The Woman we dealt with who we believe is possibly a partner repeatedly didn’t find answers to our questions, it seemed as if it were a constant battle throughout, she also came across false and over the top. As far as the owner of the company goes one meeting was enough for us. Occasionally we spoke with other employees who were always friendly and efficient, shame the same can’t be said for management.

Maeve and the legal team have been exceptionally helpful and responsive throughout the whole process. They've always been on hand to answer our queries and were prompt in requesting information from our sellers. So we would be more than happy to recommend them to others who are in the property market.
20th Nov 2025 (13 weeks ago)We are still mid missives, moving towards exchange of contract day, but so far, it's all been good. I was selling on behalf of my brother with dementia, but they were very understanding and helpful. Advertising etc was good - it was not an easy property to sell, but they did it. All communications have been clear and good. I only did 4 stars for value for money as we are yet to see what the final costs will be. Nonetheless, as I live far away, it was important to have someone deal with everything, swiftly, simply and with clarity.

We have worked with Paris Steele since 2016, when they were our letting agent also. Paris Steele have been nothing but professional. I heartily recommend them as your solicitors for conveyancing.
16th Feb 2022 (3 years ago)Worst company imaginable. Gave us misinformation for over six months regarding entry dates and also told us development was finished when it was not. Double check everything you are told by them. They misled us and we ended up over £18000 out of pocket. Avoid this company at all cost. They don’t admit liability for anything they do.

Selling real estate with her and her team was easy from start to finish. Excellent and fast communication with the client, timely assistance in any questions regarding the sale or purchase of real estate. I highly recommend!

10th Oct 2019 (6 years ago)I've recently made my will and power of attorney, I've now lost count of how many times I've had to go in to the (Haddington) office as they keep on getting names and addresses wrong. Told them numerous times but clearly not paying attention to detail.

3rd Nov 2023 (2 years ago)(While the company did finally provide compensation, it's important to note that I still experienced a significant opportunity cost as a result of their actions.) It has undeniably been the most regrettable experience of my lifetime, dealing with a solicitor team that exhibited a severe lack of professionalism and courtesy. Initially, I placed my trust in them based on their positive Google reviews, which now appear to be misleading and have led to significant frustration and inconvenience on my part. The solicitor in question was Shari, who astonishingly took a full year to complete the anti-money laundering check, despite my having submitted all required documents promptly. To compound matters, she repeatedly requested the same information, leading to redundant submissions. Regrettably, she ceased all communication, failing to respond to both my emails and those from the seller's side. My attempts to reach her went unanswered for two months until she seemingly disappeared without a trace. I was dismayed to find myself in such a predicament. In desperation, I enlisted the assistance of the estate agent, who contacted Joni, the National Head of Conveyancing. However, this interaction proved to be equally disheartening, as Joni not only displayed a lack of professionalism but also declined to provide any insight into the unilateral breach of contract, responding in a profane manner. I strongly advise against engaging with this company. As a result of their inefficiency, my funds remained in limbo within my bank account, as I had initially believed they could promptly resolve their business matters. Consequently, I have incurred substantial financial losses due to the failure of Simpson & Marwick to deliver on their commitments.

The North Berwick team were always responsive and friendly, and above all professional. They know their business.

The work they did was fantastic and I would recommend Paris Steeles Dunbar Office and Staff to anyone looking for solicitng/conveyancing services. The same cannot be said for the North Berwick Office. I was with them initially before being passed to the Dunbar team and the difference was night and day.

The quality of the work by the photographer and Home Report agent, chosen by Burgh, was exemplary. From start to finish it only took three days to have a number of offers and four days to achieve an excellent offer.Burgh made the whole process of selling very easy and comfortable.

Our estate agent took the time to get to know us on a personal level, and made the effort to understand our needs. He explained the marketing strategy, answered all enquiries with detail and oversaw all the viewings. He really owned the process and kept us updated every step of the way! Looking back now, the journey has been nothing but an enjoyable success. Thank you
