to avoid this agency, also for people who lease their real estate in. Terribly lazy people feed on them.

By far the worst agency I have ever dealt with, they are dishonest, rude and take advantage of people. The staff changed every month so no way to deal with the same person on an issue, they frequently conduct check out scams in order to mark items as damaged when they in fact weren't and know exactly how to extort additional fees every-step of the way. They even charged me 150£ because I left a brand new trash-bin at the property I didn't want to throw away! Run away from these people, they have no decency and respect for tenants and will take your money from you.

These are the most dishonest and untrustworthy people I have ever dealt with. I rented a flat for three years with them, no repairs were ever carried out, no one could be reached, the heating broke during winter and nothing was done to repair. Above all, they falsified check in reports in order to keep my full deposit. Scam artists who do not deserve to operate. I would advise anyone to never work with them you will be robbed and loose your money.

By far the worst agent I have ever dealt with !! Ran by absolute clueless people!! Tried letting a property. They are incapable of registering details correctly .... don’t follow up..... don’t offer other suggestions and showed NO interest .... they ask for a £1000 holding deposit which is extortionate ridiculous and not what any other agents charge. Absolutely useless!! Warning to all potential landlords - don’t go here!! They have no idea about current legislation / laws abd clearly don’t know how to negotiate. Just awful - if I could give zero stars I would!!
