I'm leaving this review to highlight the fantastic support we received from Omar Robertson at Stirling Ackroyd Estate Agents in South Norwood, particularly in relation to our recent rental flat occupation.
From the very start, Omar was professional, approachable, and incredibly knowledgeable. He took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure we understood each step of the review process. His communication was consistent and thorough, and he made what could have been a complex and stressful experience feel smooth and manageable.
What really stood out was how hard Omar worked behind the scenes. It was clear he had put serious time and effort into making sure all the right people were involved in the workshop. First didn‘t receive a call back when I had left a number (I called at 5.30pm when they are supposedly open but their answering machine said no one was available); ended up having to call them myself, their advisor agreed after some emails with seller and me on a time, send a confirmation email and all sorted for my viewing.
Then day of the scheduled viewing another employee calls me to say that the agreed time actually is half an hour after their working hours for them so either I make it earlier or the viewing wouldn‘t go ahead. They had agreed on it in the first place?! Clearly not interested to make a sale with this inflexible approach. I‘ve done various viewings and mostly estate agents go above and beyond (as you would expect in a sales team) also in terms of communications so absolutely don‘t settle for this brand and branch.
Since I was unable to move work commitments on short notice I couldn’t view the property at all, they were entirely unhelpful, not suggesting alternative times, not using any sales tactics and verbiage at all, seemingly just wanting to do the least work possible and log off.

Louis was very helpful and professional, observed all social distancing guidelines and got all our letting sorted out in a very professional manner. Our dealings with rest of the Townends team have also been incredible, much better than our last agent.
We loved Townends and the review above is for them. Sterling Ackroyd are awful, impersonal and best avoided.

I would like to say a huge thanks to Simon Bright and his team (Stirling Ackroyd South Norwood branch) with regards to the sale of my property. From start to finish of the entire process Simon was professional, knowledgeable, diligent and patient. At the marketing and viewing stage, Simon and his team managed to get multiple offers within the first week of viewings. Even after hitting an obstacle in the sale process with the initial buyer (totally out of Stirling Ackroyd’s control). Simon and his team remained positive, remarketed the property and again managed to arrange several viewings and get an offer within 2 weeks of relisting. To which I accepted the offer, and exchange and completion managed to successfully take place with the new buyer. I would definitely recommend Simon Bright and his team if you plan to sell a property in the South Norwood area.

In the marketing and viewing stage, his team were respectful and fully engaged Once an offer had been accepted on our property, (after only 3 weeks of being on the market) Simon expertly guided us through the process - whilst seamlessly balancing the needs of all parties on both sides of the chain. Not an easy task! I have two types of agents I often use, ones I work with and one I build relationships with. I have worked with Taija from the Streatham branch and followed her to the Norwood office, even requesting her help to manage my portfolio in and outside of her patch to other areas of south London. Not only is she committed to achieving a positive outcome. If there is a problem that falls slightly outside of the remit of her roll, but into that of an other departments she has followed that issue through to completion ensuring it lands on target.
I have rated this service 5 stars as not only have they jumped though hoops to deliver on what they have promised. I noticed they work harmoniously internally to give the end client what they need from the service.

The sterling Arckroyd Estate agents is the best among the best, their staffs manner of approach both physical and on phones is superb, the schedule of viewing is always on point, never waste of time or delay. The property display on their site is exactly the same with what we see.
The period of confirming the references is accurate. Till the schedule time of collecting the key.
They are honest and transparent, no hidden charges

Gave this review when the business was called Townsend in 2018. Gave me incorrect information regarding a parking spot supposedly attached to a property I rented which caused me to incur three parking fines. They accepted liability for the charges and then refused to pay. The landlord they set me up with was also very unprofessional and abusive in his communication with me. Avoid.

Jad was really helpful, kept me updated as offten as he could. I would recommend. Only negative is my checkin was for 1345. I was only informed about when i could get the keys the day before, so could not book mover accuratley. To top it off the inventory lady was late by an hour (train delay), the agency could have had me come to get the keys so i would not spend more on the movers that charge £65 an hour. I would recommend beacuse they are very helpful when you call

My partner and I were looking for a flat to rent as our first family home, when we contacted Townsend about a property they were very quick and efficient to get back to us. We then had a viewing booked very quickly, we loved it so we put in an offer and got the flat which we moved into today. With the help of Gavin and Gemma, we were about to move in stress free, we were always informed of what was going on and what was needed which made this experience lovely. It was my first time being a landlord and I decided to use Townends which was the worst decision as they never called me to update me on the viewings etc and it took them over 4 weeks to find me a tenant who was not the working professional they claim to find. Awful service. Would not recommend.

The letting agents at Townsend, at the South Norwood high street branch are very professional and has gone above and beyond to help us out. We recently failed on our references checks on a hot property that was on the market and instead of telling us to be on our way Kia and Gavin ( from South Norwood branch office) has initiated a meeting with the landlord.
