6th Apr 2024 (23 weeks ago)Our experience with Mov8 was easy they kept us informed with viewing and communication was prompt. The only thing was their offices are in Edinburgh and Glasgow and we are in Carnoustie which was a little inconvenient if we needed to go to their office to sign things
14th Mar 2024 (6 mo. ago)Lack of communication and not pro-active as I had to instigate them doing anything. Pricing is terrible everything is an extra add on with vat on everything. Too expensive for lack of contact and or proactivity.

21st Aug 2024 (26 days ago)Very pleased with Your Move Dalgety Bay's performance for a recent property sale. Everything went extremely smoothly, and almost exclusively by phone as I was away at the time. Achieved far more views than a previous estate agent, and secured the price I wanted.

Nothing was too much trouble. We also used there solicitors fir our sale & the purchase of our new property. We would definitely use Thorntons again & highly recommend. Thank you to everyone who helped us

Reassuring and positive. Information given is clear, instructive and they have answered any questions that arose. Highly recommend and very grateful to all the staff along the way.
3rd Nov 2023 (10 mo. ago)(While the company did finally provide compensation, it's important to note that I still experienced a significant opportunity cost as a result of their actions.) It has undeniably been the most regrettable experience of my lifetime, dealing with a solicitor team that exhibited a severe lack of professionalism and courtesy. Initially, I placed my trust in them based on their positive Google reviews, which now appear to be misleading and have led to significant frustration and inconvenience on my part. The solicitor in question was Shari, who astonishingly took a full year to complete the anti-money laundering check, despite my having submitted all required documents promptly. To compound matters, she repeatedly requested the same information, leading to redundant submissions. Regrettably, she ceased all communication, failing to respond to both my emails and those from the seller's side. My attempts to reach her went unanswered for two months until she seemingly disappeared without a trace. I was dismayed to find myself in such a predicament. In desperation, I enlisted the assistance of the estate agent, who contacted Joni, the National Head of Conveyancing. However, this interaction proved to be equally disheartening, as Joni not only displayed a lack of professionalism but also declined to provide any insight into the unilateral breach of contract, responding in a profane manner. I strongly advise against engaging with this company. As a result of their inefficiency, my funds remained in limbo within my bank account, as I had initially believed they could promptly resolve their business matters. Consequently, I have incurred substantial financial losses due to the failure of Simpson & Marwick to deliver on their commitments.
6th Feb 2023 (1 year ago)If it was possible, I'd have given Abbey Forth zero stars. Here's my experience with them: The place I rented from Abbey Forth had not been cleaned when I moved in. It was in a disgusting state with several broken fixtures. I took many photos and informed them that, because I was having to clean my new flat, I wouldn't be paying for the place to be professionally cleaned when I moved out. Throughout my year at the property, they were unprofessional and unhelpful when other problems arose: trying to charge me for boiler repairs (a boiler which was leaking on day 1), failing to resolve a drainage issue outside the kitchen door and, worst of all, falling to resolve an infestation of slugs in the kitchen - an obvious health hazard. When I moved out, they unsurprisingly tried to deduct £190 from my deposit for cleaning. I successfully disputed this charge with the deposit scheme, using the pictures and emails I'd sent them over the length of the tenancy. The deposit scheme found that, as the property was not cleaned to a good condition for the start of the tenancy, that I should only having to pay £60 In summary: Abbey Forth is the worst estate agent I've ever used. Rude staff and a general ethos of trying to squeeze money out of tenants for as little effort as possible. Only sign up with them if you are desperate and have no other options. If this is the case, then please make sure you document everything for inevitable struggle to get your deposit back

We had used Neilsons in the past, and found them to be excellent, so got in touch with Claire Scott this time. Her advice and service has been excellent throughout, as we navigated a challenging process where we had to withdraw from a purchase due to an undisclosed major outstanding works, and look for another property instead, to really tight timescales. Claire was calm, extremely efficient and helpful throughout, with great advice around offers, and negotiating terms. She helped us through some tricky obstacles along the way, and we couldn’t recommend her or Neilsons highly enough.

The mortgage adviser, Craig, made the process stress free and simple for us, and the process was signed and sealed in a matter of days from our offer being accepted. I would highly recommend Craig and Regents Estates and Mortgages.

Adam, Mharie and Michaela in the sales team were very helpful and special thanks to Lenka the conveyancing solicitor who really went above and beyond to help me with a few issues I had. Thanks folks
23rd Aug 2024 (24 days ago)Our journey with Avenue Road began back in 2023 with a competitive valuation from Jennifer. We went to market and had a number of viewings lined up, all expertly handled by Jennifer who was in constant contact and proactively gave us feedback from viewers. Within 6 weeks we had a VERY reasonable offer on the table and were excited to move. When an unexpected turn of events meant we had to withdraw from the sale whilst we were abroad, Jennifer handled everything for us. One phone call and all parties were informed and our listing mothballed until such a time as we were ready to go back to market. Truly, I have no words to describe how easy she made this really difficult time for us. When we were ready to return to market some 6 months later, Jennifer had everything ready to go and in 24 hours we had a weekend of viewings booked in. In a matter of days we were under offer again. From the offer acceptance right the way through to completion, Jennifer was there for us and provided a truly seamless service liaising with lawyers on both sides of the sale and assisting us with the handover of keys on completion day when we were unable to be there ourselves. Be in no doubt, if you instruct Avenue Road you will be working with the best in the business! Their market knowledge and communication are second to none.

5th Jul 2024 (10 weeks ago)BE VERY CAREFUL!!! Once these lot have your deposit they ignore you. We agreed to buy a buy to let from these and went through the mortgage application with our own agent. We then found out they had overvalued thr property by a fair amount, not allowing us to get a mortgage. We were then told we had to use their mortgage person, which cost us another £300 but we had no option. They also could not get us a mortgage because the value was less than 50k. Upon telling these lot, they are now ignoring our calls, you can't speak to the refund team as only on email, no managers have phones and they won't give us our deposit back even though it states we are entitled to it back for following their stipulations. I'm no being ignored by the salesman Jack and no one will return emails etc. I will be taking this to the Ombudsman too, to highlight this appalling service and blatant overvalued to gain mortgage applicants. They had the same listing on their site for £52,500 and £46,000. We found this after we had agreed a price. So be very careful not to deal with these people. They are rude and have total lack of customer service once they have your deposit. Zero stars from me!!!
