Dodgy dealers that leave you high and dry when they incorrectly listing an item. Avoid like the absolute plague. Had two or three good deals then two absolute rip offs, the last being something being advertised cas something ten times the value of the product it actually was. Items magically jump in price around the same time....hmm....intersting that. You only have to look at their reputation online to see what they're about. Can we introduce no stars Google??... EXCELLENT SERVICE FROM START TO COMPLETION Selling a business in these unprecedented times was always going to be a challenge but this was finally achieved on the 1st March 2021 when I handed the keys to the purchaser and new owner of the business. Under no circumstances sell your business with Hilton Smythe. We made the unfortunate decision to sign a six month contract with them back in February this year to sell our shop. A valuer visited us and told us that if we paid so much upfront, they'd be no more fee's to pay and if the shop wasn't sold within six months we could simply pull it off the market or go with someone else. It was originally marketed and valued at £50,000. Initially we had a lot of interest and a sale looked likely. Then lockdown happened three weeks into the shop being advertised and all went quiet until late July, early August. Barely anything from Hilton Smythe. This we had expected due to the circumstances. In the meantime, the shop has been open and trading extremely well. Then come early August, we start being messed around by the agent. Suddenly and without any warning another agent has taken over and is arranging viewings with people who are not properly vetted. We're let down at the last minute by people who don't show up. We then reduce the price of our business in an effort to sell quicker, even then the agents kept calling with offer's well below the new asking price and when we turned them all down, we were made to feel like we're the ones being unreasonable and as though we should just accept any offer. Low and behold, we have decided to take our business off the market. Our contract ran out on August 2nd, therefore we are now out of contract. But... Hilton Smythe have stated that we have to give them six weeks notice for them to take our business off the market and in this time, we must accept viewings else we are liable for a fee of almost £3,000! We only received an actual copy of our contract, the day we gave Hilton Smythe our notice, which was two days ago. Yesterday, emails were flying back and forth between Myself and the agency over yet another no show. Hilton Smythe have become bullies and will stoop to any depths. They're not on the sellers side, the very people paying them and they will send anyone, unvetted, to waste your time on the promise of a sale. No matter how hard you try to get out of it, they will use 'the contract' against you. Do expect a level of stress that will drive you to the brink of a nervous breakdown and if you have a decent business, expect it to be adversely affected by bogus buyers phoning them and then you being forced into showing such people around! I urge anyone thinking of selling a business, go elsewhere. I wish I had seen some of these reviews back in February.... Read more

The experience that i had with your company was a very disappointing one.My partner and i were offered to view a property with someone from your office based in Tonyrefail at south wales. The viewing was scheduled for 9.30 A.M. on Tuesday 15th December.We turned up at the day and time stated only to discover that the person who arranged to meet us did not turn up, so i rang their office and the woman i spoke to told us that we were not on their system and if we would like to rearrange a new appointment, so i phoned them up the next day and a new one was arranged for us on Tuesday 12th January.I received a text message on that very day about four hours before our appointment to inform us that the tenancy had been granted to someone else.I was not pleased about this especially when i enquired what the reason was, i was told that the bond had been secured by these people.I asked why wasnt i given prior notice to this just to be told that their secretary must have been busy that day.They offered us a list of alternative properties on their website, but i will not be comitting myself to any of these and will not deal with propery plus ever again.It is one thing being let down once but twice is utterly rediculous.... We had excellent service from HRT both as sellers and buyers. I didn't know where to begin when I first called HRT but the support we received from the outset was outstanding. The evaluation process on our house was smooth with HRT walking us through the process quickly and efficiently. The quality of the presentation of our house was superb, with viewings on our property arranged quickly. This was instrumental in us achieving a sale, for full asking price, within 24hrs of our property going on the market. We were lucky enough to purchase a house with HRT too which made the process much simpler; we were kept updated at all stages of the process with weekly communication. We dealt with the Bridgend office and the whole team were professional. A special mention must go to Sales Manager Rebecca Davies who went above and beyond expectations. I would have no hesitation in recommending HRT. I would use no other Estate Agent. Thank you HRT!... Read more

Really disappointed by their approach to buyers. We were placed in a bidding war position, and eventually asked what our % deposit was. Why this should have ANY impact on who the best potential buyer is highly unfair. As it was, we found another house and moved in months before the successful buyer of this first property. I have also heard negative feedback from others on their form.... Read more
