I previously used this agency to rent a property in London, so when my husband later decided to sell the house in Henley, I was happy to use them again. The agency and a particular agent were recommended to us, and the process started relatively well. My husband’s application was accepted, and all the agents from the Henley office came to view the house.<br>Unfortunately, once a buyer was found, the whole experience changed. The team seemed to switch their attention entirely to the buyer and completely forgot about us — the people actually selling the property and, of course, paying their fees.<br>It was extremely frustrating. Our emails were often ignored, getting through to someone by phone was difficult, and we regularly had to go into the office simply to remind them that we were still there and needed updates.<br>We did everything we could to make the sale as easy as possible for the buyers. We moved out within a very short timeframe and even left them the washing machine, tumble dryer and various other items as a gesture of goodwill like expensive wooden blind and shutters. Despite this, we often felt that the agents were speaking to us as if we were children rather than their clients — the people paying their commission.<br>The buyers seemed to make one request after another, and the agents showed enormous interest in accommodating them, while speaking to us in a dismissive and sometimes rather disrespectful way. At times, it felt as though our needs and circumstances simply didn't matter.<br>Overall, it was a very useful experience in terms of learning what to expect from an estate agent, but it was also extremely stressful. We were genuinely disappointed by the agency and, most of all, by the way we were treated once the buyer had been found.<br>I would strongly recommend that the agency remembers that a successful sale involves two sides, and both deserve the same level of communication, professionalism and respect....
