I would highly recommend John D Wood & Co. From all the real estate agencies we have been in contact with during our search to rent a property, they have been the kindest and most professional. Rosemary and Leanna made the process so easy, always responded promptly to our emails and phone calls, explained everything in detail and kept us updated regularly. From start to finish they were so helpful. In addition, the agency is environmentally friendly. We didn't have to print anything and fill forms by hand because all of their forms are digital. An absolute dissapoontment! Very good at locking ur money away but not providing ant security at all. They’ve reassure us all will be ready after triple checking and explaining that we have to leave in hollidays, made us pack the house, 1 hour left to sign the contract and get hold of the keys they say landlord decided otherwise. A day before that landlord was all “happy and ready” as per Joe’s speech. All references checked all was fine, no protection at all for tenants , puttinf people at risk of dropping other houses and ending up on streets!... Read more

Dealt with Alex and made an above asking price offer and sent a my mortgage in principal to him was assured it would take 24 hours to get back to me, that was on a Thursday......... fri, sat , Monday and still no word from Alex. Which I was upset about as I had told about my sons motorbike accident and the fact his paralysed now and I need a house close to my work to be able to take care of him......Monday I rung 3 times only to be spoken quiet abruptly to be a female who kept telling me i was ringing the “ Letting number “ and couldn’t slam the phone down quick enough. Even though it’s the only number . Alex was suppose to be in the office again at 1 so by 3.30 I again called and hey presto Alex. Which I was hoping was no news was good new but only to be told he had just got off the phone with the sellers and they had excepted the other offer as they had upped the price over the weekend but when I had spoken to Alex at the weekend he didn’t mention non of this as I would have upped my offer too. I asked why he had not given me the opportunity to increase my offer rather than just shoot me out of the water, again a lot pathetic chat about nothing ( basically telling me lies ). When I asked to speak to the manager Alex said he was busy on the phone yet when I said I’d wait he the turned round and said he went into the office and he wasn’t there. Cannot believe how such a bunch of people can carry on like this- 100% un-professional, no communication skills, they have failed to even give a proper, fair service to all customers. I would never be wasting my time with them again as they seem very selective in the sales. Personally I would warn all to go else where as talking to others this estate agents is not great for reliability anyway, GOOD LUCK... Read more

We rented a flat through Intercounty Great Dunmow recently. Here's my review. Positive points - they're friendly. Negative points. Firstly they gave us a faulty key. The first time my partner got to try it was 1am after a long shift, and he had to wait for two hours in his car in the cold before I heard the phone ring. No apology from Intercounty. We asked them to get us a working key, but they told us it wasn't their responsibility (and they told us they didn't hold any other keys, which turned out to be a lie. Well, their spare key was also broken, but they didn't know that until a lot later, when a potential buyer turned up to view the property!). They provided us with incorrect account details of the landlords for the standing order, leading to wasted time for both us and the landlords. Again, no apology. They then instructed the landlords to get the boiler checked, shortly after check-in. The landlords were in the process of organizing it, when my partner remembered reading in the literature that it had been done about 2 weeks previously! Luckily he saved the landlords some unnecessary expense. A month after moving out, we got an email from from Intercounty asking where we left the keys. Obviously we left them with Intercounty, where else! I told them so, and pointed out that they made a copy of them, and we had signed a form. They then emailed back asking for a copy of the receipt! At this point we'd had enough, so I told them to remove my email address and phone number from their records. It didn't help that the emails lacked any sort of grammar, punctuation etc. It looked like it had been written by an 8 year old. It also wouldn't take a genius to realize that the check-out team had managed to access the flat a day after we vacated, so even if they are that disorganized, they could surely have asked the check-out team who they returned the keys to! To summarize, they are friendly, but I wouldn't trust them to manage any of my properties!... Read more
