They chased up the onward chain and communicated information they had. All the team were extremely helpful but a special mention for John and Sarah.

The pictures taken were excellent, they held keys, did all viewings and sold the house in 8 days! They ensured a quick and speedy exchange with really helpful staff. Thanks to Kevin & Tyne that kept on top of everything. Would highly recommend, they have a great attitude and you feel like a valued customer not just another property on their books.

I found them to be very professional, knowledge and they have me some great tips in order to finally sell my home. We went ahead with Big Black Hen and there suggestions and hey presto, our house sold. Ive since recommend Big Black Hen to my friends and family. Great service

21st Aug 2024 (21 weeks ago)I contacted this agent on a Friday to view a flat 10am Monday morning. As I was very interested I called and emailed on Saturday offering to put a holding deposit down as I was 99% sure I would take it and didn’t mind putting the deposit down early. I was told I would get a call back but didn’t get either a call or email. On Sunday I received an email confirming my viewing was booked and ready to go ahead for Monday morning 10am. I then took the day off work, drove for an hour and a half to get there, and at 9:55am I got an email saying the viewing was cancelled as someone had put a deposit down on Saturday. I called the agency and they finally informed me that they do not take a deposit unless you’ve had a viewing. If I had been informed I would have either gone on Saturday or not made the hour and a half drive for nothing. Very bad service, would not recommend.

His agency stands out from the rest due to his highly personal service; we spoke with or saw only him so felt super confident he was fully engaged and invested in our sale at all times. His comms were also excellent, as were his problem-solving skills and professional partners. The photography was outstanding, with much thought taken in both the planning and execution. Highly recommended!

Nathaniel Hobbs dealt with my purchase and I can honestly say that he went over and above to push this through - what a great Estate Agent! Adam has also been extremely helpful throughout. The team are so friendly and so supportive through what can be a long and stressful process. Thank you to everyone to helped get us to completion. I cannot recommend Shepherds enough!

5th Oct 2022 (2 years ago)We had a really bad experience with this estate agent, so beware. We had an offer accepted on a property, Jerome did the usual of taking our ID, proof of deposit, agreement in principle etc and confirmed acceptance. Three weeks later our solicitor raised our attention to the fact that the sellers solicitor had yet to issue draft contracts. After another week I finally got hold of Jerome who confirmed that the seller wouldn't issue the draft contract until we had a confirmed mortgage offer on the property. I told Jerome that wasn't the normal sequence we were familiar with, but he assured me that was how sales progressed in his experience. We went back to our solicitor who advised us that they would indeed normally wait for draft contracts to be issued before proceeding with searches and surveys etc. So we gave the sellers solicitor a deadline before we would reconsider the offer. On the day of the deadline the seller issued a race contract and advised us that there was another interested party who's offer had also been accepted and the seller would exchange with the party which secured a mortgage offer first. I don't know whether Jerome was aware that the seller had accepted multiple offers when we had our conversation, but my instinct at the time told me he wasn't being open and honest about the sellers intentions. So beware of this agent in case they try this with you.

Having previously tried to sell with another estate agent with no luck, Pete gave us the confidence to try again and not only got us sold, but at 15k more than another estate agent said we would achieve. From start to finish Pete and Ted’s communication was excellent. They were professional but friendly, and explained things clearly. Would 100% use them again in the future and have already recommended them to other people!
