20th Jan 2026 (20 days ago)I would strongly advise anyone considering renting through Fulfords to not bother. I moved into a property in February 2025 that was not fit to be handed over to a new tenant. Numerous maintenance issues were outstanding, cleaning had not been done properly, and problems raised by the previous tenant had simply been ignored. From day one, I was forced to chase repairs that should have been completed before I moved in. Communication was consistently poor. Emails went unanswered for weeks, contractors either did not turn up or were never instructed properly, and at one point the agent was contacting the wrong tenant entirely about works. I spent an unreasonable amount of my own time following up, coordinating access, and repeatedly explaining the same issues to different people. Matters became so badly handled that I was forced to escalate a formal complaint to The Property Ombudsman. The complaint was upheld, and compensation was awarded for service failures and poor handling of the tenancy. Even after this, unresolved issues remained. When I eventually moved out, Fulfords attempted to deduct money from my deposit for minor cosmetic issues, despite the fact the property was handed to me in a far worse condition and despite their own service failures being formally recognised. Only after pushing back firmly did they agree to return my deposit in full. I literally moved out of the property with the same issues not fixed. I would imagine that the new tenant will have the same issues to deal with. Renting is stressful enough without having to fight your letting agent at every stage. This was by far the worst renting experience I have ever had, not because of the property itself, but because of the way it was managed. I would not rent through Fulfords again and I suggest you don't either. If I could rate them lower than 1 star I would. Avoid at all costs.
6th Jan 2026 (5 weeks ago)I would highly recommend Samuels Estate Agents in Exeter to anyone considering selling their home. My experience has been a very positive one. Andy was very knowledgeable and reassuring at the point of agreement to sell and the team supporting him have been exceptional. Nothing has been too much bother. Regular updates on progress and feedback on viewings were very helpful. The friendly professional and supportive approach by everyone has made what can be a challenging time less stressful and more ‘enjoyable’ ???? - so if you are looking for a hard working, professional , knowledgable, kind and supportive team of people look no further than Samuels .

They were always approachable, easy to speak to, and kept everything moving smoothly. I would happily recommend them to anyone looking to buy or sell with them.
21st Jan 2026 (19 days ago)These guys were our estate agents for student rent from 2021-23. They are unbelievably useless, when we moved in the place had not be cleaned and the kitchen was unusable. Rotting food in the fridges and freezers, old used oil in containers on the counters, rusted out microwave that could not be used. Problems were never addressed, we had to sort it out ourselves. Not only this but when we moved in, having already paid 2 months of rent, they did not have the keys ready for us. Their communication and general management of the property is lazy.

Emma was fantastic—her consistent communication, warmth, and professionalism made the process as smooth as can be. We always felt supported and well-informed. Highly recommend!

He went above and beyond to maintain excellent communication with all parties, showing empathy, professionalism, and not a little dogged determination. Thankyou Tom for everything!

10th Jun 2024 (1 year ago)The literal embodiment of why estate management companies have a poor reputation. 6 estate managers in 6 years. No AGM organised in 5 years, 6 months to deal with a blocked drain caused by their own contractor. 2 months and 6 emails and not a blade of grass cut in the estate with tall weeds growing from tarmac pathways. Good at talking, not so good at doing, Excuse after excuse.

7th Jan 2026 (5 weeks ago)After meeting several estate agents and getting valuations from all them, we were immediately impressed by Knight Franks professional and friendly approach plus their positive response to our property. Although we waited quite a long time to decide to proceed, Knight Frank were understanding, realistic, efficient and professional throughout. They prepared marketing materials, gave clear information about pricing, targeted appropriate clients for our property throughout a very difficult time. Florence Biss was our main contact and we cannot rate her highly enough, great communication, positive throughout and always responsive to our concerns. We ultimately achieved a positive outcome to a very complicated sale of house, land and outbuildings which I am not sure we would have achieved with some of the other companies. I am happy to recommend Knight Frank
22nd Jan 2021 (5 years ago)Southgate originally acted as letting agents for our property - they are efficient, reliable and nothing was too much trouble. They have now acted as selling agents, this took a bit longer than anticipated but Southgate agents have kept us informed and been helpful during the whole process.
17th Oct 2025 (16 weeks ago)I rented a property via West/East of Exe for two years. It was a perfectly good experience. They were always friendly and responsive, and I had a good experience for viewing and securing the property, moving in, dealing with maintenance requests (of which there were only a few), and then the end of tenancy and move out process. It is worth noting that as West of Exe are an agent, to some degree the tenant experience also depends on how helpful and responsive the landlord is. In my case the landlord was quick to respond to the agency, and was very fair and reasonable, agreeing to the few maintenance requests I made. Repairs were arranged quickly. I also had no problem at the end of the tenancy - I returned the property in the condition I received it and my deposit was returned without question or hassle - again, this is also likely to be dependant on having a reasonable landlord behind the agency. Overall I had a good and smooth experience as a tenant.

Throughout the whole process the Team at East of Exe, Jo, Tilly and Matt have supported us. Professional, knowledgeable,calm and efficient, we cannot recommend them highly enough.
27th Jan 2026 (13 days ago)Tristan Redburn was the third estate agent we had, after 2 failed sales. The service he provides goes way way beyond any other agent, and he quickly found us a buyer who actually got to completion. Tristan was available literally 24/7; we felt like we were his only clients (we weren't!) and he was highly professional and exceptionally flexible throughout. Having found us a buyer he chased the conveyancing process to ensure there were no delays, pushing to maintain momentum while also keeping a friendly, approachable manner. He gave good advice and steered us through difficult negotiations. We would 100% recommend him to anyone; he is absolute gold. Can't recommend him highly enough.

Darron was in regular contact, quickly responding to any questions or queries. Everything with my purchase went incredibly smoothly, and was kept on track in no small part by the team at Hunters.
4th Dec 2022 (3 years ago)We chose Savills because they appeared to be the most efficient and proactive company we approached to sell our home. Unfortunately once we’d signed up, they weren’t reliable and didn’t communicate with us regularly. Phone calls weren’t returned, our agent was never available when we rang. Feedback only given twice in 6 months. We have now taken our property off the market until next year.
