5th Nov 2025 (12 days ago)(This review was originally 3 stars) So its been 1 year, and as I usually do I looked back at my review and decided to reconsider the rating I originally left. The property is fine, but its just fine. It's quite painful to get any issues looked at or resolved at carter Jonas, I'm honestly quite dissapointed with the service I'm receiving. My fridge has been broken for weeks (it comes with the house so I cant have my own) and there's no sign of this being resolved. The heating still doesnt work in 2 bathrooms (to be fair, I only complained about this twice, maybe I'll be 3rd time lucky?) And my rent has went up, although not by a big about. Still, it's a cheery on top. All and all the biggest issue is with how I'm supposed to report issues, they have a new and "better" ticket system. And let me tell you its horrible. I guess I'll keep throwing in tickets until someone decides I deserves to have a place to keep my milk from going bad in a day. I'll revist this review in the future, but its not looking bright.

15th Nov 2025 (2 days ago)For some reason the sales progressor (Kim?) thought it apt to give misleading information to our buyer about deadlines and tried to manipulate the story of the sale which led to a huge amount of unnecessary stress. It was against all odds that the sale didn’t completely collapse for a second time at the very last minute. That was down to damage limitation by savvy solicitors elsewhere in the chain and by direct communications between buyers and sellers by-passing misinformation and building trust. Such tactics are just not ethical and thankfully not all agents in this company or others are like this.

We've worked with F&C on two separate occasions to buy and sell houses and have found the whole team professional, approachable, proactive and very effective. They've also given us valuable advice about properties we're looking to buy in other parts of the country. Thank you Kate and David in particular.
6th Aug 2025 (15 weeks ago)I have just completed on my new property bought through Barton Fleming in Bicester. From the start I was shown the property by Terry, and from there on in dealt mainly with Colin. I couldn't fault them. Any queries I had of which there were a few were sorted and dealt with. I feel I built up a good relationship with them and they went above and beyond to sort out any issues I had. I feel it was nice to work with a local independent company and to support local trade. 5 stars from me all round. Thank you Colin,Terry and your team. Many thanks

Their knowledge of the market is outstanding and they truly go above and beyond to support you — whether you’re buying or selling. What really sets them apart is their personal approach. They take the time to get to know you, they’re always available — in person or on the phone — and nothing ever feels like too much trouble. In a world of faceless large agencies, Cridland & Co are the complete opposite: genuine, approachable, and always there to help, directly or by pointing you in the right direction. Professional, supportive, competitive, and incredibly dedicated — I wouldn’t use anyone else.
31st Aug 2025 (11 weeks ago)The staff at Savills, Oxford were very helpful and friendly when we approached them with a view to selling our house. Alice Burch came to see us straight away and her valuation was close to our expected figure. She introduced 2 prospective buyers within the first few months one of whom has now purchased the property. We would certainly recommend Savills as a good quality estate agent.
26th May 2022 (3 years ago)The unique service offered by Griffin has enabled me to complete a DIY sale of my home on the Internet using national property sale platforms as if I was the website. I listed my property at 8am and by 9.30am on the same day I was receiving emails from potential purchaser's. I well know the power of the Internet, but even I was surprised by the speed of it all. The Griffin team have the power to listen and assist you, I wish to thank the person at Griffin who originated this professional service and his team for doing a great job. If I ever need to sell a home in future I will immediately use the Griffin service and have been recommending them to family and friends. Thank you.

18th Mar 2024 (1 year ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

13th Jun 2023 (2 years ago)Hathaways took over management of our Oxford property in April this year, and so far have been a breath of fresh air - it's great to be working again with a family concern, and to feel that they care about us and our tenants. The only issue we had was that some documents were rather unclear, but they responded promptly to my feedback and updated the docs to fix this. Service has been friendly and efficient.

They kept us regularly updated and maintained momentum to help push things through when our transactions were delayed by numerous issues, especially when we were struggling with our solicitor.
