28th Mar 2024 (5 weeks ago)Matthew Stacy was the seller's agent in my recent purchase. Matthew's client is quite dis-organised (e.g. misplacing the keys for the flat on sale), but Matthew dealt with this with a sense of humor, eventually recovering the keys. During the transaction stage, for a while, my solicitor was acting quite slowly. I was able to get hold of lender's inquiries, and saw that one of the items was an electricity certificate. I figured that rather than waiting for my solicitor to talk to the seller's solicitor, I should just ask Matthew. He got the certificate for me the next day, and my solicitor was shocked when receiving it from me. The valuation turned out to be lower than my offer price, which meant that the bank would loan me less money. I was really out of cash by that time. and wanted a price reduction so that the sale would go through. Matthew was able to negotiate with the seller, and I got the price reduction I asked. Overall, a positive experience... Except that Matthew's task is not over even though the sale has completed - a fob is missing - and hopefully, Matthew will help getting it for me!

2nd Dec 2022 (1 year ago)Sandy Gorton handled the renting of the property and was superb from the word 'go'. He had people round, he chased up to see how interested they were and if they weren;t, why not. His communication with me was excellent. I was kept in the loop throughout the process and, quite honestly, he was like a Knight in shining armour. It did not take him long to find us a tenant and we are very grateful for his hard work, perseverance and charm.

27th Sep 2023 (7 mo. ago)First Step used to be the go to agents in the local area, they seemed honest and transparent. From my experience this is a thing of the best with them. There are many agents in the local area now who are much better then First Step, they will look after you and are much more sincere. My advice would be, dont just go with them, give all the others the same opportunity, remember First Step excel in talking the talk, but once your signed in, they dont walk the walk. Think is all I advise anyone.
21st Sep 2023 (7 mo. ago)We initially engaged with Taylor’s when we saw a house they had advertised on Zoopla. We met with Connor, Molly and Chris who all helped us through the purchase of our new property. If it wasn’t for them, we would not have managed to exchange and complete so so quickly. They were always really helpful with the hundreds of questions that we had (being first time buyers). Definitely recommend.

Excellent communication throughout the process despite deteriorating market conditions and a house close to the railway line that put off several viewers

Jackie provided proactive advice and little touches that helped get an offer and Libby kept the communication going until completion. Happy I went there.

13th Apr 2024 (20 days ago)I felt we had a very rocky start with the main contractions dealing with leaving. I had to chase mostly for feed back on viewings and I never felt that communication was as it was promised in the beginning. It’s a difficult market so it’s hard to say what and how the flat would have sold price wise and time wise in a better market overall I would say average

They were honest, incredibly helpful and went the extra mile at every step. They were by far the best part of the entire process and our only regret is that we didn’t use them to sell our old property! Cannot recommend them highly enough.
30th Oct 2023 (6 mo. ago)I never normally write reviews but in this particular instance I thought Richard and Toni at Lowthers Estate agents fully deserve to be recognised for their tremendous efforts during the sale of my property. Upon completion we soon realised that we had been dealing with each other for approximately 12 months following 3 different buyers due to a range of different issues along with the ever changing dynamics of the housing market. However despite all this, Lowthers remained thoroughly professional, committed and adaptive with their approach throughout the entire process always making me feel up to date and comfortable. I honestly believe most agents would have given up but they remained confident with the task which ended with a great result. I will definitely be using Lowthers in the future when I decide to sell my next property and would recommend to anyone thinking of doing the same.

Their professionalism, service, attentiveness, responsiveness and attention to detail is more than I ever thought I'd get from them as letting agents. They put in effort with viewings and found a great tenant for my house. I'd advise any landlord going with them. There is a reason why they have the best Google reviews of any lettings agent in Stevenage!
