20th Aug 2022 (1 year ago)Despite promises of being two people to run our open house, it felt like they sent the office junior who knew nothing about the property, and seemed to be nothing more than a glorified doorman. This meant that out of 20 viewing (and being assured of getting “7 or 8 offers well over the asking price” we had just two- one well below the offers over price. From there, the communication was practically non existent unless we done the chasing. We had used a different branch of theirs before who I would rate 5 star, but Colchester high street branch was terrible this time. Our final thoughts was that the house was undersold on the day, and awful communication.

We have always found them very proffesional with all aspects of managing properties. Ben Wilde is the senior partner who makes sure his team of staff who have been with him for a long while offer a quick response to any problem that may occur whilst the property is being managed by them. 19th Apr 2024 (8 days ago)I signed up with Michaels to sell my home. Initially, during the valuation and walk through, they presented well and gave a good pitch which I felt fitted in with my needs. However, the promises and standards fell short of the expectations set. On the day that the pictures were due to be taken, 20 mins before arrival, the branch manager cancelled as he felt unwell. There was little understanding from them that I had been prepping the house to make it look the best it could and spent all morning cleaning. To suddenly be let down with minimal notice was poor and despite claiming to be very ill, turned up the following day right as rain. The first issues should have been an indication as to how it would have gone but I chose to give then the benefit of doubt and work with them. However, there were still issues, such as having to chase for the EPC and floor plan to be uploaded to the advert which took three weeks after launch and a couple of viewings where the buyers seemed to know little about the property. A few times they had called me to arrange a viewing, we discussed and then would never call me back to confirm the outcome. Again, it just shows a lack of engagement from them. Michaels seemed great but for me and on this occasion, fell short of my expectations and the mandate that they were trying to deliver on.

They were beyond understanding and accommodating when things went wrong multiple times and didn't end up getting to view the place before moving in, but I really felt like their work ensured that I wasn't getting any less in terms of service. Thank you especially to Samantha who was so kind and waited for me to get my cat up to Colchester by train after my movers let me down twice. She is such a kind, lovely person to have been in contact with for this, and I wish her all the best!

24th Feb 2024 (9 weeks ago)Bond estates overall is a fantastic letting agency, however Jayne Inparticularly is fantastic. Jayne was kind, friendly and professional from the first viewing to completion of our application. She ensured everything was dealt with on time and communicated this to us on a consistent basis. Although we did run into a few issues along the way, this was of no fault of bonds (or Jayne) Jayne did her very best to work with us to help us secure this property as soon as possible. A letting agent I would and will highly recommend.

26th Jan 2024 (13 weeks ago)1 star is too kind. Absurdly unprofessional and rude company. The lettings staff I spoke to was completely disinterested in helping, when I mentioned I wanted to cancel a viewing I had booked due to finding another property with many more desired amenities for the same cost. The lettings agent became defensive and hostile, rather than promoting other properties available to let, which I only found out after pressing. I mentioned some of my personal information and she literally said she didn't care because she had other viewings, at which point I promptly said how unprofessional and ridiculous the attitude was and bit her good day. I am glad to not be working with a company like this, and putting my trust in people that, for lack of a better description, could not care less.
