just before christmas we were asked to vacate a property at short notice as the landlord had decided to sell it, fortunately we found a suitable house quickly and prepared the property to a high standard, paying a deposit on the new house and moving out.
We are Nearly a month into chasing for the return of the £1300 + Deposit paid to your move who today advised that they cannot get in touch with the landlord - the deposit is not there responsibility - suggesting that we chase it up ourselves - They have taken the rent, the deposit,issued the agreemant, done the inventory, ensured we hope that the deposit was insured as legally required as the agent - Now they have basically told us to go away - Shocking service and really worrying behaviour from a letting agency who look good on the face of it but do not look after the interests of their tenants - stuff you hear about but never hope to experience - Today we collected some mail from the agent who asked us to delete the review and added that legally the deposit does not have to be returned for 90 days , after which we are able to take further action - Had we been told this before we rented the property we would not have taken up the tenancy - we still dont know who the deposit is insured through - not getting anywhere fast....
