Would score them no stars if it allowed . We started off trying to sell our house with fox and sons . What a mistake to make. Disaster from day one . Told them I wanted a sale board up . Which we eventually got. Only to be taken down again. When I asked them why , got told it was a mistake . Had to keep phoning them to get it put up again. When we got viewings they failed again and again to inform the viewers the savings they would make due to solar panels we have . Found this out when a couple of viewers came back to have a look round .I kept having to chase up feed back with them .instead of them keeping me informed. The final straw came when twice they didn't secure my front door after showing people round . Gave them a months notice , and then changed to Your Move found them more professional and friendly to do business with. And have now sold my Property with them. THANKS Stuart and Rob at Your Move

I honestly can't praise the people here enough. I turned up for a viewing, not entirely sure I'd come to the right place, so I went to Fox&Sons as they were handling it. I was soaking wet due to torrential rain and drivers treating me to pavement showers and the guys at Fox let me warm up in their office and offered me a hot drink. Didn't get too many names but the young chap and young lady working there on Saturday, 24th August 2024 were extremely kind. Sorry I didn't take your names guys, hope this reaches you! Then they introduced me to Charlie, who does the lettings; he also happens to be a superstar.

I have never used the services of Fox and Sons yet have somehow ended up on their email list. I have had emails from various agents offering valuations and help with buying and selling. I have replied many times (to Curtis particularly) requesting to be removed from their mailing lists, but have never had a reply and continue to be sent emails. I’m fairly certain if I was requesting a valuation of my house it would be a very different story and I’d get an instant reply. I have never been to Hastings, I don’t own a house anywhere in England. I have reported them as spam and still the emails come.

Before you sign the selling contract make sure you show it to a solicitor the manager of Hastings branch is fraud we have paid all his fee then they want more money making a false claim and contracts I am abroad once I came I will take this agency to court. so be careful when you sign contracts there is lots of selling agency in Hastings.

They'll find you the worst tenant imaginable because their high turnover of staff hasn't a clue how to do a job well. The ensuing problems will take years off your life expectancy. What a complete nightmare its been with both the sales and letting side of this poor excuse of a company.
Transfered the letting to them, at their suggestion, to help with access to the properties for viewing for the sale. Hit with fees that were NEVER agreed, dispite me asking the question over the phone (of course i expected the usual monthly managment fee, but not the fees for 'admin' and a sneaky new tenant fee for tenants that were already in situ!), this was all done to aid them selling. Which of course, was a complete shambles when i was then told the lettings team dont work 'that way' with the sales team!
Of course we were promised and assured that the price of the sale was spot on, then told it needed to drop.
Finally got the property sold at well below what we wanted / needed (medical treatments were /are needed, which they were aware of - hence the price).
Sold the property back in April this year. Put in our GDPR requests and rights to 1) stop processing. 2) to be forgotten. We asked over and over again to delete all our contact details, to stop emailing us and expressed the impacts they were having on us at a very difficult time. Highlighted over and over again the complaints we raised and the fact they continue to send us documentation that is meant for the new landlord. Turned out as soon as the sales and letting teams got their £££ they couldnt be bothered to let the finance team know. Even though we have contacted every department including the branches, very poor excuse of a manager (Alex was copied into 99% of emails etc and sat back and did nothing), to repeat our requests for our GDPR rights to be actioned. And still we are receiving notifications of tenant arrears, bank information, marketing calls and emails.
And the most rediculas thing to add to it all they continue to call us to see if we have thought about selling the property they have just sold! Followed by calls asking if we want to let the same property through them!
How hard can it be to follow a very simple and straight forward request? DELETE OUR CONTACT INFORMATION, STOP SENDING US DETAILS OF TENANTS THAT HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH US (A DATA PROTECTION BREACH IN ITSSELF!) AND STOP ENQUIRING IF WE WANT TO LET / SELL A PROPERTY WE NO LONGER OWN!! JUST FORGET WE EXIST - WHICH WE ARE TRYING OUR BEST TO DO ABOUT YOU!
I didn't want to air this on the internet, but may be its the only way they will sit up and take notice?!? As someone who spent many years in the property industry (buying and selling), never have I come across such a disgusting level of service. Be warned of the wolf in sheeps clothing (the best way I can discribe them), nice and cheerful to start and couldnt do more to try and help but as soon as that agreement is signed they couldnt care less about you or the impacts they have on you..unless its going to impact their £££.

We were already looking for a house to buy for over 2 years and lost hope. We booked a viewing with Fox and Sons and Sharmin was introduced to us. She is a Mortgage Consultant and her office is based in Fox and Sons Hastings Branch.
After our first appointment with Sharmin my husband said " I have a good feeling about Sharmin, she will be the one that will get us a house after 2 years of looking around", and he was right, she made our dream come true, in 3 months we got the keys or our First House.

It was with some trepidation that I embarked upon selling my flat after many years of delays and preparation. I was left with a dilemma as both agents representatives visits I was happy with. Estate agents have an unfortunate reputation, one of those almost predictable responses when the profession is mentioned. However, I feel that as in most situations in life it is often as much about your own approach and a personal experience, in addition to understanding to a degree, the difficulties faced by any given profession. I chose Fox & Sons on balance as it was their location in relation to my property, but as usual part of the choice was due to the time and care from their valuation listings manager, Callum Legate, whose visit provided detailed explanations, with impeccable politeness and answered readily my questions. When I raised minor concerns or observations with the property details, these were immediately addressed with a further personal visit and this has been further in evidence during two visits to the branch. Viewings were immediate as the Hastings branch staff were proactive . I was always consulted about viewings although happy for these to be undertaken at any time. Feedback was promised and received from another great staff member, Curtis, who has been very polite, smart and encouraging at all times. I knew my flat would have some limitations but it is now under offer and in the legal process. I would recommend making Fox & Sons at Hastings your first port of call. I understand the actual offer was negotiated with Alex but demonstrates team work.

I'm appalled at the service I have just received from Fox and Sons. I can only imagine that our rental search is simply not worth the time and effort to them. I'm still in shock by the way I have just been spoken to on the phone (pours a gin to help). After previous pleasant conversations, it sadly goes to show how they can switch from friendly sales to ruthless business people. But at least keep consistent until we've got a contract...right?!
I think we dodged a bullet. I've just shared my experience elsewhere online and quite quickly other people are talking about their negative experiences too. 'Defo avoid' and 'awful' seems to be the theme. For both rentals and sales according to others.
We had a viewing booked in last week which was cancelled by them the day prior. Fair enough. We are in London but time off and travel could be rearranged. I (me not them!) called yesterday to reconfirm the viewing for today. All fine. Travel to Hastings. 1 missed call from them, call straight back. No answer. Call all morning. No answer. They have my number and can text or email. Surely they will contact if they need to rearrange again. Plus they know it's a trip especially from London. No. They simply didn't turn up all because I missed their one call and yet was told there was no one in the office to take my calls up until 1pm. Madness! I was told they tried to call me 4 times and I have no voicemail option. Which is simply not true and can easily be proved.
It's a zero star review from me. Will be happy to take my business elsewhere considering the lies I've just been told before even getting to view a property with them. 'Defo avoid!'.
'Hands up if you think they'll refund our travel expenses or even read my formal complain I'll be sending'...anyone?? No...me neither.

I recently bought my first property which was a really intimidating process for me. Fox's and sons sales have been so helpful from the minute I called them in what has been a very stressful time from the start I have been talking to lorna Eggleston who was so helpful and knowledgeable and we felt so comfortable Lorna has been the only person who when I called not only booked us in for the house I was calling for but also 2 other that match what I was looking. So thanks to lorna doing that we have found our perfect home. Highly recommended

We started searching for properties to rent back in March and Lorna has been nothing but helpful throughout the whole process.
Lorna showed us the properties we applied for as well as other ones she thought we might like and kept us updated on new properties available.
Her colleague Peter was also lovely who actually showed us the property we will now be renting.
Everyone has been so helpful and understanding helping us rent our first place. Out of all the agencies we have used, we would only recommend Fox and Sons ????????

I would just like to share my experience with Fox and Sons Hastings Lettings team. They are professional, helpful, knowledgeable and very understanding. I was a tenant struggling to find a property that fitted my situation, Lorna made the process so easy and stress free when viewing properties. She also kept me updated with new properties as soon as they came on the market. Lorna and her team were a delight to work with a i would highly recommend them to any one looking for a property.

I asked Fox and son to value my deceased mothers property over 3 and a half years ago, but I went with a different estate agent. I am still having phone calls asking to sell her property even though it was sold 3 years ago, each time I have asked them to remove my details as it was sold. This morning I had another call!! So very disrespectful for them to keep doing this.

The worst and probably the most expensive agency In East Sussex. They charged me about £500 (+ the deposit and the first month rent of course, in total almost 1.5 grand) for signing the renting agreement, which they asked me to sign on the day I decided to rent a property, put the deposit and pay all the fees immediately, then they didn't return the signed copy with the signature of the landlord and then they changed it just a few days before moving in and gave me another copy to sign. They not just didn't care about any issues like cross-referenced electric meter. Staff rotation is so high that they don't even cope with responding to their e-mails remembering the context. You write an e-mail, you don't get response in 2 weeks, you write another one and you get an automatic reply that this mailbox doesn't exist anymore Just a bunch of cowboys, nothing else. They may look professional at a first glance, but don't get fooled with that, they'll spit on your back once you turn around.

I would recommend Fox and Sons to anyone who is considering selling their property. Samantha Holloway and Ben Ralph from the Sales Team were always friendly, very helpful and professional. It's reassuring to know you can rely on the staff throughout the process of selling your flat. The solicitor Fox and Sons recommended was also excellent.

Rang them about a property but just got the details from the online listing read back to me with zero additional information or sales interaction. When I requested a viewing all I got was a post code to direct me to the place. Considering it was for piece of land, this was insultingly slack. No wonder people are increasingly cutting shoddy middlemen like this out of the process.

Fox and Sons are a first class property agent and if you are thinking of letting as a landlord or a tenant they are extremely well organised and their customer service is excellent. As a landlord I can only speak highly of Fox and Sons and they have looked after our lettings with no problems for nearly 10 years.

This agent does represent landlords who are not interested in tenants just money. This agent constantly represents landlords who argue over giving deposits back to tenants. This agent does not support tenants when repairs need urgent attention. If it was possible to give minus out ten l would.

My partner and I wanted to buy a property and as first time buyers we were at a complete loss at where to begin. We spoke with Emma Wheeler (Sequence / Fox and Sons) who was so helpful and informative the first time we met her that we decided there and then to use her as our mortgage consultant.
I would highly recommend Emma to anyone who is looking to buy a property and needs a mortgage. She was always courteous and was happy and willing to answer our questions and queries whether by phone or email (even at short notice).
Ultimately she made what seemed like an incredibly daunting process much more manageable.

Letting with a PEACE OF MIND, the team are fabulous, I've let my property twice through the branch and they always been very supportive and helped me anytime I've had a problem or an issue they were just a call or an email away. Nothing is too much for them no matter how trivia it might seem, also as I was new to the business of being a Landlord they were always on hand to help me with things I needed to do and get the appropriate trades people in who you can trust I feel I am in very safe hands as well as my property is too!

Terrible at communication, no regards of the costumers time and absolutely careless. They do not provide a mobile phone to contact the agent directly and failed terribly at calling me 2 times in a row. I had an appointment yesterday with a lady called Sofi at 6.00 pm at eversfield place and couldn't meet her because they didn't provide the exact address of the flat and tried to call them while I was on the stret but I got an answer machine saying it was put of office ours. Today I booked another time, got the exact address and double checked that they got my correct number. I went there at 1.45 pm as agreed. Waited for 5 minutes, no one showed up so I called them and Sofie answered to tell me that she dosen't have the keys and we beed to rearrange another appointment and she tried to call me but she could not dial me because they cannot dial a phone numbers more than 15 numerals. A terrific way of running business.

I echo all the 1 star comments. If you look at their parent company, Sequence, you’ll see all the Board members aim to deliver great customer service. In reality, the local office is a shambles. Don’t expect any updates or any specific feedback (although they promise all this in spades). I signed up for 12 weeks and demanded to be released after 10 with no viewings. Guess what, they readily agreed and didn’t even try to persuade me otherwise which is in line with the many “they really don’t care” comments in other reviews. The market is really going through a tough time at the moment. Outstanding local agents are adapting but this chain is miles off the pace.

I had a call from a team member on the lettings side. It wasn't applicable to me at this time. However, I took the opportunity to ask some questions about lettings and rentals and Adele was very happy to answer them. My knowledge was related to how things were some years back! The fact that she was happy to answer my questions in itself warrants very good positive feedback because I have found this service to be severely lacking in some organisations and this lady gave time. This is a contact I will make a mental note of for possible future requirement. Thank you.

made an appointment the day before to view a property, fir tree rd. The agents didnt even bother to turn up. When i rung them Ryan because very rude and spoke to me like dirt, claiming i didnt make the appointment. I asked to to remove me from his list. Funny as he had my up to date details on the system which i gave him when making the appointment for viewing. He spoke to me, like a bit of dirt on the floor. What a vile Estate Agency, hang your head in shame !!!!!

Marketed a property in September '17 on the understanding that the slightly higher than expected valuation was realistic and not just an over-valuation to secure the listing, I was assured it was realistic.
They then managed two viewings in the 10 days after listing and provided no progress updates unless I called them. The second time I called for an update, after only two viewings, the inevitable "the market has changed, we may need to think about a price reduction" conversation was had.
I immediately gave them 28 days notice. When that expired I instructed another agent, the property was under offer within 2 weeks at 98% of asking price.

Do not instruct these people unless you want to wait 10 months to sell your property! Yes 10 months when the market is seeing a shortage of property. They inflate your valuation to an unrealistic level to get the business and then only show people on a block viewing open house basis, which some buyers do not like. I had one abortive sale, the sales progressor was lying about mortgage offers and various other lies. They did very little due diligence on the prospective buyers and therefore was strung along by time wasters. At one point there was smell of gas at the property and they refused to send somewhere there to turn of the gas at the meter. They only sold this property when I was about to move the business to another estate agent and then suddenly a buyer appeared. The buyer was allowed into the property a day before completion ( I am was not consulted about this) then the buyer made a list of provisos of work that needed doing before the completion the following day. That cost me another £1000 let alone the council tax, mortgage payments whilst it was on the market. I am a property investor and this experience has really pushed me towards the internet estate agents.I also notice that Tom Davies has given 5 stars to boost the overall rating, he works for Fox and Sons!!

I have nothing but praise for the Hastings branch of Fox & Sons. I bought a buy-to-flat via them in Jan 2014 and they have managed the property rental & repairs since. I would like especially to single out the 3 people whom i have had the pleasure of dealing with: Ryan, Andrew & Laura.
Ryan Bettney took me round all the potential properties. He was very knowledgeable, extremely helpful & really great fun to be with. I definitely recommend him if you're looking for a property.
Andrew Titherly arranged my buy to let mortgage and found me a lawyer. He is brilliant and really efficient. Very helpful too and not pushy at all (as has been my experience with other financial advisors). He was very clear about what would happen then and in the futures. I have since re-mortgaged twice via him and he has been excellent each time. He contacts me in advance to check renewal needs and then always rings me on the agreed date to go through everything. He's fab.
And Laura Winter from lettings is brilliant too. She's helped me sort out loads of the things that have gone wrong in the flat and deals with the tenants and contractors on my behalf. She is very reliable and honest - which I really appreciate. A lot has gone wrong recently and she's been fantastic in helping me through the quagmire of repairs!
NOTE: my review is about the actual Hastings branch only. Sequence do most of their tenant liaison & repairs - individual employees are good, some excellent, but their turnover is very high and i think they are overworked.

We have had a couple of viewings with Fox & Sons and the guy turns up sniffing and sweating a lot, not due to a cold either, could tell a mile off what he had been doing. Very very unprofessional. Just another Chain estate agent, have to chase them all the time for any updates , all very young and eager. The £1000 incentive Is only if you arrange your mortgage through them.

We have numerous I;portant issues like damp, no electricity in one room, faulty plugs and bear live wires! You name it we have it yet they are no help at all as we paid our 6 months up front to be good tenants! Avoid, avoid AVOID!!!!!
