Useless company. Was promised an e mail with details of several properties "' immediately ". Waited all day. Even rang again to chase it up. Nothing happened. Slightly patronising, highly incompetent staff. They probably wonder why estate agents have got such a bad name !!?
I can only speak for my own experience but they were great for me- a very personal experience. I did witness some of the 'dark side' mentioned in other reviews here towards other customers, but yer man is a good guy- just don't mess him around. For example, with the bills, its perfectly reasonable that you should pay them before getting your deposit back, so don't make up 'legal cases' otherwise.
I didn't get my deposit back for 5 months after moving out, but this was the fault of EDF- not City Life. When I finally did get proof of payment, I got the deposit back in my account the following week. The young woman who deals with deposits there is particularly good. There was an unexpected charge in the small print (less than 50) but after having read the comments here I couldn't believe how easy it all was... especially since after 3 months of moving out the flat I wasn't even covered by the Deposit Protection Scheme.
They could have stung me but they didn't- I'd go with them again.
Been flat hunting and found what I thought could be perfect. Arranged a viewing, no problems however the flat needed work. Attif (the agent) agreed the flat wasn't up to scratch so said we would be able to get a rent reduction if we were to put the work into it ourselves. I later emailed to confirm this was the case as he had told my partner different.....he obviously LIED and said the flat had now been taken. I decide to carry on with my flat search to find this flat IS STILL AVAILABLE and the rent price has been reduced! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, PURE LIES!!
I could not ask for a better agency and agent. Mike Briggs was very helpful, he walked me through every little detail, showed me a lot of apartments that matched my criteria and helped me move into my apartment very soon! Thanks a lot for everything!!!
Completely avoid this company like a plague, constant mis informed, lies to my face by the "fantatsic" Tom Hayden who I would personally blame for the very poor service myself and many others have experienced and so much more I don't have the patience to write!!!

This agent is highly unethical. They want the tenant pay bills to refurnish the property they managed and took almost all deposit in the check out. The worst part is the agent people Naureen is the most Vicious woman I have met so far. When I try to be good to let her help to check the dirty and damage I made in the last 3 years, she count every single dirty even the damage due to time in our bill and keep criticizing the dirty you made just like she is the queen of that studio. When I was in a hurry to put my stuff on the van to move out, she keep asking for return the door key so that she can swipe you out even your stuff is still in the room. When I ask her to leave the room as she was trying to disturb you moving your stuff even before the check out time, she ignored what I ask and try to charge me from my deposit for lock her in the room until I moved my stuff to the new place and come back before the appointment time. She even put energy consumption (water and eletricity) bills for room cleaning after I leave into my bill. What a stingy women and agent. All in all, never treat them kind if you are already in the contract or avoid!!

I can tell you there is no such negotiation thing but threatening to me who is a stranger and in a relatively weak position lack of expereince. I am indeed quite lucky to leave the apartment after most of my course has been ended. You didn't read my words carefully or you ignore that too. The energy bills issue is becuase Naureen put energy consumptions including cleaning even after 13th Feb hat I've leave the apartment. Secondly, Naurren came earlier but not the appointment time, So there is nothing with stress but your push up. I know you would like to show yourself a good impression on the web but a good reutation is built on our work only. Hope it helps.

wont turn up to bookings ontime and will ask you to wait around another 20 minuets every time you ask where they are.... and then still not turn up to an appointment after over an hour of waiting for them. Not even a call back from the agent to say they cant make it only told to wait
