11th Feb 2022 (4 years ago)I'm not one for reviews but I have to share my experience. After renting my property out through Northwoods (a lot of years), it was time to buy a new property. They had been fantastic at managing the property over the years, with constant communication and regular updates. the property was never left empty for long, just long enough to allow maintenance to be done (By their approved contractors) before new tenants moved in. So based on their professionalism I choose them to handle the purchase. It just seemed effortless, again communication was spot on, I never once had to call to push along, Sara and Sam seemed to be one step ahead and kept me well informed explaining any issues that might arise, when there was a problem they sorted it all out with a common sense approach. When the other party seemed to be dragging their heels (solicitors) on completion, there they were again helping the transaction through to the end. I can not recommend these guys enough, for making everything hassle free, with no stress at all.

9th Jan 2026 (14 weeks ago)If I could leave no stars, I would. Very disappointing experience as buyers. We were encouraged on multiple occasions to increase our offers, only to be told much later that the seller was not actually in a position to proceed as they had not found anywhere to move to. Had this been made clear from the outset, we would never have increased our bids. Communication was inconsistent throughout, with long delays and changing explanations about the seller’s situation. We did not receive timely written confirmation of our offers or the seller’s responses, and only received a retrospective summary after repeatedly requesting clarity. Being pushed to increase our offer several times, only to later discover that the seller could not move forward, left us feeling that the process was driven by price rather than transparency. This lack of clarity and honesty caused unnecessary stress and ultimately led us to withdraw. We would strongly advise other buyers to ensure everything is confirmed in writing from the very beginning.

He offers a fair fixed fee for his work, so no commission percentage to worry about. He kept me and my solicitor informed the entire way through the process, ensuring I had the best possible service throughout. He was always a pleasure to work with. Thanks a million Ian.
25th Mar 2026 (22 days ago)I was a tenant for over five and a half years. For the vast majority of that time (over five years), the property was managed by a different agent, and my experience during that period was consistently positive. In the final few months of my tenancy, the landlord changed managing agents to Chelton Brown, and unfortunately the experience changed significantly. During my tenancy, my rent was always paid in full and on time, and I took care to maintain the property throughout. I also contributed towards improvements, including new carpets, which reflected what I believed was a positive working relationship. However, the experience at the end of the tenancy was disappointing. After providing formal notice in December and vacating at the end of February, communication regarding my deposit was slow and unclear. It took two weeks to receive a breakdown of proposed deductions, with responses often taking a week or more. Throughout my tenancy, the property was inspected regularly and consistently reported as being in good condition. Given this, the delays and lack of clarity at the end of the tenancy were particularly frustrating. While the matter was eventually resolved, the process felt unnecessarily prolonged and lacked the level of professionalism I had experienced previously. A property business may focus on landlords and sales, but it is worth remembering that tenants are an essential part of that relationship. Without tenants, there is no income to manage. With clearer communication and more timely handling of deposit returns, the experience for tenants could be significantly improved.

31st Dec 2021 (4 years ago)Marie’s remarkable work ethic We were with another agent for 6 months, they showed know interest or drive to sell our house. We decided to go with a different agent. We went with Marie from fine and Country Marie had the drive and a different outlook on the selling of our home . She booked one open day for potential buyers to view, on that day we had a disaster, a water leak!!! (we were away at the time) Marie not only sold our house in it’s worst state , she helped with the clean up !! We were kept informed all the way through out the sale of our home . We would highly recommend Marie for her outstanding service , positive attitude and her remarkable work ethic!!

3rd Feb 2026 (10 weeks ago)Very unprofessional after you give them business. They managed our property in Northampton for 4 years. No inspection reports ever provided. Told us the tenant has left and there was no rent for us. Seem like they do not know the legal implications of such action. The personnel who managed our property was very arrogant and has no idea of customer service. Had to prompt them for rent to be disbursed on most of the times.
