7th Jul 2026 (10 weeks ago)Snowgate were brilliant from start to finish, unfortunately we were selling the house remotely , and therefore it was difficult to get those last few things which needed to be organised sorted. Snowgate helped arrange plumbers to disconnect washing machines\dishwasher, carpet cleaners, helped out with the British Gas and a boiler service. They also carried out all viewings and were very quick to keep us informed when we received offers, giving guidance on market conditions and the ability of the purchasers to proceed. Whilst we have not recently bought or sold a house ourselves a number of our friends have and all you hear are nightmare stories about estate agents. Not in this case Snowgate were brilliant and we would have no hesitation in recommending them

We bought our first house from Rob and the team when we met bed to the valley and each time we've dealt with them for subsequent properties they've been there to support us through the journey and even just for advice. This time has been nothing less than perfect

9th Sep 2026 (9 days ago)1 star — Avoid if you want a letting agent that communicates and takes responsibility<br><br>Don’t leave a review until you have experienced their services as a tenant!<br><br>My experience with this letting agent has been exceptionally poor, and I would not recommend them.<br><br>The biggest issue has been the way problems are handled once something goes wrong. In my experience, communication has been unreliable, commitments have not been followed through, and I have repeatedly been left having to chase matters that should have been dealt with by the agent.<br><br>My dealings with Daniel White have been particularly disappointing. Meetings have been arranged and then not attended. I have been given assurances that were not followed through, and I have had to challenge information that I believe was inaccurate. The result is that I have had very little confidence in anything I have been told.<br><br>The agent has also handled harassment I have experienced within the building poorly. I have raised concerns about the behaviour I have been subjected to, but I have not felt that these concerns were taken seriously or dealt with appropriately. Rather than receiving clear communication, meaningful support or evidence of proactive action, I have been left feeling isolated and responsible for repeatedly chasing the matter myself.<br><br>A letting agent should take complaints about harassment seriously, respond promptly, keep tenants informed and take reasonable steps to address concerns—particularly where the behaviour affects a tenant’s safety, wellbeing or ability to live peacefully in their home. In my experience, that standard has not been met.<br><br>Most concerning has been the handling of essential maintenance. My boiler has been known to have serious problems for months. Their engineer has attended on multiple occasions attempting to fit parts, despite indicating that the boiler is too old to be realistically repaired. I have now been left without hot water for an extended period, yet the agent has still failed to take appropriate action.<br><br>This is not a minor inconvenience. Hot water is a basic necessity, and a letting agent should take an urgent and proactive approach when an essential service fails. Instead, I have experienced delays, excuses, missed meetings and repeated chasing.<br><br>What has been most frustrating is that I have made every effort to deal with these issues reasonably and through the proper channels. Unfortunately, the impression left is that problems are simply allowed to drag on until the tenant becomes exhausted from pursuing them.<br><br>A letting agent should provide professionalism, honesty, communication and accountability. Sadly, I have experienced very little of any of these.<br><br>If you are considering renting a property through this agent, I would strongly suggest you look very carefully at how they deal with existing tenants before committing yourself. Getting the keys is one thing; getting problems resolved afterwards is another.<br><br>Based entirely on my own experience, I would not use this letting agent again and I would not recommend them to prospective tenants.- 8th Sep 2026 (10 days ago)We would like to highly complement particularly Chloe Armitage who went over and above with her service. She worked tirelessly for us almost every single day of the painful conveyancing period, liaising with such across the entire chain, bringing swift answers and moving the sale forward. Chloe was an understanding ear and a positive force when things looked difficult. Thankyou to this young woman who will go far!

6th Sep 2026 (12 days ago)Here’s the updated version with that removed:<br>Review of Whitegates (Letting Agents)<br>We moved into one of their properties 5 years ago. It was a 2-bed house at £725 per month. We liked the area and needed the space, so we took it. We never met the landlord at the start and only later realised the property belonged to the owner of Whitegates.<br>The house was let to us “as seen”, but it needed a lot of work. Paint was peeling in the dining room, small bedroom, bathroom and kitchen because it had been painted onto wet plaster (only one coat). The garden (front and back) was a mess. The hall banister wasn’t fitted properly and later came away from the wall when I slipped on the stairs (my own fault, no one else to blame).<br>We did some of the work ourselves and just got on with it. The more we asked for repairs, the less actually happened. The boiler was nursed along for 5 years until they were finally forced to replace it. They fitted the cheapest one they could find and it still took a week.<br>Earlier this year we went away to visit family. While we were gone, plaster collapsed from the ceiling in the main bedroom – pieces bigger than my hand. If any of that had hit our 7-month-old son he would have been in hospital. When we raised it, their response was basically “you have a spare room, sleep there.” No apology, no concern for the baby, no offer of help. Just cold and dismissive.<br>A painter who came round to look at the main bedroom roof/ceiling told us things that didn’t surprise us at all by that point. We were also threatened when we missed a single payment. Rent went up £50 every year and was heading for £900 by the time we left. They claimed it was just “keeping up with market increases.”<br>It was only when we gave notice that things suddenly started getting done. They also changed our tenancy agreement from yearly to monthly, then switched it back to the original yearly agreement, and then had the audacity to claim we owed them rent arrears because we left early.<br>When we left we cleaned the whole place thoroughly and repainted (I have the photos). The only thing we didn’t tackle was the oven, which had stopped working properly – another email that was ignored. If they try to claim they never received our emails about these issues, I still have them all.<br>How they ever won “Letting Agents of the Year” is beyond me. We would not recommend them to anyone. In our experience they were unprofessional, unresponsive and completely lacking in care for their tenants.<br>I also tried contacting the local paper and the mayor about this, but neither responded to my emails. These days it seems rogue landlords and estate agents aren’t considered big news, but companies like this need putting in the public eye. Hopefully the greedy, nasty people who work there will get what’s coming to them.
20th Aug 2026 (29 days ago)Recently sold my home with these guys and honestly couldn't have been happier with the service given to me by Kia McGrath. She stayed in constant contact and was always on hand to help with any questions I had, and she went the extra mile to make sure moving day went as smoothly as possible.<br><br>R&D may not be the cheapest around but I'd happily use them again knowing the level of service they provide.

4th Sep 2026 (14 days ago)We used Dawsons to sell our property after not having any success with a different local estate agents. We were really impressed with Matt and the team. They were always extremely good at keeping us informed about any enquiries and they always came back to us with feedback after viewings. They did the viewings on our behalf, and they were always fantastic and there were never any issues with availability. We would highly recommend them as the level of service was first class and the price was extremely competitive.

7th Sep 2026 (11 days ago)First class service from Butcher Residential in Denby Dale. Holly and Mel were excellent at keeping us informed on the progress of selling our house. They communicated with us regularly with updates and chased the buyers solicitors were necessary.
18th Jul 2024 (2 years ago)Wanted details on the Southwell Prebend house after a while I received it requested further information and a guidance on price and a viewing no reply a very well known Southwell resident who I visit discussed it with me ,I wasn't saying I was going to buy it but it would have helped if I was at the very least been given further information . Any how I gave up!! As far as I'm aware unless an agreement has been made which hasn't it should be open for a viewing.

Redroots works well with its solicitor partners, HSR Law, resulting in a seamlessly streamlined and integrated process. Despite unexpected Land Registry complications which threatened to impede progress, our personal Redroots Sales Agent gave us excellent counsel and guidance throughout. I would highly recommend Redroots for a smooth, reassuring and efficient sales experience.

From the very beginning, he has been incredibly efficient, professional and genuinely helpful throughout my purchase journey so far.<br><br>Jake submitted my very first offer on what will be my dream home, and he has gone above and beyond at every stage since. He even delayed his lunch break so I could get to the office with my paperwork, then helped with all the technical side of uploading the documents so everything could be processed quickly.<br><br>Communication has been outstanding. Jake has kept me fully informed about my vendor's house search and the progress of the rest of the chain, so I've always known where things stood. He also instructed my solicitors on my behalf, making the whole process much smoother and taking a lot of the stress away.<br><br>Whenever I've called or emailed, Jake has always responded promptly.<br><br>If you're buying or selling a property, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jake and the team at Mallinson & Co.
