26th Mar 2026 (20 weeks ago)I’m extremely upset with this company. One of their leafleters forcibly opened my closed electric gate—at 7:30 in the morning—to get to my front door. I’m a mother home alone with two babies, and that gate is there for our security and privacy. I felt violated and unsafe. I emailed the company to complain and never even received a reply. Unprofessional and unacceptable.

1st Aug 2026 (10 days ago)I had a fantastic experience purchasing my first house through Gascoigne Halman in Altrincham. From the initial viewing right through to exchange and completion, the communication was excellent throughout the entire process.<br>A special thank you to Joanna, who went above and beyond to make everything as smooth and stress-free as possible. She was always helpful, responsive, and genuinely cared about making the experience a positive one. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better person to guide me through buying my first home.<br>I would highly recommend Gascoigne Halman in Altrincham to anyone looking to buy or sell a property.

I was kept fully informed but didn’t need to get involved in the viewings. 24th Jul 2026 (18 days ago)After my partner wrote a 1 star review (which let me remind you is completely allowed on a rating site and was an honest reflection of our experience with jameson and partners), the managing director has been emailing us about it.<br>Not to apologise, not to try and get better as a business, but to let us know that she doesn’t think it’s a just review. She even mentioned that the vendors might share our review with other local agencies to “pre-warn them of this behaviour” if we don’t take it down.<br>This is all in an email of which I have saved.<br><br>We would like to reiterate that we have no problem with the vendors. They have every right to get as much for their property as they can. We understand that completely and wish them nothing but the best.<br><br>To Jameson and partners, I would implore you to read the review again. We had issues with your communication, your exclusivity agreement and since then how you conduct yourselves.<br><br>This is what the 1 star review is for, warning other first time buyers of our experience.<br><br>We will not be taking down the initial review nor this review so please stop asking. All we hope is other first time buyers chose their estate agents wisely!

From the very first viewing we could tell how passionate she was about the property, and she was so helpful with answering any questions we had. The entire process was very smooth and we’re so happy with our new house. I’d highly recommend Thompson's to anyone looking to buy or sell a house!

Buying or selling a house can be a stressful process, but the team at Thornley Groves were consistently professional, supportive, and impressive throughout. Chris, the branch manager, initially helped us with putting in our offer and was fair, transparent, and professional from the outset, which immediately gave us confidence in the process. Claire regularly checked in with both us and the vendor to ensure everyone was aligned and that all paperwork was progressing promptly. This made us feel well supported and helped keep things moving quickly without unnecessary delays. As we were part of a chain, there were some challenges in getting the top and bottom of the chain to agree on a completion date. Jamie, who originally showed us the property, was exceptional in handling this. She took the initiative to draft a detailed email, bringing all parties together, and used her professionalism and experience to resolve the situation and secure an agreed completion date. Her efforts were instrumental in ensuring a smooth conclusion to the transaction. Overall, I cannot recommend the team at Thornley Groves highly enough.
