16th Feb 2022 (4 years ago)Worst company imaginable. Gave us misinformation for over six months regarding entry dates and also told us development was finished when it was not. Double check everything you are told by them. They misled us and we ended up over £18000 out of pocket. Avoid this company at all cost. They don’t admit liability for anything they do.

My son, owns his own business , his wife & 5 really well mannered level headed kids applied for a property after viewing to be told the “owner” decided they were not suitable? No credit searches, no full application only how many occupants. Is this discrimination against have a large family and assuming they’re reliant on benefits? He has private rented for some 15 years and never missed a payment. Maybe Clyde should work a bit harder to satisfy owners & renters.
2nd May 2026 (14 weeks ago)Through the recommendation of a friend we contacted David Muir Estates to organise the sale of our house in Balloch. From the start the process was really professional and very soon we had exceptional video and photo presentations that demonstrated our property to our great satisfaction. The subsequent quick sale and the ease of contact for updates in the ensuing formalities was excellent. No hesitation in highly recommending their services.

The whole process was handled efficiently and professionally, with clear communication throughout. I was kept informed at every stage, and any questions I had were answered promptly and in a straightforward manner, which made what can often be a stressful process much easier. The sale progressed smoothly, and everything was completed within the expected timeframe. I particularly appreciated their attention to detail and proactive approach in dealing with any issues that arose. I would highly recommend this solicitor to anyone looking for a reliable and professional conveyancing service.

They carried out appropriate inspections and safety checks. I would use them as a property manager or a tenant in the future and would definitely recommend.
5th Sep 2023 (2 years ago)Was so disappointed with the carry out as 1st time and got prices on line which apparently have not been updated ordered veg pakora chicken pakora and poppadoms and spiced onions £18.96 when I queried this she said it was 2 poppadoms and spiced onions it's not the best experience as the prices are very much more expensive 6.99 chicken pakora and 5.99 for veg pakora 2.99 poppadoms and spiced onions. Only exotic thing about this place is the prices. UPDATE After owners reply STILL no update on prices and as previously mentioned the poppadoms and spiced onions come together what they need to mention that a portion is 2 poppadoms broken up as when I ordered 2 poppadoms and spiced onions got the equivalent of 4 poppadoms at 5.98 so this needs to be clearer on the menu also as how many poppadoms do you need for 2 people.
27th Mar 2026 (20 weeks ago)Kenny was so helpful and empathetic to the fact I was selling my mums house who died recently. He immediately made me feel confident I had chosen the right person. The house was sold in 5 days for the valuation price which was fantastic. He was able to tell me a bit about the family buying the house and it was so comforting for myself and my sister to know it was going to a family who immediately fell in love with the house and were so excited to bring their family up there as mum and dad had done with us. I would highly recommend Kenny and the company to anyone. Thank you so much
3rd Aug 2026 (8 days ago)I would strongly advise anyone considering Rettie Newton Mearns for mortgage or remortgage services to think carefully before proceeding.<br>My experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. During my remortgage, I experienced poor communication, unnecessary delays, and a lack of ownership when problems arose. Issues with the handling of the Standard Security paperwork caused significant stress and wasted a considerable amount of my time.<br>Despite paying a £549 broker fee, I did not receive the professional service I expected. In the end, I remained with my existing lender after going through an unnecessarily frustrating process.<br>What disappointed me most was the way my complaint was handled. I raised my concerns and expected Rettie to acknowledge the shortcomings and resolve the matter fairly. Instead, I have received no meaningful resolution or compensation.<br>My dealings were primarily with Roland Brownlee and Megan Gordon at the Rettie Newton Mearns branch, and unfortunately my overall experience with the service I received was very poor.<br>Based on my personal experience, I would not use Rettie again, nor would I recommend Rettie Newton Mearns to friends or family. There are many mortgage brokers available, and I would encourage potential customers to do thorough research before choosing this branch.
