22nd Oct 2025 (23 weeks ago)The worst letting agency out there. Getting them to support the tenant with anything is like pulling teeth. We’ve been asking and filing requests for over 4 months to have Connells send one to take a look at our kitchen sink, and it still hasn’t happened. They keep passing blame around to building maintenance, to the landlord, but never actually taking any action to support the tenant. On top of that, the communication comes whenever Connells feels like it. They set response timelines which are rarely adhered to and even when they do communicate, it’s nothing of substance. Avoid at all costs!

25th Mar 2026 (10 days ago)Great lettings team. Have used Hunters the past 4 years and they’ve always been extremely efficient at finding me a reliable tenant, keeping me up to date with regular inspections. Highly recommend for any landlord who is looking for a good agent and peace of mind.

26th Mar 2026 (9 days ago)This is what you might call a dodgy estate agent, in my view. We made an offer to rent a property through them, which was accepted by the landlord and we then passed all the referencing checks. However, they then sent us their "standard" tenancy agreement, which contained several unusual, unfair and potentially illegal terms (we have been renting for years with other agents without problems, so have a good idea of what a normal tenancy agreement looks like). When we questioned any of the terms, we were strung along for about a week and were then suddenly told we could no longer rent the property, even on the original weird terms. It feels like they are knowingly (or recklessly) putting forward unfair and potentially illegal terms to tenants, in the hope that people will agree to anything just to get a home to live in. If they are willing to do that, who knows what else they are doing to tenants who don't know of their legal rights and might get taken advantage of in many other ways?

From start to finish, the whole process was incredibly smooth and stress-free.<br><br>Communication was excellent throughout. A special thank you to Nick, who I dealt with directly. He was super helpful, friendly, and professional at every stage. Nothing was too much trouble, and he made sure everything moved along efficiently.<br><br>I can’t recommend Aubury and Finn enough if you’re looking to rent. Anyone going through the renting or buying process would be in a very safe pair of hands working with Martin & Co. They are experts and know the industry extremely well. In addition to the massive expertise, another thing worth highlighting is how nice and helpful the team was to me. THANK YOU Mandy, Tom and Claire for your kindness and fantastic work done. Also, very few Estate Agents have a website as well designed as the website of Martin & Co. Both processes of renting or buying a property are really complex, and I found very useful the wealth of advice provided in the website, about the key steps in either renting or buying a property. By far one of the best websites I saw after checking dozen of websites from other estate agents. Best wishes to the Martin and Co team in the St Albans branch, moving forward if I come across anyone in need of a Estate Agent, I will be happy to recommend Martin & Co.

The whole experience was very professionally handled, communication was great and everything was calmly and efficiently dealt with. Would definitely recommend based on my experience.

Henne in particular deserves a mention - she really helped when our chain was dragging by communicating up and down the line and keeping us informed every step. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

5th Mar 2026 (30 days ago)I'm still waiting to hear back from an email sent over a week ago , and that was already chasing an unmet promise!! I needed one small thing repaired in the whole letting period. Was still waiting weeks later. Eventually got it fixed myself in two days for less than half the quote House Shaw finally got for me. Will use another agent next time.
