I've been renting my house out with Bridgfords for over five years now. I opted for the full management package, which is a little more expensive but worth it for someone like me who needs to own and rent a property but doesn't have time to manage all the ins and outs herself. The company communicates really well with me and a simple email or phone call when something needs doing, and all I have to do is sanction whatever work / repair / issue needs sorting, and they sort it for me. It's the very easy way to rent out a house. They listen to what I want and make it all as painless as possible! They have proved themselves completely efficient and reliable and I always get very clear statements about monies, and very detailed reports and photos of my house during a changeover of tenant. They look after my property and my tenant really well - and so I'm a very satisfied client! They're very friendly too - so do keep up the good work!!... Read more

My son renting property from bridgfords mold and damp in the ceiling. Previously 2 more tenants before moved out because of same problem yet they send decorators in to cover the mould knowing fine it's not livable. They are due a new born in March still nothing done but sent builder around saying its condensation yea whatever. Saying to them which by the way are a young couple having there 1st born .they are now threatened they cant leave because in contract for 12 months absolutely disgraceful now have raw sewage coming in under sink under no circumstances use this firm... Edit: having initially given an excellent review (which was solicited in any event as bonuses are linked to it) it later transpired that promises had been made to a tenant for improvements without authorisation by us, having lodged a complaint, it was dismissed out of hand in a rude and arrogant manner stating incorrect ‘legal advice’. After the complaint, the tenant was contacted directly by Bridgfords we assume in order to attempt to cause further issues between us, we can only guess that it was as retaliation for the complaint, luckily we have an excellent relationship with all our tenants and we were able to compromise on the minor matters raised, we would not use Bridgfords again. I have removed the individuals name from the original review to avoid embarrassment.... Read more

From the start to the finish Hilton Smythe, especially Rob. Where very professional, friendly and genuine. Unfortunately, I did not sell my business although there was interest, but this was likely due to the Corona virus rather than their efforts. Due to the current climate I have opted to remove my business from being for sale. I would highly recommend and will be using them again with another business I own in the near future.... Read more

Under no circumstances sell your business with Hilton Smythe. We made the unfortunate decision to sign a six month contract with them back in February this year to sell our shop. A valuer visited us and told us that if we paid so much upfront, they'd be no more fee's to pay and if the shop wasn't sold within six months we could simply pull it off the market or go with someone else. It was originally marketed and valued at £50,000. Initially we had a lot of interest and a sale looked likely. Then lockdown happened three weeks into the shop being advertised and all went quiet until late July, early August. Barely anything from Hilton Smythe. This we had expected due to the circumstances. In the meantime, the shop has been open and trading extremely well. Then come early August, we start being messed around by the agent. Suddenly and without any warning another agent has taken over and is arranging viewings with people who are not properly vetted. We're let down at the last minute by people who don't show up. We then reduce the price of our business in an effort to sell quicker, even then the agents kept calling with offer's well below the new asking price and when we turned them all down, we were made to feel like we're the ones being unreasonable and as though we should just accept any offer. Low and behold, we have decided to take our business off the market. Our contract ran out on August 2nd, therefore we are now out of contract. But... Hilton Smythe have stated that we have to give them six weeks notice for them to take our business off the market and in this time, we must accept viewings else we are liable for a fee of almost £3,000! We only received an actual copy of our contract, the day we gave Hilton Smythe our notice, which was two days ago. Yesterday, emails were flying back and forth between Myself and the agency over yet another no show. Hilton Smythe have become bullies and will stoop to any depths. They're not on the sellers side, the very people paying them and they will send anyone, unvetted, to waste your time on the promise of a sale. No matter how hard you try to get out of it, they will use 'the contract' against you. Do expect a level of stress that will drive you to the brink of a nervous breakdown and if you have a decent business, expect it to be adversely affected by bogus buyers phoning them and then you being forced into showing such people around! I urge anyone thinking of selling a business, go elsewhere. I wish I had seen some of these reviews back in February.... Read more

Very helpful and professional staff. When we arrived at the rental and found the stove unusable due to filth, they promptly arranged for it to be cleaned. They also offered to reimburse us for any costs related to clean-up of the outside garden. They have been a positive letting agency to work with. Recommended!... Read more

Where do I begin with this one. 6 months of trying to rent through them. They do not answer messages. Don't answer calls. Can't be arsed to send offers through to landlords. Ignorant. Arrogant. And wholly inept . Don't even bother Edit. In response. Indeed, we have spoken. But again, I viewed ONE property. I have enquired, in excess, of over a DOZEN. and in that period, you yourself admitted that I had been missed of the list. I have left over 30 messages with the 'so called' answering agent and been left with nothing but a singular dismissive email I have attempted to swing the odds in my favour on those properties Via multiple means, including adding to the monthly rate. Something that I am going to assume that you never even passed to the landlords But at no point, has any member of your staff even bothered to contact me back. That is the reason for this review. And shall we go into details.. Is it because I am on benefits?.. Disabled?... because I find it unpleasantly obvious that we are treated as second class citizens. And in light of recent court cases, I would have thought that you would be aware that discrimination from a landlord, reflects badly against yourself. And yes, I was Short tempered. As once again, an attempt to deal with you in a pleasant manner resulted in me being ignored. I played the game your way. And it wasn't a pleasant experience . Do not attempt to pass your short comings back to the client. And as for the other reviews. If they ever bother to get back to me.. or learn how a calendar works, then perhaps they will change. I am also more than happy to release my "aggressive" call to you. As ALL the calls I make are recorded.. And if anyone else wants to hear them. They are more than welcome.
