PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU COMMIT May i first start by saying that Dixons have ruined my life and my family's life Back in August we started the process of a sale and purchase of our new home. Dixons were put in charge of the sale of my property what a mistake that was. In two and half months we only ever met any of the staff at Dixons once, and that was to witness the signing of the contract. When we first started the process we did all our own viewings and Dixons never attended once or even offered. All viewings were pushed to the evenings or weekends so they didn't have to attend. After multiple viewings the first offer for our property came in, and even though it was against my better judgement I was advised to accept the offer that was given to me. This was a person whom arrived to my property drunk and no credentials to have a mortgage as we found out. It was only after all the checks were done and after many phone calls by myself I had to go to a separate branch to get any information about what was going on. As i was told the person i needed to speak to in my own branch was not there and when they rang for him not knowing i was there he answered the phone. After this deal fell through which i knew it would do and me threatening to pull the plug, I was asked to give them another chance and reluctantly did, biggest mistake of our life. We started the process yet again and the same happened again and again, we continued to do our own viewings and i was constantly chasing them for information. Again after multiple viewings at the weekend an offer was accepted of what we believed to be a reputable person by Dixons. We had told Dixons not to send anybody to the property unless they were thoroughly checked out and could get a mortgage. The person who the offer was accepted with had his mortgage in place or so we were led to believe by Dixons and after chasing numerous phone calls and emails from myself I was assured that everything was 100% and in place and i kept checking this most days up until the day of the contract signing. My wife and I when we were weeks away from signing the contract and once again getting confirmation that everything was OK, gave up our job and business, and having to part with over a £1000 for searches, DBS, and fuel for interviews. We signed our contracts and they were witnessed by the branch manager of Dixons. We were told to hand them into the solicitor even though we were advised that his mortgage offer had fallen through and again was advised that they could still get him a mortgage 95% sure. After we returned home the same day we were informed that the mortgage offer on our property had fallen through due to something that they had found in their checks. We were gobsmacked that we have now found out that these checks were not done in the very beginning even though we had been promised they had. Dixons had tried to get him a better deal, he lost the lot. And now the purchase has come to the end. We are now sitting here with no way of paying our mortgage or bills, with no jobs, no new dream home and if we cant get jobs very quickly we could lose our present house. This whole experience has made us both very stressed and totally shocked of how we have been treated... Read more
