24th Dec 2025 (5 weeks ago)We recently used Robinsons in Durham for sale of our old house and they were the agent for purchase of the new one. Communication was good throughout from Ann, Stacey, Keighley and Emily, while Keith was very knowledgeable valuing the house. Nothing was an issue throughout and would highly recommend.
2nd Mar 2019 (6 years ago)We are student at Durham University and we decided to rent a house. I called the estate agent and they agreed to send us the agreement and everything to rent this one house that we really liked. We were supposed to arrive a week later to submit the forms and pay deposit. When I got the papers, they confirmed with us that the house would be definitely be reserved for us. However, the morning we were supposed to hand in the papers, I got a short, badly articulated email saying that the property was no longer available and that we should look somewhere else. No explanation, nothing. We were angry because student accommodation is competitive and we lost so much time waiting for this house. Upon emailing them multiple times, they finally said that the previous tenants decided to stay for another year. Didn’t they confirm with the current tenants that they would be moving out? Why would they even list the house if that was an option? .Why send us the agreements and everything? They didn’t even bother trying to find us other options that we could stay at instead. All and all, I would never use this agent again because their service is absolutely terrible

She responded promptly to my inquiries and made a significant effort to ensure that the process ran smoothly. I am very pleased with the overall experience at Dowen, particularly with Caroline's assistance. It was an outstanding experience.

Regular updates and all questions answered and obstacles overcome to make it a smooth process for me. Would highly recommend. Gail McLean has always been our contact there, and she is wonderful; approachable, knowledgeable and professional. Gail and the Sanderson Young team have ensured that our property has been let quickly and to high quality tenants every time. Highly recommend (thanks Gail!)

Fitted a cylinder in a property for this agent and despite numerous calls/emails/complaints we are still yet to receive payment, now three month overdue. They tried to pass us over to the landlord when we dealt direct with them, but we’ve heard nothing. Would not recommend working for this company.
14th Jan 2026 (11 days ago)There are doubtless still some Estate Agents around who get to the point where a deal has been agreed, and then loose interest until they see their commission. Reeds Rains aren't like that! Deb in the Durham office has been determined to help the sale process along by pestering solicitors and making sure everyone knows what's needed and how things are progressing. Whether you're buying or selling, you need regular reassurance and that's what we got through excellent communication and a friendly approach...
26th May 2022 (3 years ago)The unique service offered by Griffin has enabled me to complete a DIY sale of my home on the Internet using national property sale platforms as if I was the website. I listed my property at 8am and by 9.30am on the same day I was receiving emails from potential purchaser's. I well know the power of the Internet, but even I was surprised by the speed of it all. The Griffin team have the power to listen and assist you, I wish to thank the person at Griffin who originated this professional service and his team for doing a great job. If I ever need to sell a home in future I will immediately use the Griffin service and have been recommending them to family and friends. Thank you.

18th Mar 2024 (1 year ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

9th Jan 2026 (16 days ago)In the midst of quite a testing transaction (not at all the fault of Evenmore), Wayne and his team were on our side and did all they could to get the result we wanted. Wayne conducted all the viewings which worked well for us and also gave prospective buyers the best impression of our property. We were also happy with the photography and presentation of our property. Communication throughout the process was excellent and the proactive attitude of Evenmore properties helped to push things along when needed. Wayne also offered his advice when requested, which was very helpful for both our sale and our purchase transaction. Would definitely recommend and would not hesitate to use again in the future.

They sold my house in just seven days and achieved over the asking price, with several viewings arranged in a very short space of time. The quality of the photographs was excellent and really helped showcase the property. Communication was outstanding throughout, they were always on hand for a conversation, even after hours, and very responsive via WhatsApp. A professional, proactive, and genuinely supportive team from start to finish.

He diligently worked through many applications to find me the perfect tenant based on my requirements. He communicated very professionally when he said he would. I couldn’t fault any aspect of this service. First class and very professional. I will be using Daniel and G&G for my next property placements. Thank you ????
