Foxton’s team in Maida Vale - led by Noah - have helped sell my flat in one of the local mansion blocks. I got the full asking price (despite a wobble in the house prices around the autumn budget). The sale was agreed in record time because Foxtons already had a buyer in their network.
Noah kept tabs on everyone during the legal searches and jumped in to help with a long list of queries lobbed by the buyer’s solicitor. With a different, less hands-on agent the transaction could have been derailed several times.
I thoroughly recommend Foxtons and especially Noah. They were pro-active, engaged and unflappable throughout. I would happily work with them again.

They refreshed the marketing, brought in genuine buyers, and secured an offer within a short timeframe. While their fees are higher, the result they achieved made it worthwhile. Original review: Agent was convivial, but viewing involved being misled about a property being available and wild claims about “doubling your money”. Your tolerance for high-pressure sales tactics may vary. Mine is limited.

I strongly advise anyone thinking of selling to be very cautious with Foxtons Maida Vale. I instructed them based on an unrealistically high valuation, which they claimed they could achieve with their "premium" database. This proved to be a classic tactic just to get the instruction. Once signed, they generated pretty much empty footfall with unqualified viewers, only to tell me to drop the price by 10%+ just a couple of weeks later.
Their commission is the highest in the market, and based on my experience, it is absolutely not worth it. You pay a premium fee for a very poor work ethic. To make matters worse, I terminated my instruction in mid-December, yet they are STILL marketing my property online in January despite multiple requests to stop. Save your money and your time. There are much more honest, kinder, and fairly priced agencies in the area.

From the very first call, Emily Melanson at Foxtons Maida Vale truly listened to what I needed and took it seriously. On the first day, she already had viewings lined up that actually matched my brief. Out of the three flats she showed me, I ended up loving two which is rare and says a lot about how well she understood what I was looking for.
What’s usually a stressful, drawn out process was refreshingly easy. The entire thing took just a few days and felt completely smooth from start to finish. No pressure, no headaches, no back and forth, just clear communication, speed, and genuine care.
Emily made what could have been an overwhelming search feel exciting instead. I’m genuinely grateful for how effortless she made it, and I would recommend her without hesitation to anyone who wants results without the stress.

I let my property with them for 1 year and felt that they haven't provided adequate service to me at all. It's really difficult to get to my dedicated property manager. Her response rate is about 50%, meaning that only half of the time I might get a reply. They also set me up as an overseas landlord and charged me extra for it, while having my proof of address and ID clearly showing that I am base in the UK. When I requested them to rectify their mistake and demanded refund, they ghosted me. I sent their manager an email a week ago to inform them that I want to terminate my contract with them. They are currently ghosting me. I am not sure if they are actually allowed to ignore that message.

Although I didn't find a property with Foxtons, Colin Burke showed me around some properties and was really friendly and wrote personal emails. I often found that with other agents in London I received emails that were not relevant to my asks and were canned responses. Colin was much more human. Having now completed our purchase, we can honestly say this was the worst buying experience we’ve had in London. Foxtons Maida Vale were consistently unresponsive, obstructive, and left us doing almost all the work ourselves.
The seller’s solicitor, Fionan Foo at Burlingtons Law, ignored emails for weeks. Burlingtons was recommended by Foxtons, which makes it even more disappointing. It’s clear Foxtons do no real due diligence on their sellers or the firms they involve—they had no idea who they were dealing with or how difficult they would be.
Our agent, Ronald Birznieks, was unhelpful throughout: unresponsive to calls and emails, going on holiday at a critical moment with no handover, and generally making an already stressful process harder at every turn. While one colleague did try to step in, the overall service was careless and dismissive.
In the end, our solicitor had to push the entire transaction forward almost single-handedly. For an agent that charges premium fees, Foxtons provided little more than delays, stress, and frustration. We would strongly advise buyers and sellers to think twice before trusting them with such an important process.

Not happy with this well established company as called them regarding a visit for the purpose of a valuation of a sale of my property and was told i would get a call back. I did get that call back a few days later but i explained i was atwork and i was told i would get a call back a couple of hours later to discuss the matter but the call never arrived. I did get a call back three weeks later when i was driving home and once again i kindly asked the foxtons caller to give it a hour untill i arrive home to discuss the property which he said he would do. I sat at home waiting for that call but never got a reply buy this time i knew this wasn't a company which i would place my trust in to proceed with my property . To rub salt into the wounds i got a further phone call three weeks later by another salesman asking about my property.

Bad Practice **AVOID**
In a market that is already extremely competitive and difficult for prospective tenants, Foxtons aims to capitalise by disadvantaging potential tenants and landlords.
They have now gained themselves a reputation for lying to tenants about contract lengths and terms of agreements, suggesting that most tenants sign contracts, with no break clause for between ‘three to five years’ and that ‘break clauses aren’t the done thing now’.
This deceitful behaviour and outright lying is done to ensure they can charge landlords the maximum amount of commission. When asked to provide evidence that they had contacted the landlord regarding a break clause, they were unable to provide any.
They are so well known for this now that when you describe what you have been offered to other agency’s they’ll ask ‘was it Foxtons’. Thankfully there are other agencies in the area that will help you out and keep you well informed so look elsewhere!

Illegal practices - AVOID!
Me and my friend were looking for a property to rent via foxtons. Our case was supported by Savannah Talbott and Taj, the branch manager.
We showed keen interest on one property and wanted to potentially apply for a tenancy. My friend changed his mind for personal reasons the next day after paying a "holding fee".
Foxtons made us pay a "holding fee" that they claimed is a deposit despite us having not signed any legally binding papers, INCLUDING a tenancy agreement, NOR an "application for a tenancy" form.
Yet on phone calls and text message, they claim that we have in fact signed a tenancy agreement (which neither of us remember signing), and kept referring to "clause 19" of said tenancy agreement. When I asked foxtons to send me the clause they were referring to, they ignored me for a week (while before hand, they were responding to my texts hourly).
We were told to have to either:
1. pay 6 months up front of our rent (16,254 pounds) to a property we were not moving into, find a replacement tenant, for them to pay 6 months up front to foxtons, then wait for foxtons to return our rent
or
2. Pay a service fee to foxtons of 11% + VAT(13.2% inc VAT) of the total of our rent for 2 years, as a "consequence of early termination", which would amount to 8582,11 pounds.
It was only till I sent an email pointing out their illegal practices did we receive our "holding fee" back. The email of course, never received a written reply.

TL;DR: Excellent personal and professional service (thank you, Hamza!).
Like many others, my partner and I found searching for the perfect house as being like being in a never-ending game of musical chairs: just when you think you've got a seat, the music starts again.
We enlisted the help of numerous other agencies, big and small, yet of all the agencies we enlisted, Foxtons, due to the tireless and nuanced work of agent Hamza Shah, was the only one that truly, proactively, tried to get us the seat we wanted before the music started again. After a couple of uninteresting viewings, most other agencies seemingly became distant and quiet and stopped sending through properties of interest to my partner and I. We experienced no such behaviour from Hamza, who took initiative in each viewing we went through to truly refine his understanding of our preferences and search criteria. The effect of this was hugely noticeable – in a calendar of viewings, those listed by Foxtons and refined by Hamza were the only viewings which, in our eyes, were not going to be a lottery upon arrival. Further, Hamza's empathetic, personable and communicative positivity throughout transformed the property hunting process from a time-consumant into something enjoyable, and to be looked forward to on the calendar.
Ultimately, my partner and I are about to secure a property through another agency (by no fault of Hamza as they happened to have one that better fit our search... we feel bad that it isn't one of his!). Yet I write this review to recognise the excellency of service we received from Hamza, and our appreciation for it, throughout our search. I have no doubt that, upon the completion of our tenancy or at the first time my partner and I will be required to start property hunting again, Hamza will be our first port of call.

I highly recommend Foxtons Maida Vale branch, especially Savannah. Not to mention, Foxtons is a systematically well-established and credible real estate company compared to others.
After graduating from university, my boyfriend and I were desperate to find a flat during the busiest time of the year when people were starting to come back to London for schools and jobs after the summer. Luckily, we had Savannah as our letting negotiator. She understood our situation and how hard it is to find a flat. Savannah is great at clear communication between tenants and landlords. She always responded quickly to our questions and kept us informed throughout the whole process. She's the most professional and understanding person we've ever met while searching for a place to stay.

Finding and signing all the documents for the flat was smooth and efficient with Kiya. However, I was informed the night before my tenancy that the bed frame was broken. Regardless, I was handed over the keys the next day without any next steps from the agency even though I was promised that they would get back in touch with support. Additionally, the flat was not professionally cleaned and basic things such as some of the lights were not working even-though I was assured that everything will be checked and cleaned to a professional standard beforehand. Leaving me in a position of chasing the landlord myself without any support from the agency. It has been over one month since the beginning of my tenancy and I only have 1/4 lights working in the bathroom, the door not being able to close properly among other things. Not sure if this is specific to the Maida Vale office or if it is a constant theme with all Foxtons Offices. When you rent through an agency, you expect a certain standard to be met. Avoid at all costs, there are much better agencies in London.

I am writing this review on Mars Nicolaou of Foxtons Maida Vale.
I've been very lucky to meet some lovely agents, home owners and tenants in search of our home in London. Of all the amazing people Mars has set the bar.
It's starts right from the phone call. His voice is super enthusiastic, bright and cheerful. When you think..oh no..not another day of viewings..Mars cheers everything up. Foxtons offices are beautiful but the people make the place vibrant and bouncy and Mars is right up there..spreading positively.
Mars is unique in that he is ready to give you neutral advice..he is not just there to make a sale. He is honest and genuine..and even when you walk away..saying nope Mars..not this one...he bounces right back with another option.
We haven't quite found our perfect flat..but at the end of the day when you take the underground home..we take away a little bit of the Mars sunshine with us.

I had important documents left at your Maida Vale branch to be picked up. However, Foxtons employees lost those documents and do absolutely nothing to find them. Why does someone at your branch agree to pick them up if they can't ensure the documents will stay safe and will be handed over to the right person? I'm very disappointed with such poor and unreliable service.

The worst agents I’ve ever had the misfortune of encountering. They try and maintain a pretence of professionalism but fail to do basic things like respond to emails and phone calls or show you properties that you are actually interested in.
It took several weeks of emailing, calling, requesting viewings on their website, and then eventually going into their office to discover that the property I wanted to see had already been rented and they hadn’t even bothered to remove the listing.
I would advise any students to avoid them, they won’t respect you or your time.

Terrible agency, nice to talk to on the phone but in terms of actions only interested in generating as much profit as possible at expense of tenants. Took a month to get my deposit back despite numerous promises it was coming also consistently refused to give notice when they were doing visits at the end of my tenancy. You would do well to find another letting agent .

Incredibly bad service. Terrible move in experience (multiple issues on move in - one of which we are still struggling to get fixed over 2 months into the tenancy). Out of 4 tenants in the property, only 2 tenants had access fobs to the apartment building for approximately the first 5 weeks. The hours spent chasing foxtons and contractors to get any traction is painful. Absolutely baffled as to how they operate as a big business - have never experienced such difficulties in getting things done before.

Renting a fully furnished and managed flat and in first 8 months had more than 20 visits to repair few elementary issues, most of which identified within first 2 weeks of tenancy. Foxtons keep sending (after lot of chasing) wrong or misinformed contractors who often do more damage than good or half-jobs while at the same time probably charge the landlord a small fortune for all those followup visits which could have been avoided. Making the effort to send pictures and clear instructions is waste of time. Not to mention how badly performed maintenance seriously damages the property - especially as landlord I would never trust this agency.
Only once out of ten times are you able to actually get the property management on the phone, anytime during normal business hours. Responding to emails happens sometimes but sometimes you just come home to find someone was at your property without even being given any notice.

One of the worst agencies ever, when leaving my flat they constantly called me and emailed me to arrange viewings with less than 2 hours of notice, not caring about the contract clauses that require them to give a reasonable notice. They also kept calling me (multiple times in a day) to ask me if I could leave earlier because they had a potential tenant who wanted to move in, despite the fact I already told them no several times. They just care about their money but completely disregard the tenants.

There was a stinky rotting hole in the floor of the bathroom, Foxtons ignored all emails about it for 6 months. Then they sent someone around to cover the hole with newspaper. A further 6 months later we realised they were never going to fix the hole and moved out.
