I would not recommend Mark Templer to ANYONE!
I have never left a bad review in my life but my experience with Mark Templer has left me and my partner very frustrated and in a vulnerable position.
Me & my partner were in the process of purchasing a property through Mark Templer earlier this year and it has been nothing but hassle from start to finish.
1) Phone calls were never returned. We called in 4 times on the same day and it got to a point where I had to visit in person to actually get an answer
2) We were waiting for days to receive an email response on simple queries
3) Sales progression did very little to help us and our situation
4) Being told the wrong information on multiple occasions
5) Dishonesty about property history i.e why it previously fell through with the 1st buyers
6) When complaining to Mark Templer himself, he didn't understand and was unwilling to listen to our grievances about the poor service of his company.
After this uncomfortable process, our purchase fell through due to dishonesty and poor communication.
All in all I recommend to keep your distance from this appalling company as the service was shocking and disappointing.
When Chris Woodward came to work at Woods he energetically took up the problems I was experiencing with the flat I was renting and had them resolved quickly. It was a long standing problem so I was very grateful. He kept in contact with me throughout, letting me know progress which made me feel taken care of. Chris has a genuine interest in ensuring his clients (people renting) get the service they require. He provides the same service you would expect for a landlord. From my experience this is unusual so Chris is a great asset to Woods in Portishead. If you want to rent a property with Woods, Chris will take good care of you.
Terrible. We rented our house out through Woods, and it came back to us in such an awful state (our en-suite shower was in such a ruin that an entire wall had to come down and be rebuilt, we had a bath that had been leaking through to the kitchen for two years, holes in the wall through to the outside, rusted kitchen, she moved somebody else in who was never referenced, and more). We've been back in our house three months now, and I still can't get answers as to how our tenant was allowed to get away with what she did.
All the inspection reports came back as "good", and yet she literally caused thousands of pounds of damage to our property which has taken months to sort out. I've been trying to get a call from their head office ever since but no response. This has cost us thousands of pounds to get the house sorted out, and a ton of stress.
I've tried addressing this by phone call, by email, and with several visits to the Portishead branch, and I tried doing this for three months.
Finally, I reached out to them on their Facebook page but it was, apparently, easier for them to delete the content and close the page down than it was to pick up the phone and call me to address my concerns. Bad service from start to finish and I guess their social media team is about as competent as their lettings team.

Having now found a beautiful cottage through other estate agents I can quite honestly say that Mr Smith was rude, obnoxious and unpleasant. Although his staff were always happy to help, He is someone I will be avoiding in the future.
