18th Oct 2024 (13 weeks ago)This agency is extremely pro-landlord and seems to overlook the fact that tenants are a key part of their business. I've had two very frustrating experiences with them in just the past six months, and I feel compelled to share them. This won’t be a glowing Google review, that’s for sure but just a caution for prospecting tenants. (i) I found a new rental through them, made an offer, had it accepted, signed the agreement, and paid the deposit and advance rent six weeks before the move-in date. Then, less than two weeks before the move, I received a call informing me that the landlord had changed his mind. The agency had security measures in place to protect the landlord but none for me. I later discovered that the landlord hadn’t even signed the contract initially, and the agency didn’t bother to follow up with him. I escalated the issue, only to get a call from a local manager offering nothing but apologies. (ii) Fortunately, I found a new place through a more reliable agent and moved in. Ironically, the property I vacated was managed by this same agency, and the landlord made a claim for my entire £3200 deposit plus an additional £600, despite a very positive checkout report. The agency’s deposit officer pushed hard for me to pay, but when I counteroffered £485, communication suddenly stopped. I had expected the agency to mediate negotiations, but the officer ignored all my emails. I ended up filing a dispute with the TDS just three days before the deadline, and it’s now been nearly four months since I moved out. The case is still unresolved, with the landlord's claim (now reduced to £485, which I had originally offered) sitting at the shelf-resolution stage of the TDS process. If I take this to resolution, I’m confident they’ll get only a fraction of what they’re asking. This is a clear example of how this agency sides with landlords to the detriment of tenants.
2nd Jan 2022 (3 years ago)I can't recommend Siobhan and the team at KFH Sydenham enough, we had a really positive experience from start to finish. It was valued and everything arranged to get it up on the market really quickly. The photos were very professional and showed our property in its best light. They immediately had lots of viewings arranged with prospective buyers and we secured a buyer very quickly. There were numerous times throughout the sale process where Siobhan stepped in to guide us through keeping things on track. If it wasn't for Siobhan's prompting at a key point we likely would not have been able to complete on our desired date. Thanks very much to the entire team for all their hard work

Mirco was very kind to go extra mile and showed us the flat we were interested in for every time we've requested it. Also he helped us to complete the legal papers for the solicitors at the end of the process. Alina was very helpful to chase the seller 's solicitor and helped with the process.

As someone who himself lives nearby, he deeply understood the local market and how best to communicate the most salable features of the property to potential bodies. I really appreciated his friendly, down-to-earth approach and constant availability, even on the weekends. Being able to rely his advice and expertise from start to finish made the whole process incredibly smooth. In the end, he was able to negotiate an offer that was significantly over the asking price. His expertise and dedication really impressed me and we felt very lucky that we’ve finally secured the property together with his support. It’s definitely a big highlight of our year! From start to finish Rowan was very quick to confirm our viewings, readily available to unblock issues when they happen and maintain great communication among all parties throughout an incredibly stressful process. I would highly recommend buying from Ellisons and Rowan, it will make your life easier!

AVOID RENTING WITH FOXTONS AT ALL COSTS. I have been renting a property in Brixton for the past year and reported mould issues 4 months ago (20th May 2024) and to this day (27/08/2024) nothing has been done to rectify it. We have been back and fourth with property management (even crying down the phone) and they are still not letting us move out until we finish the tenancy length (2 year tenancy agreement). The flat is a basement flat and the bathroom doesn't have a window or an extractor fan which we informed foxtons was illegal to which they breezed over and OF COURSE haven't done anything about. We are now living in mould and seeking legal action to try and get out of our tenancy as Foxtons have told us on 3 occasions we have to find someone to replace it if we want to go. As you can see from the photos nobody should be living in these conditions. Every time we ring, our account manager is 'in a meeting' they take days/weeks to respond to a question. In regards to getting something fixed..we are yet to have one issue in our flat/tenancy fixed. If I could leave 0 stars, I would.

She was quick to answer our questions and provided clear guidance, making everything so much easier. Moving after 14 years can be stressful, but Meg’s support made a real difference. I highly recommend Goodfellows if you’re looking for genuine support in moving home, along with great advice, assistance, and a positive rental experience.
