My experience with Sunny Bay Letting Agency over the past two years was disappointing in several respects. Throughout my tenancy, I rarely interacted with anyone from the agency until the final week, and it was surprising to find that key arrangements and property viewings were primarily managed by the tenants themselves.
Moreover, the agency often delegated tasks to tenants, including repairs, showings, key management, and contractor coordination. This led to confusion regarding key copies and access procedures, as the agency's stance on possessing key copies seemed inconsistent.
For example, contractors’ access to bedrooms required leaving them open all day, even when tenants were away from the property.
Maintenance concerns, such as mold in the bathroom and a broken bathtub, were brought to the agency's attention but remained unresolved. Additionally, incidents involving drunk and aggressive tenants, were reported to the agency but met with inaction.
Response times for appliance repairs were slow, with a washing machine issue taking 10 days to resolve. Despite incurring additional expenses due to delays, reimbursement for laundry costs was denied.
Upon vacating the property, I was unexpectedly asked to pay £105 for lightbulb replacements that I had already handled.
Sunny Bay’s lack of support and action regarding tenant concerns left much to be desired. Overall, I would not recommend engaging with this agency, as they prioritise financial transactions over addressing tenant needs.... Read more
