Despite stating very clearly that we did not want a board or marketing to begin until after a certain date (we wanted to tell our elderly neighbours that we were moving first), the board was erected when we were not at home, earlier than requested. This caused considerable upset and distress to our neighbours.
Proof-reading by the agent was very poor. Punctuation was placed incorrectly, especially commas. Inaccurate use of spellcheck meant even simple words, often used by estate agents, were not corrected before the text was sent to us - e.g. 'greed' instead of 'greeted', 'boarders' instead of 'borders' in relation to the garden, 'singe' instead of 'single' in relation to the garage. It took three attempts for the details of the property to be correct.
The initial photos were dark and we did not feel they showcased our property well. The agent returned to re-take them but with limited improvement. Feedback from other people directly to us has confirmed this opinion.
After the initial consultation, we gained no impression that the agent was proactive in marketing our property, nor that they were really interested in our views. At times, their response appeared to be very dismissive.
We have now moved to a new agent - it is early days but we have been made to feel that we matter as individuals. Our views have been taken into account in a far more professional manner.... Read more
