23rd May 2024 (1 year ago)Bit strange, as my sister applied for a rental property and I was to be the guarantor they denied my application even though my payslips were valid? Stating I earn half the salary I put down? They advised me that home let denied my application but they were Lieing as home let has written it in email stating the above. MILLIE I think her name is the, she has been dealing with me on two occasions and for some reason both applications have been denied and then compulsively Lieing to me and my family. To be honest she’s bad reputation to the company. She doesn’t even know left from right let alone a guarantor. Would not recommend this company at all I don’t know if it’s racial profiling but to be honest it feels like that. Would advise people to stay away!

14th Oct 2025 (6 mo. ago)Tried selling a flat with them and it was a drawn out and painful process. It lasted more than a year before it fell through. Going with their contractors and solicitors was the biggest mistakes I made in the sale. I thought if I went with their recommendations, they will facilitate the process, but no. One was dishonest and the other one completely incompetent. Stuart Edward was initially responsive, but then when run into problems months down the line, Lindsey stopped answering calls and the boss Stuart did not call back when messages left. I was left on my own to deal with all the technicality and mess. It was so horrible and stressful, I do not wish it on anyone. Two stars was being very generous as they were ok initially. I went with them because I wanted to support family business. Never again.
2nd Mar 2019 (7 years ago)We are student at Durham University and we decided to rent a house. I called the estate agent and they agreed to send us the agreement and everything to rent this one house that we really liked. We were supposed to arrive a week later to submit the forms and pay deposit. When I got the papers, they confirmed with us that the house would be definitely be reserved for us. However, the morning we were supposed to hand in the papers, I got a short, badly articulated email saying that the property was no longer available and that we should look somewhere else. No explanation, nothing. We were angry because student accommodation is competitive and we lost so much time waiting for this house. Upon emailing them multiple times, they finally said that the previous tenants decided to stay for another year. Didn’t they confirm with the current tenants that they would be moving out? Why would they even list the house if that was an option? .Why send us the agreements and everything? They didn’t even bother trying to find us other options that we could stay at instead. All and all, I would never use this agent again because their service is absolutely terrible

Right from the very courteous and professional first contact, through to the final stages, I could not fault them in the slightest. They were efficient, knowledgeable, and gave excellent advice. Given all the work they did, I regard their fee as very reasonable. Going with them as my agent was the best decision I could possibly have made.
23rd Sep 2025 (7 mo. ago)I’ve been with DH1 Lettings and Sales for over 7 years, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better service. They managed and looked after my house while it was rented out, and more recently they successfully (and very quickly!) sold it for me – all while I was living abroad in Dubai. They’re a genuine family business who really care, not only about their landlords but also about the tenants. Communication has always been excellent, and I’ve always felt my property was in safe hands. I can’t recommend DH1 Lettings and Sales highly enough – professional, trustworthy, and truly personal service from start to finish.
26th Oct 2024 (1 year ago)2 viewings one offer £40000 below asking price which was set by agent as realistic then they said it was probably too high. Also I take offence to their Facebook posts that state everything they touch turns to sold! When clearly it does not.

17th Apr 2026 (12 days ago)The valuation was great, the woman was lovely and photos were excellent. The communication stopped after a few weeks. The house was listed with 2 agents, when I did a viewing with the other party they said about how they'd tried to contact holbrooks and couldn't get through. I received a call about a viewing after no contact for weeks and told them the there had been an offer on the house and was sols stc, the woman rudely said you could have told us. I would have if there had been any contact! Overall wouldn't recommend them.
25th Sep 2025 (7 mo. ago)Having a house with langdales estate and letting has been a nightmare of my life not only did they promise me things that never went through they made me pay for rat infestation problems never sent no one out for fixtures and when they did it was bodge jobs everywhere absolutely disgusting. Ceiling was falling through lucky it never while I was there after I reported it constantly which I have proof for. Had to watch my home turn worse beach’s I refused to have to do everything with estate agents who were ignorant untill paying rent

24th Jan 2026 (14 weeks ago)Estate agent Vikki Allison very unprofessional, terrible service n simply does not care to sell your property. Not informed of potential buyers whom a couple having to contact me directly making me aware of their lack of help. Not even informed prior to viewings, sent reminder only night before. Board still left broken outside for weeks now when told fixed in 2 days. Advert incorrect stating '1 bathroom' when there are 2 bathrooms in fact . 3 toilets in total with 4 bedrooms. Left unchanged for a month after notifying them. Was told initially by Vikki I would be looked after as having mental health concerns but this woman, it would seem, deliberately sabotages any success. I have read all of these reviews n I am far from the first to receive a disgraceful experience.

14th Apr 2026 (15 days ago)If you are a tenant with this company, then be on your guard, as operate a very underhand business. I was given a section 21 after living at the property for 18 years and did everything in my power to move as quickly as possible. I kept them fully informed of all I was doing to move, so the landlord didn't have to incur extra court fees also. The thanks I got for this was them trying to take my bond!!! Tried to say I owed rent, which I didn't and they rectified this but then wanted money to clean a broken extractor fan and oven that was gifted to me by previous landlord. Catherine originally told me not to worry as all would be wear and tear. This was not the case. The minute I moved out (in a hurry as they requested) I was then slapped with a bill for oven cleaning, rent owed etc. If you are a tenant and receive a section 21, then don't help them, as they don't appreciate anything you do! The thanks you will get is them trying to take your bond! Despicable behaviour!
