I've bought many things from ML and Sons over the years, spent a great deal of money and the products have been great. Phoned today to ask advice before buying a Rig Blaster interface. Wanted advice on what lead I needed for my radio. The man answering was abrupt and replied with the words along the lines of "I haven't got a clue. Check their website". A little bit taken aback and disappointed, I rang Radio World and got an immediate answer from a pleasant member of staff. Guess what? I bought it from Radio World. Won't buy there again!

The stock and display stands are brimming with lots of new and used equipment.

Excellent and competitively priced audio gear but what really sets them apart is their customer service. I needed to swap an item - but they didn't have it in stock. "Leave it with me for 15 minutes" - and 15 minutes later, they confirmed that they had found the item and they could deliver it in 48 hours and pick up my return at the same time. Just brilliant. Thank you Tony and team - if I could give you more than 5 stars, I would.

For more than 15 years I have enjoyed the great service of Martin lynch &sons and still to present day the service is even better, especially with having to manage to work through 2020 a year no one will forget, and they have a great knowledge about amateur radio, I recommend them always.

Sent an Email to the shop regarding the correct fittings needed for a project, Had a swift reply from Gary with the answers i needed, ordered around 2pm on 17/11/20 , items arrived before 12pm the next day.
Great customer service and cheaper than some other emporiums. ???? .

Bought an expensive radio from them, they posted it, all seemed well. Until I saw on DPD's website that I have received whilst in fact I did not. Had to run around knocking on neighbours' doors and checker whether they picked it up - no. Telephoned them, was told they posted it to a different address. I asked why and was talk that the person who packed it is away and they call me in 10 mins. In about 15 mins they called and said they can arranged a pickup and redelivery. I said I will do it myself but if there is anything wrong with the radio, I will hold them responsible. Guess what they said? They said 'ok bye'. No apology, nothing! Well, at least I know where not to buy my radio gear.
P.S. P.S. 11.09.2020 - I got a call yesterday from the store. They apologies for this and offered a super acceptable solution. Sadly, there is no way to add comments to the review, so I am now going to amend this one. It was originally one star review but since the issue has been quickly resolved, I am going to put 5 stars!

This is the best ham radio emporium in the UK. Superb knowledgeable staff who actually use and enjoy the stock and the hobby, friendly and helpful. I have never had a bad experience and am often amazed by the speed of delivery if ordering on line - usually next day service.

No problem with the item i purchased, but surely it shouldn't take so long for it to arrive. Ordered on 26/04 and didn't arrive until 05/ 05. with a postage cost of £15.99 i expect no more then 2-3 days. This was a birthday present for 03/05 so missed the mark.Don't think you despatched until the 30/04.

I bought the outstanding FTdx101D in part exchange for my previous rig and (for the first time ever) I felt that I should leave some feedback. Tony, the sales manager, was exceptionally pleasant, informative and helpful. We reached a mutually acceptable part-exchange deal quickly and he was really obliging in getting the exchanged rig back to ML&S, providing a suitable box and packing material. To my great surprise the rig arrived the next morning! The after-sales support was second-to-none, with especial thanks to Mark who has a deep understanding of the settings and quirks of this particular transceiver. Top marks!

Martin Lynch & Sons selling poor quality Cushcraft/MFJ products: Bought an antenna for £700 and on assembly it was found to have a number of poor quality control issues; ordered antenna and waited 5 weeks for delivery, parcel arrived poorly packaged fixed only at top and bottom of long cardboard box - it was possible to reach inside to the contents, so it came as little surprise that parts were missing. Martin Lynch & Sons had to contact MFJ to get the missing parts and again as the parts sent were not correct and had to be sent again; listed below are some of the issues:
1. Holes are not drilled in correct position on some of the elements, and holes not drilled correctly on U bolt mount clamp causing the element to be off-square with the boom. There are a lot of differences in the holes from bracket to bracket, these clearly have not been made up in a jig and appear to have been drilled haphazardly.
2. On working out the mounting bracket for the mast, it was supposed to be positioned 7 feet away from the reflector, but the distance between the reflector and the driven element is also 7 feet, this is a mis-print in the instructions and as such I do not know the correct position for the mast mounting. On fixing the driven element at 7 feet, there is a double layer of pipe so a larger U bolt should have been supplied which was not, and is not shown in the instructions. So the U bolt supplied had to be bent to make it fit with the downside being that it is not seated properly on the boom.
3. It is not possible to obtain a gap of 5 and three quarter inches between the loading traps as stated in the instructions as the ends of the traps touch when fitted, and would need to be cut in order to create the correct spacing.
Well this antenna is still in the box and not fit for purpose , it was ML&S who sold me this rubbish and as the retailer you are responsable for the products you sell, i have since purchased another antenna for less with better build quality. There was no reply to email sent to ML&S about these issues.

Great place. Nice staff. This is the place to come if you want your radio installed. The only thing I would say is M&L work extremely hard and do all they can do to make sure every customer is left happy. The guys there are great. What's missing is it's an all Male office. Do we not have female staff. Be good to see female staff for a change. Come on guys......
The couriers that are used in my experience and belief have on occasions not provided a service that M&L rely on. No courier service is perfect and I do think when a courier does not deliver and high standards are not met that is expected by M&L then the Courier should refund part cost of delivery charge back to the customer. Thus fair.

Credit where credit is due, a phone call was received later on changing their mind yet again about stock levels and apparently they do now have stock as originally promised this morning. I've no idea what's going but I have to be fair and say that they did listen to a customer complaint and actually do something about it.

I'm sure customers in store may have a different experience but wow these people are hard work to deal with online! As the website is unable to tell anyone if an item is actually in stock, I called the shop this morning to check and was told that they had "plenty in stock, no problem". Based on this information I placed the order, only to be told two hours later that they don't really have any in stock and it will be multiple days before they even receive the antenna from the manufacturers. Needless to say I cancelled my order and I'll be very dubious about using these people again.

Martin Lynch and sons is a very interesting visit for any Radio Amateur or Listener. A wide range of equipment and accessories adorn every surface and much of it is available to try as long as you have a licence. If you do not then ML&S run classes to enable you to become a licenced Radio Amateur and to take part in the myriad of different activities available to us including Amateur television, Data Comms, Space communications, Working through satellites and many others.
The services includes Sales, Repairs, Training and many others.

It's been a while since first visiting ML&S, many years ago when they were based in Ealing, but it's still a great experience and not too much has changed. Everyone is very knowledgeable and very helpful. Plus they have a vast array of stock, much of which is on display so you can easily have a browse in your own time before buying. Will definitely be popping back in next time I am in the area.

Friendly staff; my visit was pre-arranged and they were expecting me OK. Total visit time about 60 minutes. Tea/coffee provided. There was only one free parking place when I arrived, none when I left, could have been tricky at a weekend!

I visited the store near Heathrow to buy a couple of handheld scanners. I am not a radioamateur so my knowledge is limited.
I got help from a younger employee, who I was later told was new in the shop. He was very serviceminded and helpful.
First, I needed help in choosing the scanner fit for my use. I asked for multiple options, and he showed me not the most expensive, but the most fitting product for my needs. He showed great knowledge about the product and helped me understand it a little more.
Second, I asked for a VAT refund , which he then offered to fill in all the relevant information for me, even though it took a while.
It was great talking to this guy during the wait.
Also, maybe a underestimated "skill", but I really do appreciate when he was uncertain about something, he checked with the other employees. That kind of humility make me a comfortable customer that there will be no issues later on.
