28th May 2024 (9 weeks ago)I've been very happy with the level of service so far from Castlebrae. Many letting agencies wouldn't even respond to my rental enquiries, once they realised I lived outside the UK. Thanks to Jill Brooks and the rest of the team at Castlebrae, my husband and I were able to find a lovely rental very close to his work. We look forward to working with Castlebrae in the future.
6th Apr 2024 (16 weeks ago)Our experience with Mov8 was easy they kept us informed with viewing and communication was prompt. The only thing was their offices are in Edinburgh and Glasgow and we are in Carnoustie which was a little inconvenient if we needed to go to their office to sign things

14th Mar 2024 (19 weeks ago)Lack of communication and not pro-active as I had to instigate them doing anything. Pricing is terrible everything is an extra add on with vat on everything. Too expensive for lack of contact and or proactivity.

16th Feb 2022 (2 years ago)Worst company imaginable. Gave us misinformation for over six months regarding entry dates and also told us development was finished when it was not. Double check everything you are told by them. They misled us and we ended up over £18000 out of pocket. Avoid this company at all cost. They don’t admit liability for anything they do.

Pamela Bell the manager and her team tried to find me a property and kindly showed me round a few houses. Every time I went into the office I found them to be very welcoming and professional. I did unfortunately have to do my own house viewings which I didn’t love but I got nine viewings within the first week of it being on the market (!) and it went to the first people who viewed it so didn’t have to meet with all nine

9th Jun 2019 (5 years ago)Do not trust this company. We dealt with the previous iteration of the owners company and are now being left to clean up their mess. We should have gotten rid of them sooner.... leaving this review in the hope that other landlords won’t have to deal with the loss of over £2000 in rental payments plus the stress of figuring out what to do with our tenant now... even with the loss of rent I still may have left a good review if Amanda and Craig has worked with us to help figure things out (or even provide the tenants details) but the only response to any communication that we have is to essentially gloat that their old company doesn’t exist and there is no recourse for us. Pretty poor behaviour for a human being never mind a business owner.

From start to finish, they kept me updated, and informed me of what I needed to do at every stage. I liked the fact that I did not need to spend a thing until the whole transaction had been completed. I would use Neilsons again and recommend them to everyone who is selling or buying a house.
18th Mar 2024 (19 weeks ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

5th Jul 2024 (22 days ago)BE VERY CAREFUL!!! Once these lot have your deposit they ignore you. We agreed to buy a buy to let from these and went through the mortgage application with our own agent. We then found out they had overvalued thr property by a fair amount, not allowing us to get a mortgage. We were then told we had to use their mortgage person, which cost us another £300 but we had no option. They also could not get us a mortgage because the value was less than 50k. Upon telling these lot, they are now ignoring our calls, you can't speak to the refund team as only on email, no managers have phones and they won't give us our deposit back even though it states we are entitled to it back for following their stipulations. I'm no being ignored by the salesman Jack and no one will return emails etc. I will be taking this to the Ombudsman too, to highlight this appalling service and blatant overvalued to gain mortgage applicants. They had the same listing on their site for £52,500 and £46,000. We found this after we had agreed a price. So be very careful not to deal with these people. They are rude and have total lack of customer service once they have your deposit. Zero stars from me!!!
