11th Aug 2024 (10 weeks ago)A huge thank you, and recognition given to Abby. Her patience and knowledge were great assets in her sales pitch. She took the time to print out information so that the visually impaired lady I care for, was able to be involved in the process. When we attended a viewing she escorted us around the property, pointing out features that may have gone unnoticed otherwise. This is in contrast to other viewings we have attended recently, where we are left to walk around the property, we prefer being guided and feel a more hands on approach is better, in our opinion. Aby is highly recommended by us for her approach to customer service. 5*

8th Sep 2024 (6 weeks ago)Would love to give them a 5 star. They do work hard in chasing up information. Yet Towards the end, we found Leanne rude & hostile. Very sad. All our removal men were shocked. They heard everything…as I had my phone on loud speaker. Our lovely buyer came to the house to reassure me. She mentioned some of the comments she made to her. Moving day is not the time to let your professional approach slip so badly. Wish I had paid them after not before. It’s not always what you say but how you say it…that causes offence.

As a point of contact for purchase of a new build they were professional, courteous and prompt throughout. Always on hand to discuss and advise on the foibles of our sale, and how these could be addressed to ensure a successful purchase. I can honestly say nothing was ever too much trouble, and we were made to feel valued, working in partnership throughout. 24th May 2022 (2 years ago)After an extremely traumatic and abrasive move back to Hull from Ireland after 13 years I found a property on Poppy residential. Being in between jobs and lacking some original documentation (that was in Dublin) the staff were extremely empathetic and helpful. I can say that after building a rapport with Amy (an employee) she went well above and beyond her duties to ensure that I secured the apartment. This young lady is an asset to the company and all staff I dealt with were pleasurable. I’ve no doubt other companies would’ve turned me away and I’d be couch surfing by now. Well done to Amy and staff. Dan

We chose a home that unfortunately was not on their books so couldn't comment further but I imagine based on the service provided so far, they would have done a great job completing for us. 24th Jun 2024 (17 weeks ago)I'm not surprised that Whitakers are highly rated because their customer service is spot on. We viewed a property that required a lot of work, and we were lucky enough to have Angie show us around. Angie was fantastic; she left us to it and answered any questions we had. I loved the property and believed I could turn that house into a home. As first-time buyers, we wanted to view the property again. Since the house wasn't cheap, we wanted to ensure we could afford the renovation costs. We booked a second viewing. At this point, nothing could have deterred me from putting in an offer, not even advice from family and friends. During our second viewing, the agent spent the first five minutes talking about their personal life and circumstances. When she finished, she reminded us that we had only 10 minutes left. Throughout the viewing, she followed us into every room, continuously reminding us of the time limit (I've never known any estate agents in Hull to have a 15-minute viewing limit and to remind us every minute). This created such a poor experience as we couldn't fully examine the property. We felt under pressure. The agent also mentioned that she disliked when buyers took their time and that previous buyers would linger. Then her husband called to remind her that she had only two minutes left, so we had to wrap things up. The reason for the 15-minute limit was that they needed time to get to their next viewing. The agent also complained about fuel costs and staff expenses, which seemed irrelevant to our viewing. My partner's father took the day off work to see the house but got stuck in traffic (Hull A63 was closed, causing gridlock). It took him 1 hour and 15 minutes to arrive, and when he did, we were told to book another viewing. There were many ways to handle the situation better: the husband could have gone to the next viewing while the agent stayed with us, they could have given us an extra five minutes for my partner’s father, or they could have left us the keys since the house was vacant. The people who showed us around were Mr. & Mrs. Whitakers. This experience ultimately deterred me from making an offer. If I could contact the vendor directly, I certainly would. If you were short-staffed, it would have been better to cancel my viewing and rebook it for a different date. Overall, I've had no problems with the staff, and I think they are absolutely brilliant (hence the two stars and not one). However, the owners should practice what they preach. You wouldn't expect your employees to deliver such a service, so why should you? Whitakers did call us to apologise and to book another viewing; however, this has left a bad taste in our mouths. The staff shouldn't be apologising; it should be the owners.

26th Sep 2024 (27 days ago)Riverside have just sold a family property at an incredibly stressful time for us, I can not recommend them highly enough, very impressive from booking the valuation to completion. The house had previously sat with the “leading agent in the area” who had told me “if they couldn’t sell it nobody would” Needless to say they didn’t sell it which isn’t surprising with the service levels they offer. Once it was on the market they seemed to do nothing, no communication until I said I was changing agent, they then managed to find several viewers who surprisingly were not suitable. I had requested several agents value the property, Kyle’s valuation was in line with others but when I called the office to discuss it Ciara came across as interested, knowledgeable of the house, area and market. That is the main reason we instructed Riverside. Throughout the process of viewings, offers etc the communication has been great as you would hope for, instant and always either able to get hold of one of the team or received a call back quickly, same with email communication. Thank you and best wishes Kyle, Ciara and Glenda, as I said I can not recommend your company highly enough. n.b. I was an estate agent for many years in another city so expectations were very high!
