I signed up with Michaels to sell my home. Initially, during the valuation and walk through, they presented well and gave a good pitch which I felt fitted in with my needs. However, the promises and standards fell short of the expectations set. On the day that the pictures were due to be taken, 20 mins before arrival, the branch manager cancelled as he felt unwell. There was little understanding from them that I had been prepping the house to make it look the best it could and spent all morning cleaning. To suddenly be let down with minimal notice was poor and despite claiming to be very ill, turned up the following day right as rain.
The first issues should have been an indication as to how it would have gone but I chose to give then the benefit of doubt and work with them. However, there were still issues, such as having to chase for the EPC and floor plan to be uploaded to the advert which took three weeks after launch and a couple of viewings where the buyers seemed to know little about the property. A few times they had called me to arrange a viewing, we discussed and then would never call me back to confirm the outcome. Again, it just shows a lack of engagement from them.
Michaels seemed great but for me and on this occasion, fell short of my expectations and the mandate that they were trying to deliver on.... Read more
