   We had a very positive home-finding and move-in experience with the Brown&Merry Lettings Team. Emily and Ellie were especially a pleasure to work with: they both provided us with a really smooth and efficient service from passing on our initial offer, through property viewing, referencing to contract signing and handing us the keys to our lovely new home. They even surprised us with a personalised Home Move Box, which was such a nice touch and made us feel so welcome. I and my husband can only recommend Emily, Ellie and their Lettings Team to other prospective lettings customers looking for a great service. I would also like to give a big shout out for Gemma for her amazingly efficient and expert mortgage advice and matching us with the best mortgage lenders.    Slow to give feedback on viewings. I had to chase after a couple of days but improved when I complained. Some rushed viewings . One agent arrived and said it had to be quick and she had asked the buyer to come earlier. Another told a late buyer asked to come at 8.45am on arrival that they only had 15 minutes so it would be a quick look . We were told they had a large database of buyers but I wonder if just relying on the property listings and their database algorithms to find people was enough. They did offer us a premium listing months later when I asked what else could be done and this generated viewings . Unable to arrange one second viewing and blamed staff absence for not contacting the buyer when I rang up a week later and the buyer did not return their call. People not getting back to them happened a lot . We were never shown any evidence of their contacts with people . It's a shame as they understood the market and provided a lot of information about why viewings were sparse due to external factors.Pleasant staff with good local knowledge. We gave them a long period as it was a tough time to sell but did decide to find another agent in the end as they did not seem that proactive .... Read more

   I had a really positive experience with the team when selling my flat, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to sell their property.<br><br>Gennaro was fantastic throughout the viewing process and did a great job securing the sale. The whole team I dealt with were incredibly helpful, keeping me well informed about viewings and feedback throughout. I particularly liked the app they used, which made the whole process easy to follow and ensured communication was always clear and consistent.<br><br>A special mention goes to Natasha, who was extremely helpful during the final stages of the sale. She went above and beyond to keep things moving, regularly chasing solicitors and maintaining communication to help push the sale through to completion.<br><br>Selling in a challenging market wasn’t necessarily easy, but the support, communication and professionalism of the team made a real difference and helped make the experience as smooth as possible.<br><br>Thank you to Gennaro, Natasha and the whole team for all your hard work.    I cannot praise or recommend Brown and Merry Wendover enough. I have never been one to leave reviews, but I felt incredibly implied to do it in this case. Our fantastic experience began with viewing the house we were purchasing. We viewed the property two times, firstly with Sylvie and secondly with Ruby. Both were absolutely fantastic experiences, and they both did as much to sell the house as the property itself. On both occasions we were handed beautifully presented brochures, which were fantastic additions to the viewing and more than anything, fantastic memoirs for the house we were purchasing. They were knowledgeable, kind and not in anyway overbearing, completely contrasting all other experiences we had had with estate agents. We submitted an offer for the property, which was accepted, and were immediately given all options in relation to conveyancing, processes etc. Once again, a really thought through stage. During our purchase, through no fault of Brown and Merry's, we began having issues with our solicitors. And in particular, issues with an enquiry from our conveyancers. We were advised by them to call Brown and Merry for advice, and upon doing so were passed to Claire. Claire took it upon herself to liaise with us, the sellers, the sellers solicitor, our solicitor etc. to assist in organising a resolution that would allow exchange and completion. She chased everyone almost everyday, updating us throughout and creating communication between both sides where there never was before due to incompetent solicitors. We had a point of contact for which nothing was too much to help with, and the purest example of someone going above and beyond where they were in no way obligated to. I truly believe without Claire's assistance, we would not be at the exchange stage we are now. Thank you Claire. In summary, if you are thinking of buying or selling through Brown and Merry, you'd be hard pressed to find anyone better.... Read more

    ABSOLUTELY AVOID THIS ESTATE AGENTS<br><br>Since informing them of our notice to terminate our tenancy until present day (approx. 10 months ago) Chancellors have been nothing but awful towards us.<br><br>We informed them we were moving out, which at some point ended with us being on the phone to them discussing the move out dates/ end of tenancy dates etc. We spoke with Orianne, who over the phone informed us that we could move out on X date which was approx. 14 days prior to our official ‘end of tenancy’ date and that they were lining up a new tenant to move in also earlier than our official end of tenancy date which meant we wouldn’t have to pay the final 14 days worth of rent because the new tenants where essentially covering that with their new payment.<br><br>Of course this was discussed over the phone and silly us, didn’t get her to confirm it in writing via email.<br><br>Anyway, the early move out date arrives and we explain that we’ll drop the keys back to officially show we’ve moved out as per the telephone conversation. We were then told by someone else at chancellors that we will still be charged for the 14 days because that’s when our tenancy officially ends. Meanwhile we’ve already planned to begin our new tenancy elsewhere and therefore are paying all the related costs of that on our new property. Naturally, due to the previous telephone conversation we had created a budget EXCLUDING the 14 days rent because we’d been told we won’t need to pay that. Well of course we did need to pay that because of course our telephone conversation either didn’t happen or was just completely false and we were always going to need to pay regardless of what Orianne had told us.<br><br>Moving on, we reluctantly pay the amount due and continue the moving out process. Deep cleaning the property, handing back the keys etc etc. We moved out of the property on approximately 15/02/26 and one of chancellors staff comes out to inspect the property on 03/03/26. A whole 2 weeks later! Then has the audacity to mark us down and label things as ‘dusty’ and therefore needing a further clean. Putting the blame of ‘dusty’ onto us when you took too long to inspect the property is not our problem so the fact you’re trying to charge us £250 for that is inexplicable.<br><br>They also marked us down for ‘weeds’ in the garden. Which again they have posted pictures of in the report which don’t show any more weeds than were there when we moved into the property. It shows bushes in the garden. They’re also trying to charge us over £90 for that. Again, completely unreasonable and untrue and won’t provide us with any proof of these gardening costs. The pictures even show it to be untrue, yet their ‘internal adjudication’ showed the charges to be ‘fair and true’. The internal adjudication was just someone sending an email to a manager of their company who then replied saying ‘approved’. That was the entire ‘adjudication’. Truly laughable.<br><br>Upon receipt of these charges, we decided to phone Chancellors to try and resolve the issue like adults where we can fairly discuss the issues and come to a reasonable resolution. But of course that wasn’t the case because we were spoken to by Libby Giles who actually began shouting down the phone to my partner with a heap of attitude. So much so that my partner had to ask her the question of ‘why are you being so aggressive and could she please speak to her sensibly’.<br><br>The worst part is, I believe Libby is meant to be a manager of some description? Very interesting customer service approach I must say.<br><br>To date, we are still disputing this entire situation, especially after their ‘completely independent adjudication process’ only to be met with threats of legal action.<br><br>Truly a very stressful and awful experience....
