2nd Sep 2024 (12 days ago)I don’t know where to begin with how horrific the service has been. It has been nothing but stress. AVOID THIS ESTATE AGENTS AT ALL COSTS! - Couldn’t even list the property details correct (basics such as number of bedrooms, street name). When I complained about this, the response was that it wasn’t the girls problem and to complain to someone else? - Getting a response to emails is impossible. When I complained I was told it was due to annual leave (pathetic excuse - annual leave for 6 weeks with no out of office email put on? More like laziness and incompetence). - They don’t tell you at the time of listing your property you are tied with them for 20 weeks. I formally complained regarding the contract Ts and Cs not being met with a request to leave our contract early and head office didn’t want to know! Nothing improved whatsoever. - Finally coming to the end of my 20 week contract and I gave my ‘28 days notice’ to remove from rightmove and they did it immediately. Opposed to waiting 28 days, what’s the point in this policy if I ask you to leave my property on for 28 days and you ignore me and do it instantly? - when I rang up to request to withdraw my property the young girl on the phone was rude. She wasn’t listening to a word I said so I rang again to ask her to send me something in writing to provide more assurance. She didn’t listen to my house number, told me my house had sold STC (obviously wrong), didn’t bother saying goodbye and hung up. Shocking customer service. In response to your other 1* reviews, you reply saying if we want to discuss further to contact you. What’s the point? I’ve done it plenty of times and your service remains diabolical. I don’t want to publicly name and shame but private complaints don’t work. If you want to sell your house in Barnsley, use anyone but these guys.

We recently secured a property through Your Move in Mapplewell, and I must say that Rachel and Louise from the letting team have been nothing short of exceptional. Their willingness to assist was evident in every interaction, with no phone call ever being too much trouble. They were always ready to listen, offer guidance, and support us throughout the process. Relocating from Doncaster to Barnsley, with the added challenge of being over 45 minutes away, made the search for a new home quite stressful. 9th Aug 2024 (5 weeks ago)I can’t thank the staff at Whitegates, especially Sarah, Will and Steve enough for all their help and support in selling Mum’s home during what has been a stressful time for me. They made the whole process much easier than I thought it would be. They were very efficient and communication was excellent; nothing was too much trouble and the staff were extremely helpful, professional and friendly and went above and beyond at every level. The house was sold in the first week of advertising which is remarkable. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Whitegates to others and 5 stars isn’t enough for the amazingly brilliant service I received.

20th Dec 2023 (8 mo. ago)We as a charity have used SMC for quite a long time. We have found them to be very professional but at the same time friendly and will explain any jargon that we come across that we do not understand. They have provided us with QQ reports, surveyors reports for purchasing and selling properties and have advised us several times. I would recommend this company

26th Jul 2024 (7 weeks ago)This is probably the worst letting agent in yorkshire. Indecent people. Avoid them at all cost. If you're looking for a room to rent try spareroom.co.uk. Nobody wants to work at the office in Barnsley for them. They change employees often. Don't waste time on clowns. I have been waken up multiple times during last few years by them and they don't respect that I work on night shift despite asking them not to do it. Even monkey can follow simple instructions. I tell everybody I can to avoid them.

I encountered some legal issues and the staff particularly Jan and Natalie kept on top of it and wouldn’t let solicitors sit on it. If it wasn’t for them I would still be waiting to complete. They kept me up to date with regular phone calls on any updates and were always willing to go that extra mile. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them

The first buyer backed out and Anthony Leach was extremely professional and helpful to do everything to get us another buyer and also to coax the deal to completion as quickly as possible. The rest of the team was also great. I would definitely use them again if I was selling.
20th Aug 2024 (25 days ago)Rented from Logic for nearly 5-years, great guys. They gave me a chance when I needed it, will always be grateful. Only had 2-3 repairs over the years, they always fixed a.s.a.p. I always looked after the property, hence why they approved 100% return of my bond/deposit. Huge thanks to Sam and Josh!!

5th Jul 2024 (10 weeks ago)BE VERY CAREFUL!!! Once these lot have your deposit they ignore you. We agreed to buy a buy to let from these and went through the mortgage application with our own agent. We then found out they had overvalued thr property by a fair amount, not allowing us to get a mortgage. We were then told we had to use their mortgage person, which cost us another £300 but we had no option. They also could not get us a mortgage because the value was less than 50k. Upon telling these lot, they are now ignoring our calls, you can't speak to the refund team as only on email, no managers have phones and they won't give us our deposit back even though it states we are entitled to it back for following their stipulations. I'm no being ignored by the salesman Jack and no one will return emails etc. I will be taking this to the Ombudsman too, to highlight this appalling service and blatant overvalued to gain mortgage applicants. They had the same listing on their site for £52,500 and £46,000. We found this after we had agreed a price. So be very careful not to deal with these people. They are rude and have total lack of customer service once they have your deposit. Zero stars from me!!!
