David Doyle Estate Agents

David Doyle were brilliant from start to finish. Especially when we were close to exchanging, Nicole from their progressions team was brilliant at liasing with our buyer and the rest of the chain, providing updates and pushing everything through as much as she could. She was really easy to chat to and felt like an agony aunt at times as it was the most stressful time of my life! She has the patience of a saint! I'd 100% recommend David Doyle to anyone I know who are looking to sell.... Read more

Horrible experience! We have forwarded an interest in a property and we had to wait for two weeks for the landlord to pick between us and another applicant. He would postpond the decision several times while our Plan “B’, “C”, “D” were off the market. If you like a property, you cannot make a deposit and take it of the market straight away. This gives others a chance to come in the last minute and take it of your hands.... Read more

Carter Jonas, particularly Tanya, were extremely helpful and friendly getting everything sorted before and after the move and were very prompt replying to questions and issues. They were also very quick sorting issues with maintainence which was a pleasant surprise compared to previous letting agent experiences.... Read more

Note of caution to Tenants – Avoid at all cost! - Only gave 1 star because I couldn’t give lower. Carter Jonas are a 1 sided estate agent that only represent the Owners and where Tenants are a commodity. They optimise the law in the owners favour and will extract the maximum money out of you while giving you the most 1 sided tenancy agreement possible. Basically act as the owners “muscle”. Dealt with them for 3 years as a tenant and hope to never deal with them again as a tenant or a potential landlord.... Read more

I have been forced to write this because I want everyone to be aware of what we are getting into here. I have been renting one of their house for the last 2 year, I have just started my third and for all this time I have always been patient and respectful with them, but it seems the more you educated you are with them the less they care. I pay a lot of money for my rent because is "managed" and let met tell you, a managed property is just a rip off to take more money from you and the landlord, because the level of quality and service is ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS. I don't have a single positive experience, when one wrong thing happens it may due to many reasons, 2 well it may happen, BUT when EVERY SINGLE time it happens is just the same, it means that is how they are. The house I rent is old, so obviously you are going to encounter lots of issues over time, which is fine is nobody's fault, but if to fix those issues it takes you MONTHS, YEARS and many emails and calls, then THERE is an issue. When I first moved the heating wasn't working properly, it would start and stop at random times, asked them hundreds of times to find and fix the problem, they said they could not find anything wrong I had to pay someone to find the problem and then request them to change the damage part, of course that is money they never gave me back. (it took 8 months to solve this) 5 months after I moved the electricity in the house started to just switch off at random moments, you could imagine how irritating that is, but more than that it was the possibility of something dangerous happening that could potentially get the house on fire, not to forget that I may come home to find the freezer and fridge off and the food damaged of course. For such a serious problem it took them 4 months to even SEND someone to check what the problem was, 2 visits and the problem was found, it was a simple thing, but it took them 4 months to send someone. The Lino in the kitchen was ruined because of the electric problem, by moving everything in the kitchen, fridge, freezer and so on. I requested to change it (either by me BY ME PAYING, but since I need approval for any change since is not my house I could not do it even if I paid for it) it took them 18 Months, yes 1.5 Years to change the Lino. Last week the freezer completely died so I lost all my food, hundreds of pounds worth of food, but is ok, is not their fault that the freezer died, stuff happens, fine. However I have used their web portal, called them, but they say this is not an emergency, a week later, still NOTHING, I can't buy meat or anything that needs to be frozen, because well they don't care. You call them all they say is we will call you back, THEY DON'T. I don't understand why me or the Landlord pay this agency for, it makes no sense is giving them money for DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I am on the border of desperation that you fear anything happens because you will have to deal with an agency that doesn't care absolutely at all. I just renewed my contract as I said and I would really like to speak with my landlord to understand because honestly it makes no sense, they have not even given me a copy of my contract for the last 2 years, which BY LAW I SHOULD HAVE. I am borderline desperate, if the Landlord reads this (this is going to be post on facebook too) I would really like to have a chat with him I am sure with my name he knows who he is.... Read more

Awful customer service! I have emailed regarding different properties with no response nearly 2 weeks later ! I called about a particular property and was very rudely told ‘it’s gone’. They didn’t offer to take my details to keep me updated about any future properties unlike all of the other agencies in the area and I will certainly not rent through this company.... Read more

Where to start... My partner & I were planning on relocating to the area and enquired about a property advertised online. To start, Chancellors Bicester were quite helpful and showed us 3 other potential properties. We were booked in to view all of them (one viewing cancelled on the day) and were pleased with one of the properties, so made an offer. One of the properties we viewed had a very unusual situation with the landlord where they had an offer through Chancellors, as well as an offer through a friend. The landlord hadn't accepted either offer, and seemed to be messing everyone (including Chancellors) around. Regardless, this doesn't look great on Chancellors dealing with such sketchy and unreliable clients. My partner & I made sure all relevant documentation and information required to proceed with our offer was completed quickly and sent to Chancellors for them to make an offer to the landlord. On the phone we were told our offer had been accepted, and with the property being vacant we were asked if could we move in 4 weeks earlier, which we couldn't. However, we were able to be accommodating and managed to organise for us to move in 2 weeks earlier than originally planned. We chased multiple times for written confirmation of the offer being accepted and proceeding to the next step (which was never received), this is where things started going down south very quickly with Chancellors Bicester. All of a sudden, work needed to get one to the property (which wasn't a condition of our offer or the agreement moving forward). We then were told we were unlikely to move in at the agreed date and it would be a couple/few weeks later than expected - which would have left my partner & I temporarily homeless due to us accommodating the landlord's timeline and requests. We consistently requested for the pre-rental agreement checks process to start, of which we were fobbed off by Chancellors Bicester, saying the landlord doesn't want to start the process or look at providing a written contract without the work being completed on the property. This wouldn't have been completed until our original move-in date. We later found out our application was never properly processed (when speaking to a different Chancellors branch, who said they didn't see our application or advanced situation on their system (which is connected up to all other branches). They confirmed that they had seen other information in their system, such as viewings and email correspondence. Every time we called our contact at Chancellors Bicester, they were "always on the other line" and would take days to return my call. They also slipped up one occasion saying that they saw me calling in but couldn't answer as they were "just so busy". When I called on a different or a withheld number, conveniently our contact always picked up and was caught off guard. My partner called on different occasions and the situation was always presented in an exaggerated positive light, which wasn't the case, nor was it represented in that way to me during the advanced discussions when things were getting worse. We would have never know the above information if we hadn't chased up or spoken to other branches of our own accord. This branch was horrendous and nothing like the service we experienced with the other Chancellors branches. We had to withdraw interest in the property in the end, as we were running out of time to find, view and proceed with other properties. They couldn't get my first name right - one day I was Alan, Andrew or James, nor could they spell my surname correctly. I would avoid Chancellors Bicester at all costs, unless you're happy with poor service, lack of communications or being told outright lies on a regular basis.... Read more
